Maria Pulice, age 64, of Harrington Park, New Jersey, passed away Friday morning, September 30, 2011, in Englewood Hospital. Born and raised in New York, Maria moved to New Jersey in 1981. Maria was a dedicated teacher with the Fort Lee School System for 42 years. She also served tirelessly as the President of the Fort Lee Education Association. She earned many accolades during her education career including Teacher of the Year. She will be remembered as a loving and caring person. Maria was predeceased by her husband, Antonio Pulice. She was the devoted mother of Derek Pulice, of Harrington Park, and dear sister of Camille Mailman of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, Valerie Guido of Naples, Florida, and John Battiato of San Antonio, Texas. Maria is also survived by 9 nieces, 6 nephews, 5 great nieces and 7 great nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM on Tuesday at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale, New Jersey (www.pizzifuneralhome.com). A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at 11 AM on Wednesday at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her name to the St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
