Vincent Auletta, 85, of Norwood, formerly of New Milford, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015. Beloved husband of Frances L. (nee Mager). Cherished father of Donna Perazzo and her husband David of Tuxedo Park, NY and Rhonda Martin and her husband James of River Vale. Adored grandfather of Lisa Walz and husband Greg, Christen Anz and husband Isaac, Heather Caporaso and husband Matthew, Scott Martin and Sarah Martin. Dear brother of Arthur Auletta of New Milford and loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Vincent was a five year US Naval Air Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from PSE&G after 40 years of service. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council 3814 in Oradell and the Westwood Elks. Vincent also enjoyed playing pool, golf and bowling, along with his wife, Frances.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday 11:00 AM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale with interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting hours are Sunday 4-7 PM.

Peter F. Glynn, Jr.

Peter Francis Glynn, Jr., 83, of Cresskill, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Beloved husband of Ann C. (nee Dillon). Adored father of Peter F. Glynn III of Cresskill, Cathy Glynn of Cresskill and Maureen Finn and husband John of Northvale. Cherished grandfather of Jessica, Ryan, Bobby and Katie. Dearest brother of Thomas Glynn and wife Eileen of Tuxedo, NY and the late Florence Glynn.

Peter was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War and belonged to the VFW Post 3286 and American Legion Post 21, both of Cresskill. He retired from the US Postal Service. He was a parishioner of St. Therese Church in Cresskill and was a member of its Knights of Columbus Chapter and the Cresskill Senior Citizens.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 11:00 AM at St. Therese RC Church with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY. Visiting hours are Saturday 7-9 PM and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale (201-767-3050).

Sheila O’Donnell

Sheila P. O’Donnell (nee O’Sullivan), 86, of Northvale,NJ, formerly of Woodlawn, the Bronx, NY, and of Bantry, County Cork, Ireland, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Beloved wife of the late John J. O’Donnell. Devoted mother of Mary O’Donnell of New City, Sheila Guerin and husband Patrick of Pearl River, Roseann O’Reilly and husband Michael of Northvale, Jimmy and wife Kathy of Tappan, John and wife Kathleen of White Plains and Kathy O’Donnell of Northvale. Adored grandmother of Sinead, Michael, Kerry, Erica, Sharon, John, Patrick, James, Jack, Neil, Danny, Una and Kristy. Dearest sister of Michael, Patjoe, Kathleen Traynor, Jerry, Donnie, Willie, Brendan, Noreen Coppinger and the late James (Sonnie), Denis, John and Mary Cox.

Sheila retired from the NYC Bd of Ed where she was a cook for many years. She belonged to the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association, the Celtics Gaelic Football Club, and the O’Sullivan School of Irish Dancing.

Anthony A. Chiusano

Anthony A. Chiusano, 87, of Northvale, died peacefully in his home on Friday July 10th.  Born and raised in Englewood, NJ.  Graduate of Dwight Morrow High School.  Anthony served our country in World War II in the Navy.  He then worked as a department head for A&P for 42 years until his retirement.  He was a former councilman for the town of Northvale where he also worked as a crossing guard in his retirement.  Anthony was a parishioner of Saint Anthony’s parish in Northvale.

 

He was predeceased by his wife Catherine (nee Hartman).  Anthony is survived by his daughter Lisa Sherman and her husband the late Donald Sherman, his grandchildren Eric and his wife Veronica, Brian and his wife Jessica and Carly Sherman.  Anthony had three beautiful great grandchildren Lily, Charleigh and Chloe.  Also survived by his brothers Angelo and his late wife Anne, Paul and his wife Irene, and the late Pat and Marilyn, his sister in law Betty Anne Cornell (nee Hartman), numerous nieces and nephews, long time neighbors the Jacobsen family and his beloved community of Northvale.

Joseph S. Lamia

Joseph S. Lamia, age 70, was a longtime resident of Highland, MI and Upper Nyack, NY.  He passed away peacefully on July 9th 2015, surrounded by his loving family.  Joseph held a successful career in cosmetic industry sales for L’Oréal and Revlon prior to developing his own company, Lamia & Lamia, which is still in existence today.  Joseph’s talents were not limited to business.  His greatest accomplishments could be seen in the way he lived each day, caring for his family, enjoying those he loved and enjoying his life.    An avid golfer and a long-time member of Rockland Country Club, he developed bonds with family and friends and was always the consummate host.

Beloved husband of Gail Lamia for 48 years, the story of their first dance in high school is still told today.  Loving and devoted father of Joelle Reinhart and Michael Lamia, and father-in-law to Jennifer Lamia and Curtis Reinhart.  “Papa” forever to six grandchildren, Julia, Joseph, Sammy, Mikey, Gianna and Mia, who will always remember him as a man who never gave up. He taught them to let love grow during times of the greatest adversity.

Joseph is survived by his brothers, Frank Lamia, John Lamia and Charles Lamia, his sister Connie Lamia and their spouses Patty, Pearl, Maria and Ed.

We celebrate his life of courage and devotion.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 15 from 2:00-9:00 pm at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave. Northvale, NJ (201) 767-3050.  The funeral mass will be on Thursday, July 16 at 10:00 am at St. Ann’s Church 16 Jefferson Street, Nyack, NY. Charles F. Argenti, 77, of Painter, VA, formerly of Northvale, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015. Loving father of Robin Argenti of Newburgh, NY and Charles F. Argenti, Jr. and his partner Tina Armstrong of Murrells Inlet, SC.  Adored grandfather of Aubrey Argenti.  Dearest brother of Albert and wife Denise of FL, Dolores Friedman and husband Roger of Northvale, Marianne Argenti of Long Island, NY, and the late Daniel, Virginia Giardini, Antoinette Argenti and Raymond.

Charles was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War and belonged to the Northvale VFW and American Legion.  He was self-employed in the construction industry.

Rev. Msgr. William J. Koplik’s earthly life ended on Monday, June 29, 2015 in the compassionate care of those who ministered to him at Villa Marie Claire Hospice in Saddle River.   Devoted son of the late William and Rose Koplik; beloved brother, uncle, priest, friend, counselor, author and colleague, Monsignor Koplik is survived by his sister and brother-in-law:  Rosemarie & Frederick Patrizio; niece, nephews, and their spouses:  Judi & Michael Feinberg, Mark Patrizio, William & Nancy Patrizio; and three grand- nieces and three grand-nephews.

Born Feb. 22, 1936 in Union City, New Jersey he spent the early years of his life there before his family moved to Ridgefield. After graduating from Seton Hall Prep, South Orange, he entered Immaculate Conception Seminary (Darlington) and was ordained to the Roman Catholic priesthood in the Archdiocese of Newark on May 26, 1962. His love of God and dedicated service to God’s people is evidenced in a variety of ministries throughout the past 53 years. In addition to his parochial assignments, Monsignor was a gifted author. He collaborated with Joan Brady in writing Religious Education Programs for Baptism, Reconciliation and Confirmation and co-authored a 3 part Lenten series with Richard Haffey.

His first parochial assignment was at St. Margaret of Cortona, Little Ferry. It was here and at St. Anthony’s, Northvale that he served as Parochial Vicar. His next ministry was as Temporary Administrator at Our Lady of Lourdes, Mountainside. Monsignor also served as Chaplain at Jersey City State College while residing at Our Lady Queen of Peace, North Arlington. In 1981 he was assigned to St. Matthew’s, Ridgefield, where he served for 14 years as pastor and Dean of Bergen/Southeast Deanery. His next assignment as pastor was at Holy Trinity, Hackensack.  During this time he served as Director of Evangelization for the Archdiocese of Newark and was invested as a Prelate of Honor. He returned to St. Anthony’s, Northvale, as pastor, and retired from there in 2002. In retirement he resided at St. Matthew’s, Ridgefield until he moved to The Jewish Home at Rockleigh where he was well cared for and lovingly referred to as ‘the pope of The Jewish Home.’

Monsignor Koplik will always be remembered as a loving, gentle, generous, humble, kind man who always kept his sense of humor. His greatest passion was to serve God and God’s people as a priest.

In lieu of flowers:  donations may be made in memory of Msgr. Koplik, to Priests’ Retirement Fund, Archdiocese of Newark and The Judeo-Christian Studies Department at Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ.

Trevor A. Fennell

Trevor A. Fennell, 76, of Pearl River, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Theresa (nee Viglietta); the loving father of Trevor Fennell II and his wife Nicole of Hohokus, NJ; the cherished grandfather of Trevor III and Olivia; the dear brother of David Fennell and his wife Theresa of Teaneck, NJ and Frances Fennell of Miami, FL. He is survived by many loving relatives and dear friends who will most surely miss his warm company, quick sense of humor, and World Famous Rice & Peas. Trevor worked as a self-employed tile installer and owned Total Floor Service; he took great pride in his work and even greater pride in his family. Andrew S. Uveges

Andrew S. Uveges, 89, of Northvale, passed away at home on Monday, June 22, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Catherine T. (nee Breslin). Cherished father of Celine Benedetto and husband Thomas of Charlottesville, VA, Alice Setteducati of Northvale, Jeanne Chapman and husband Scott of Lake Worth, FL, Andrew Uveges of Monroe, NY and Stephen Uveges of Phoenicia, NY. Adored grandfather of Kim, John, Brianne, Shannon, Lyndsay, Catherine, Caitlin, Brandy, Drew and Sara and great-grandfather of Alicia, Andie, Riley, Brendan, Jaylyn, Breslin and Estella Rose. Dear brother of the late Jack, Alice Skinta and Robert.

Andrew was a US Navy veteran of World War II and belonged to the Northvale American Legion Post 162. Before retiring he was a self-employed model maker machinist. He was a member of the Rockland County Radio Controlled Airplane Club in New City. He also enjoyed boating on Lake George and collecting model trains and building train layouts.
