
Joan P. Butterworth (nee Glaser), 89, of Norwood, NJ passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Walter, Caring mother of Dan and his wife Ceidys, Cathy Verdigi and her late husband John, Chuck and his wife Donna, and Jim and his wife Laura. Loving grandmother of Dan, Ryan, Jeremy, Jaime, Jessica, Taylor, Allison, Nicole, David and Christian. Proud great-grandmother of Joshua, Avery, John, Aiden, Olivia, Calhaun, Charlotte, James, Sydney, Brian, Daniel and Brittany. Cherished sister of Connie Ercolino and her late husband Ritchie. She is also survived by many loving friends and relatives.
A lifelong resident of Norwood, Joan served as a crossing guard in town for many years. She was a devoted parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church where she served as a CCD teacher and helped the parish in any way that she could. She also worked as an office manager for Arthur Weinberg, DDS.
Joan was a tough, big-hearted woman. She was always willing to lend a hand, helping anyone in need with her generosity and love. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 4-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Norwood, NJ. Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to Fr. Franco Pinto at S.D.B. Salesians Provincial, 148 Main Street, New Rochelle, New York, 10802.
