Daniel F. Salvia

Daniel F. Salvia, age 93, of Sparkill, NY, died Thursday, Sept 1, at home. Beloved husband of the late Therese (nee Duffy), and resident of Sparkill for 48 years, Daniel was born in Brooklyn, lived for a short time in Berwick, PA and later in the Bronx. He was a US Army Veteran of WW2 serving in the Pacific as a light artillery instructor. He retired from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority after a career of over 35 years starting as a car maintainer and rising to Chief of Operations. Daniel was an active member of St. Anthony’s Parish in Northvale and a member of the Perry Post American Legion in Sparkill. He is predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Robert. He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephew and all his many friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Anthony’s Church with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ (201-767-3050)
