Margaret I. Keely, 95, of Norwood, formerly of Closter, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Frederick. Cherished mother of Joan Villone and husband David of New Milford and Jennifer Amendola and husband Anthony of Piermont. Adored grandmother of Serafino, Alexandra and Samantha. Dearest sister of the late Mae Hessler, Constance Ford and Natalie Kilmurray. Also survived by nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Margaret was an avid Yankee and Giants fan, enjoyed golf with her husband Fred, trips to the casinos and playing cards with her friends at Fox Hill. Before retiring she worked at Arwood in Rockleigh and Scholastic in Englewood Cliffs. She was a member of the Norwood and Northvale Senior Centers.

Arlene M. Basso, 77, of Tappan, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband Richard and sons Brian Pecoraro and Thomas Basso. Beloved mother of Joey and Michele Pecoraro, Kim Pecoraro, Peter and Donna Pecoraro, Arlene Pecoraro, Michele and Greg Tomasello, Joseph and Sharon Basso and Linda and Anthony Yacovelli. Philip T. Cabot

 

Philip T. Cabot, 66, of Norwood, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Beloved husband of Rose (nee Baig). Loving father of Kenneth and wife Sanjida of Long Island, Mark and wife Renu of South Windsor, CT and Allison of Brooklyn. Cherished grandfather of Tiernan, Aakhil, Maxwell and Elias. Dearest brother of Holly Cabot. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.

Philip was a senior manager for Volvo in Rockleigh for many years. He was an active volunteer for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children). He also enjoyed being a member of the Rockland Radio Control Club.

Mary D. Macchia

 

Mary D. Macchia, 96, of Midland Park, formerly of Little Ferry and Jersey City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Beloved wife of the late George A. Macchia. Loving mother of Domenick and wife Sandra of Hasbrouck Heights, George M. and wife Joni of Wyckoff and the late Andrew and wife Barbara. Adored grandmother of Mark and wife Kim, Denise and husband Joe, Danielle, David, Kristin, Kevin and Carol and great-grandmother of Max, Karina, Jackson, Sarah, Nicholas, Stevyns and the beloved family pets. Dearest sister of the late James and Dominic.

Mary will always be remembered as being a loving and caring mother who lived for her family. She was selfless and a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of St. Margaret’s in Little Ferry and Our Lady of Victories in Jersey City.

William G. (Gil) Masten

 

On Sunday, February 11, 2018, surrounded by family, William G. (Gil) Masten, was called into the arms of Jesus. He had just celebrated his 93rd birthday in January. Gil worked for more than 30 years at Bergen County Utilities as an electrician. After retiring, he worked for Rapid Meter and then Belveduto Electric. Following this, he drove a school bus. Gil was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. There wasn’t a toy, mechanical device, or household object that he couldn’t fix. There wasn’t a second that he wasn’t willing to sit with his grandchildren or great grandchild to play cars, read a book, complete a puzzle, or just be. There wasn’t a day that all of us didn’t know we were loved unconditionally.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Gwendolyn, Louaine, and Helen; and two brothers, Jerry and Theodore. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Antonina (Nina) Nadwodny Masten; daughter and son-in-law Susan Masten and Simon Davies of Okemos, MI.; daughter Barbara Masten of East Stroudsburg, PA.; son and daughter-in-law William J. and Susan Masten of River Vale, NJ; son and daughter-in-law Steven and Roberta Masten of Wayne, NJ. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Jennie (Adam) John, Joseph (Kelli) Murphy, Paulette Murphy, Quentin Masten-Davies, Erica Masten, Jeffrey Masten-Davies, Alicia Masten, and Steven Masten and his great grandchildren: Christopher John, Lyla Murphy, Noah Paul, and Kenzie John. He is also survived by his canine children: Lady, Heidi, and Gee Lee.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Anthony Church, 199 Walnut St, Northvale, NJ 07647. A luncheon reception to celebrate Gil’s life and love will follow at Bergen County Health Care Chapel at 35B Piermont Rd., Rockleigh, NJ 07647.

Cecilia V. Rampolla, a lifelong resident of Northvale passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Beloved wife of Frank. Cherished mother of Lisa Bernardo and husband David of Oradell, Steven and wife Christine of East Brunswick and Michael and wife Courtney of Northvale. Adored nana of Ashley, Alex, Maria, Sofia and Joey. Dear sister of Theresa Governale, Samuel Amorosso, Charles Amorosso and the late Palma Andico, Laura Molinaro, Joseph Amorosso, Rocco Amorosso and Dominick Amorosso and sister-in-law of Stanley Molinaro, Barbara Amorosso, Joan Amorosso, Elaine Amorosso, Robert Rampolla, Ronald Rampolla and the late Val Andico, Lucille Amorosso, Edward Governale, and Yolanda Pastor. She is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.

Ceil was above all a dedicated and devoted wife, mother and nana and will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She worked for MDR, LLC in West Orange for 15 years as an office manager.

Thomas O. Weilbacker

 

Thomas O. Weilbacker, age 87, of Northvale, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary, sons Thomas, Allan, Steven, and John, grandchildren Elaine, Allan Jr., Amanda, Emily, Steven Jr., Andrew, Rachel, Madeleine, and Christopher, and great-grandchildren Alexander, Jason, Allan III, Thomas, and Madalynn.

Tom is a Naval veteran of the Korean War who was stationed in the Mediterranean Sea onboard the USS Philippine Sea. Afterwards he worked at the Aerospace Division of Bendix Corporation for 35 years. He earned his Bachelors and Master’s degrees from Fairleigh Dickenson University.

Anthony G. Gangeri, 89, of Norwood for 62 years, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Beloved husband of Mildred. Devoted father of Ronald Gangeri, Joyce Cerbasi and husband Philip and Nancy Congiusti and husband Dominick, all of Norwood. Cherished grandfather of Anthony Gangeri, Marnie and Mike Zansitis, Kimberly Faustini, David and Tara Drucker, Kate Cerbasi, Jennifer and Branden Moran, Julie and Chris Krcmaric and Michael and Keri Congiusti. Adored great-grandfather of Steven Faustini, Amelia Plescia, Shane and Danica Zansitis, Dalia and Daxton Drucker and Emmeline Krcmaric. Dearest brother of Catherine Scaglione (deceased) and husband John, David Gangeri and wife Beverly, Rosalie DeSena and husband David and Arthur Gangeri and wife Beth.

Tony was first and foremost a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was the owner of Gangeri’s Garden Center and Power Equipment in Englewood for many years before retiring and founded the Bergen County Landscape Association. He also dedicated his life to community service. He was a councilman and police commissioner in Norwood in the 1980’s. Tony was a 60 year life member of the Norwood Volunteer Fire Company and was Fire Chief from 1973-74 and was a life member of the NJ State Exempt Fireman’s Assoc. as well as the Interborough Mutual Aid Assoc. of which he was past president. In retirement, Tony was also a crossing guard for almost 10 years. He also belonged to Kiwanis International.

Patrick Joseph Pellicano

Patrick Joseph Pellicano, 92, of River Vale, formerly of Blauvelt, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Beloved husband of Angela (nee Capicotto). Loving father of Donna Swann and husband Alvin of SC, Lawrence Pellicano and wife Julie of MO and Lisa Pfeifer of Hillsdale. Adored grandfather of Gina, Zachary, Rachel, Kimberly, Nicole, James and the late Christa and great-grandfather of Zoe and Nyla. Dearest brother of Mildred Vero and the late Mary Vomero, Dominick Pellicano and Theresa Mastropolo.

Patrick was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He went on to serve as a police officer for the NYPD and received the Medal of Honor. He was also a life member of the VFW and belonged to the Blauvelt Sons of Italy.
