Daniel (Donal) Dennehy, 86, of Tappan, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018. Beloved husband of Bernadette (nee Doyle) for 59 years. Cherished father of Daniel and wife Kathleen of Stony Point, Anne Swann and husband Todd of Tappan, John and wife Jeannie of Piermont, Bernadette Wiese and husband Larry of Dumont, Sheila D’Auria and husband Joe of Orangeburg and Philip and wife Debbie of Tappan. Proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Agnes, brothers, Philip and Sean and sister, Sheila.
Daniel was born in Queens, NY but was raised in Dublin Ireland where he met the love of his life. Daniel and Bernadette emigrated to New York in 1957 where they were married and raised their family.
Daniel was a member of the NYC District Council of Carpenters. He retired as a Supervisor of Carpenters from the NYC Board of Education. He was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Tappan, an avid set dancer and member of the Pearl River Ceili Set Dancing Group, a Scout Master for over 20 years and was a lifelong Pioneer.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps, 70 Independence Ave, Tappan, NY 10983 or Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church would be greatly appreciated.

Our sincere condolences to Bernadette and all the family. Dan will be sorely missed at the ceili in Pearl River where he always had a smile and warm greetings for everyone. He was one in a million. Rest in peace Dan.
