Joseph M. Annese

   Joseph M. Annese, 70, of Pearl River, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 12, 2012.  Devoted companion of Betty Lee Clements of Piermont.  Loving brother of Madge Carogana of Hackensack, Ted Annese and his wife Joan of Florida and sister-in-law Marie Annese.  Predeceased by his brother Gerard Annese and brother-in-law Anthony Carogana.

   Joe was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was an avid golfer, a faithful parishioner of St. John’s RC Church in Piermont and will be dearly missed by all his dear family and friends.

Miriam V. Blades

   Miriam, V. Blades (nee Gilchrist), 94, of Bergenfield, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012.   Beloved wife of the late Brandon.  Devoted mother of Susan Blankenberg and her husband Gary of Bayville, NY and Brandon Blades of Haworth.  Predeceased by her daughter Bonnie and daughter-in-law Elizabeth.   Adored grandmother of Bryan, Cara, Jennifer and Victoria and great-grandmother of Sophie, Anthony and Andrew.  Also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

   Mrs. Blades was a member of the Bonsai Club in Closter and belonged to the League of Women Voters.

   A funeral service will be held Monday 10:00 AM at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale with interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack.  Visiting will begin at 9:00 AM.

Vincent J. Cambareri

   Vincent J. Cambareri, 81, of Norwood, formerly of Northvale, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012.  Born March 27, 1930 in North Bergen.  Raised and schooled in Cliffside Park graduating CPHS 1948.  In 1948 began dating the love of his life, Josephine.  Year 1951 was both engagement and draft into the U.S. Army.  Served in Korean War with distinction, awarded Army Commendation Ribbon with metal pendant for meritorious service.  Discharged May 1953.  Married Josephine December 6, 1953.  Resided in Fairview, Cliffside Park and moved to Northvale in 1965.  Vincent became plant manager for Bell and Howell Printing Division in Lodi, NJ.  When Bell and Howell sold off printing divisions, Vincent and partner Frank Piccolo bought and ran Capco Business Systems for ten years.  His last seven years before retirement were spent working for Simkins Industries.  Following his retirement, Vincent became an active member and leader in his community.  He was president of the Northvale Golden Agers, Senior Vice-Commander of the Northvale VFW Memorial Post 162, a valued employee of the Pizzi Funeral Home and an active parishioner of St. Anthony’s, being an usher for many years.

   He was the beloved husband of 52 years to the late Josephine.  Cherished father of Laureen Lombardo and her husband Sal of Park Ridge, Lynn Butler of Norwood and Lisa Peters and her husband Chris of Ridgewood.  Adored and proud grandfather of Marissa, Austin, Craig, Logan, Matthew, Juliet and Renee.  Dearest brother of Mel and his wife Pat of NC and the late Rosemary.

   A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 10:30 AM at St. Anthony’s RC Church, Northvale.  Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale.

Christopher William Traudt

   Christopher William “Schultz” Traudt, 50, of Norwood, on Monday, March 12, 2012.  Beloved son and step-son of Robert, Traudt, Sr. and his wife Patricia.  Predeceased by his loving mother Mary.  Cherished brother of Robert Traudt, O. Carm. of Middletown, NY, JoAnne Knanishu and her husband Glenn of Tappan, NY, Laurie Traudt of Greenwood Lake, NY, Mary Traudt of Salsbury Mills, NY, Matthew Traudt and his wife Jeane of Northvale and John Traudt and his wife Joan of Hillsdale.  Adored uncle of Christina Knanishu and Shanna Leahy.

   Chris was a longtime member of the Sons of the American Legion Squad 272 in Norwood where he was the chaplain.

Steven Lepore

   Steven Lepore, 60, of Norwood, passed away at home on Saturday, February 25, 2012.  Beloved husband of Donna (nee Forkin).  Cherished father of Lindsay Cianci and her husband Christopher of New York City.  Adored grandfather of Finley Rose.  Loving brother of his twin, Arthur and his wife Patricia of Piermont, NY and Lori Carbone and her husband Rocco of Nanuet.  Also survived by many loving relatives and friends who will dearly miss him.

   Steven was co-owner of Confetti Restaurant in Piermont, which originally opened in Norwood in 1980.

Patricia A. Snyder

   Patricia A. Snyder(nee Goff) 81 of Norwood, on Friday, February 24, 2012.  Originally from Joliet, Illinois and then Teaneck, Pat was a kind and generous woman with many friends.

   The beloved wife of C. Bernard Snyder, cherished mother of Susan Clifford and her husband Michael, Craig Snyder and his wife Karen and Cynthia Snyder, adored Grammy of Kelly, Michael, Craig, Kristen, Kevin, Kaitlin and Ryan and dear great-grandmother of Reese and Patrick.  She is also survived by many cousins and friends.

   In addition to raising her children, Pat worked at the Teaneck Credit Union for many years.  She enjoyed ceramics, talking on the phone and sending care packages.  A mother and confidant to numerous people, her phone calls meant so much to so many.  She will be greatly missed.

   Funeral Mass will be Monday, 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, Norwood, NJ.  Interment, George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Paul A. Vilbig, Sr.

   Paul A. Vilbig, Sr., 51, of Gardiner, NY, formerly of Blauvelt, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.  Beloved husband of Arlene (nee Pecoraro).  Devoted father of Paul Vilbig, Jr. and Lauren Vilbig and her fiancee Brian Mackey.  Dear brother of Catherine Garbarini, Charles Vilbig, Jeanne Vilbig, Frank Vilbig and the late John and Margaret.  Loving uncle of 14 nieces and nephews.

Barbara M. Cooke

   Barbara M. Cooke (nee MacLachlan), 88, of Southington, CT, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012.  Predeceased by her husband Charles Joseph Cooke.  Devoted mother of Charles and his wife Christine of Old Tappan, Richard of Ocala, FL, Wayne of Plantsville, CT, Robert of East Haddam, CT and Gary of Ocala, FL.  Dearest sister of Phyllis Chopus of West Palm Beach, FL.  Step-mother of Daniel Cooke.  She was the adored grandmother of of five and great-grandmother of five.  Funeral services were private. Helen N. DiCola

   Helen DiCola (nee Norman), 84, longtime resident of Northvale, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, Feb 7th, 2012. Helen was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Charles and her son Jimmy. She is survived by son Chuck (wife Ulrike) of Hauppage, NY., Jimmy’s wife Rosanne of Old Tappan, NJ, daughter Patty of Tonawanda, NY and son Rich (wife Dianne) of Stony Point, NY. She was the sister of Ella Mae Livingston of Greensboro, NC and predeceased by brother James Norman and sister, Jeri Taylor both of NC. Helen was the wonderful and loving grandmother of James, Stephen, Tommy, Yolanda & Roseanne.

   Helen and Charles retired to Pinehurst, NC., in 1992 and enjoyed their golfing and retirement life.

   A Mass to celebrate her life will be on held on Sat., Feb. 11th at 9:30am at St. Anthony’s, Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the American Stroke Association at www.strokeassocaition.org.

Frank A. Prodigo

   Frank A. Prodigo, 88, a lifelong resident of Closter, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.  Beloved husband of Ines (nee Perez) for 23 years.  Devoted father of Richard “Skip” and his wife Kathy of Lincoln Park, Sandra Capasso and her husband Don of Harrington Park, and David and his wife Kelly of Dumont. Step-father of Carol Johnston of FL.  Adored grandfather of Denise, Lisa, Frank, Sherese, Stacey, Nicole, Nicholas, Jenna, Jordan and Billy and great-grandfather of eight.  Dearest brother and brother-in-law of Nino of Northvale, Janet and Ed Frohlich of Northvale, Loretta and Al Hermann of VA and Susan and Bill Essmann of Northvale.  Predeceased by his first wife Margaret, his sister Lucille “Toot” Amorosso and her husband Joseph, sister-in-law Phyllis  and daughter-in-law Beverly.    

   Frank was a draftsman for for Lederle Labs in Pearl River for over 42 years.  He was a Navy veteran of WWII, having served in the Pacific.  He served the boro of Closter as a councilman and was the police commissioner.  Mr. Prodigo was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Closter and was Past Grand Knight.  He was also past president of the Round Table Club in Northvale and was a parishioner of St. Mary’s RC Church in Closter.

   Frank  enjoyed fishing and spending his summers in Manasquan.
