Joseph W. Vitale, 67, of Norwood, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Beloved husband of Amelia (nee Gimino). Proud father of Samantha and the late Anthony. Loving brother of Theresa Smith and her husband Fred and the late Rose Brickwood. He is also survived by many other cherished family members and dear friends.

Joe was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. A devoted husband and father, Joe will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his passion for antique cars and his dedicated work ethic. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 1:30 PM at St. Anthony’s RC Church, Northvale. Visiting hours are Friday 5-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050).

Erika L. Wittrock (nee Loerz, 76, of Woodcliff Lake, NJ, formerly of Blauvelt, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Beloved wife of Norbert. Devoted mother of Jonny and wife Amy of Chester, NY and Chris and wife Jennifer of Park Ridge, NJ. Adored grandmother of Sebastian, Brandon, Clara, Emma, Charlotte and Brooks. Dearest sister of Gretel Bunz and Walter Loerz and his wife Christl.

Victoria Amanda Papalambros

Victoria Amanda Papalambros, 20, of Tappan, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018. Cherished daughter of George and Carol Papalambros. Loving sister of Christina, Kaitlynn and Alexander. Adored granddaughter of Angelo and Katey Papalambros and the late George and Florence Daher. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is also survived by her beloved cat Porsche.

Victoria’s smile illuminated a room.   Her laugh echoed. She was compassionate, loving and sympathetic to all people she encountered.   She loved children and would take the time to play and read to them. She will be one soul that will be sorely missed by many.

Hendra Wargo

Hendra Wargo (nee Siegel), of Port Jervis, NY, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the age of 75. Beloved wife of the late John G. “Jack” Wargo.  Cherished mother of Lisa Mirakaj and her husband Matt of Tappan and Dawn Palazzo and her husband Michael of Port Jervis, NY.  Adored grandmother of Maria, Anthony, Angela, Jill, Diana, Michael and Mandee and great-grandmother of Logan, Kaylee, Aria, Victoria, Sophia and Mandelin.

Hendra always lived life on her own terms as a truly unique individual. She deeply treasured her journeys aboard her houseboat on the Hudson River for many years. She is now set free to join her husband for new adventures upon the river. As Hendra would say, “Take it from me, I know these things.”

Leona Neuscheler

Leona Neuscheler, 80, of Northvale, passed away November 24, 2018. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, and was the beloved wife of the late Norbert Neuscheler. She was the devoted mother of Lorena and her husband Anthony Russo of Ringwood, NJ and Richard and his wife Nancy LaIacoma of Stanhope, NJ. Stepmother to Laura Neuscheler of Wayne, NJ and Michael and his wife Joan Neuscheler of Stamford, CT. Loving grandmother to Davin and the late Miranda LaIacoma, Christopher, Dylan, and Corinne Russo, Kristin and Danielle Neuscheler, Travis, Christopher, and Jena Neuscheler.

Leona was employed as a medical assistant and raised her family in Harrington Park. She moved to Northvale in 1985 and worked at Inmac Computer Supplies until her retirement at the age of 62 after which she joined the Northvale Ambulance Corps as an EMT.

Leona had a passion for traveling, reading, and was an avid fisherwoman. She was a member of the Red Hats Club and Golden Age Club.

Funeral services were private.

Donations in her name may be made to the Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Azizeh Emami-Khoei

Azizeh F. Emami-Khoei, 90, of Northvale, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Beloved mother of Maryam Arakelian and her husband Sam of Northvale. Adored grandmother of Lara, Andrew and Eric. Dearest sister of Negar Teymouraz, Guity Emami-Khoei and the late Danny Emami-Khoei.

Azizeh was a seamstress. She loved children and will be remembered as everyone’s grandma.

Visiting hours will be Friday 6-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale. The funeral will take place on Saturday morning at 10 AM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill.

Vito Saliani

Vito Saliani, 84, of Congers, NY, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Beloved husband of Mary (nee DiLauro). Devoted father of John and his wife Patricia of Stony Point, NY and Lisa Newton and her husband James of Hamburg, NY. Cherished grandfather of Michael, Alexandra, Nicole and the late Preston James. Dearest brother of Annie Atzenbeck and Donna DiStefano and her husband Ron.

Vito was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion in New City. He retired from the FDNY and belonged to the Florian Association, New City. Vito was an active member of the Blauvelt Sons of Italy as well as the West Nyack II Seniors.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday at St. Paul’s RC Church, Congers with interment to follow at Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead. Visiting hours are Tuesday 3-7 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ 07647 (201-767-3050).

Agnes R. Cacciola

Agnes R. Cacciola (nee DeLuca), 87 of Tappan passed away on , Thursday, November 22 after a long illness which she bravely fought. Agnes was born on October 11, 1931 in Binghamton, New York to Antonio and Josephine (nee DeBella) DeLuca. She was the wife of the late Agatino Cacciola and mother to Camille Paolino of Chatham, NJ, and Joseph Cacciola and his wife Sandra of Wilbraham, MA. She enjoyed and cherished her time with her grandchildren, Jenna Morin and husband David, Nicholas Charles and husband Arthur, Paul Cacciola and wife Jordan, and Jamie Paolino. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph DeLuca, his companion Marie and family, and brother-in-law Daniel and wife Nancy, along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Agnes was employed in Orangetown School District and then by Lamont Doherty Geological Observatory of Palisades, NY, for 22 years. She was the past president of the Romanesque Lodge # 2198 from 1983 to 1985, as well as a proud member for 45 years. She was also a member of the Orangetown Seniors, the Order Sons of Italy, and the Catholic Daughters of America, serving in several positions.

 

Visiting hours are scheduled at the Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale, NJ, on Wednesday from 3 to 6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan, NY at 10 AM on Thursday. Entombment will follow at the Garden of Memories, Washington Twp, N.J.

Theresa A. Scarangello

Theresa A. Scarangello, 87, of Tappan, NY, passed away on October 30 after a brief illness.

Theresa was employed by NY telephone and subsequently AT&T where she held numerous management positions until she retired after 28 years of service.

Simultaneously she worked at Bamberger’s/Macy’s selling cosmetics. She was a wonderful salesperson due to her energetic and vivacious personality.

She is survived by her son Michael of Montvale, NJ, son Peter and wife Cheryl of Nanuet and their children Nicholas, Joseph and Steven and daughter Debra Mahoney and husband Frank.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of this incredible woman.
