Carol-Ann R. Capabianca

Carol-Ann R. Capabianca (nee Tucci), 81, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019. Beloved wife of Leonard A.  Cherished mother of Leonard A.,  Jr. and wife Linda of Northvale, Toni Macchio and husband Steven of Northvale, Dean and wife Cheryl of Old Tappan and Loretta Esola and husband Richard of Arcadia, FL. Proud grandmother of Erica, Sabrina, Jennifer, Steven, Jr., Dean, Jr., Anthony, Toni-Rose, Jesse, Shane and Matthew. Adored great-grandmother of Aria, Eliana, Bodhi and Wyatt. Dearest sister of Louis Tucci and wife Mildred of Lodi, Patricia Jacoby of NC and the late Elena and Anthony.

Known to all as “Mrs. C”, Carol-Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and friend and touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church, Northvale where she was a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She also belonged to the Northvale Democratic Club and enjoyed coaching cheerleading and loved her arts and crafts.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 9 from 6-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050). A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Church on Saturday, August 10 at 10 AM.

Robert J. Bolender

Robert J. Bolender, 63, of Spring Valley, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. Beloved husband of Linda J. (nee Farley).  Loving brother of Linda Williams and husband William of Wanaque, NJ and Susan Bolender of Forked River, NJ. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Bob worked at Window Designs by Powers in Northvale for over 20 years.

James A. Keaney

James A. Keaney, 78, of Norwood, NJ passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019. Beloved husband of Bridie (nee Burke). Cherished father of James A. Keaney, Jr. of Cheshire, CT and Karen Keaney of Norwood. Proud grandfather of Mackenzie, Katrina, Cassidy and Liam. Dearest brother of Mena, Eugene, Michael, Teresa, Pauline, Joseph, Angela and the late Patrick, Desmond and Gerald. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Jim was an operating engineer for the NYC Board of Education for over 40 years. He loved to play golf and was a member of the Links Golf Club in Unionvale, NY and the Gaelic Golf Club. He was also a devoted parishioner of Immaculate Conception RC Church, Norwood.

Ross Gristina

Ross Gristina, 68, of Tappan, NY, formerly of the Bronx, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 20, 2019. Beloved husband of Josephine (nee Fiorino). Cherished father of Maria Villani and her husband Michael of Ridgewood, NJ and Joe Gristina of Tappan. Beloved son of Mary and Joe Gristina. Proud grandfather of Luca. Dearest brother of Phyllis Battaglia.

George W. Stevens

George W. Stevens, 85, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019. A resident of Norwood for over 50 years, he was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine (nee Whitaker). Loving father of George H. and wife Kathy of Southaven, MS, Dale and wife Kelly of Norwood, Janice Finch of Chester, and the late James. Adored grandfather of Samantha, Gary, Marie, Courtney, George Michael and Madison and great-grandfather of six. Dearest brother of Mary Lou Stevens of OH and the late Robert.

George was a five time Emmy Award winning editor for ABC Television in NYC. He was a US Army veteran. George was a devoted family man, a loyal friend and a die-hard fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and the NJ Devils, he will be dearly missed.

Josephine S. Chiandusse

Josephine S. Chiandusse (nee Bono), 93, a lifelong resident of Northvale, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Enso. Loving mother of Jo-Ann Sillery and husband William of Northvale, Gene Chiandusse and late wife Judy of Mentone, CA and Richard Chiandusse and wife Karen of Northvale. Cherished grandmother of Liam, David, Jan and Christopher and great-grandmother of Myla and Josephine. Dearest sister of Stephanie Cole, Mary Rhodes and the late John, Ida, Louis, Virginia and Ann.

Josephine was a bookkeeper for Allyn and Bacon in Rockleigh.

Known to her family as “Non”, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was deeply loved.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 12 noon at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.

Dorothy V. Kelly

Dorothy V. Kelly, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 16, 2019 after a brief but strong battle against cancer. She is predeceased by her Husband Jack Kelly to whom she was married for 63 years! She is survived by her two sons: Steve, and his wife Genny; and Donald; by her three grandchildren of whom she was extremely proud: Tom and his wife Kim, Megan and Jim; and by more than a dozen nieces and nephews. She loved them all!

Her life took her far beyond her beginnings on Sedgewick Avenue in the Bronx.  Dorothy started life splitting time in her early years between the Bronx and summers in Asbury Park, NJ. After careers with both Paramount Pictures, and Shell Oil Co, Dorothy married and began raising a family. Dorothy & Jack were fortunate enough to live in many places and leave behind wonderful friendships from their time in Ft Lee, NJ; New City, NY for 18 Years; Rio Pierdras, Puerto Rico; Bloomfield Hills MI, finally retiring for wonderful years in Hilton Head SC.

Dorothy will be remembered for her smile, her generosity, her devotion to family and friends, her love of dogs and of course her beloved NY Yankees!

A Christian Mass will be held at St Catherine’s Church Blauvelt, NY on Tuesday July 23 at 11AM. Visiting hours are Monday July 22 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ (201-767-3050).

Frank R. Murphy

Frank R. Murphy, 84, of Norwood, NJ, formerly of Northvale, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. He was born in the Bronx and grew up in West New York before raising a family in Northvale in 1965. Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife Josephine. Cherished father of Debra Konzelmann and her husband Robert of Howell, NJ and Lisa Kopac and her husband Michael of Tappan, NY. Proud Pop Pop of Elissa, Robert, Vanessa, Lauren Jo, Katie and Alexandra. Also survived by his loving companion Fran D’Andrea.

Frank was a US Army veteran. He served on the Northvale Board of Education for many years and was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception RC Church, Norwood. Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Mario J. “Skippy” Marchiano

Mario J. Marchiano “Skippy”, 85, of Norwood, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Mary. Beloved brother of Angelo and his late wife Aurelia, late brother Thomas and late sister Marie. Cherished uncle of many nephews and nieces.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Norwood, where Skippy was a devoted parishioner for many years, on Wednesday, July 17 at 11 AM. Brian Williams, Jr.

Brian Williams, Jr., 56, of Old Tappan, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  Beloved husband of Kristine (née Caruso) Williams.  Proud father of Marissa and Haley Williams.  Devoted son of Virginia and the late Brian Williams, Sr.  Loving brother of Karen Lindner and April Wheeler.  Cherished son-in-law of Lucille Schoales and John and Carol Caruso.  Dear brother-in-law of Michael Schoales, Jessica Amaral and Timothy Schoales.  Favorite uncle of Kingston, Marley and Lola.

Brian worked as a manager for DVTEL, Inc. in Ridgefield Park for more than 10 years.  He adored his children and always made sure he attended their sporting events.  He was renowned as the “Team Dad”!   Brian enjoyed all of his children’s other extracurricular activities as well.
