Gaetano Giordano

Gaetano Giordano, 63, of Blauvelt, NY, formerly of Sicily, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Josephine (nee Alaimo). Devoted father of three daughters; Giovanna Williams and husband Brian, of Nanuet, Francesca Maniscalco and husband Salvatore, of Chantilly, VA and Dr. Stephanie Giordano and husband Lazar Nikolic, of NYC. Cherished son of Domenica and the late Francesco. Proud Nonno of Isabella, Sophia, Luca, Nathan, Marco, Brandon, Natasha and Austin. Dear brother of Maria Giordano and Sebastian. He is also survived by so many loving relatives and friends.

Gaetano immigrated to the United States from Castellammare del Golfo when he was 17 years old. There, he met the love of his life and they would marry and go on to build so much over their 46 years together. In their early 20’s, through hard work and a mastery of his craft, he created Panorama and turned it into a thriving jewelry manufacturing business in NYC.

Gaetano had a great love of the outdoors, which led him to a life of adventure and travel. He and his wife visited many places, climbed many mountains, walked many trails, rode many horses, and navigated many shores. Always together. No matter where their travels took them, simply being together was always their greatest passion.

He spent many days on his land, with his dog, creating and building. He saw possibility and opportunity when others couldn’t. He looked at a barren pasture and turned it into a family farm where countless memories were made and will continue to be made forever.

But perhaps the greatest thing he built was his family. He was a man of action and led by example. His girls learned life’s lessons by watching how he lived, with qualities like patience, a quiet generosity, forgiveness, and most of all, the importance of being together.

He will be honored and celebrated and missed by so many.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 11:30 AM at St. Catharine’s RC Church, Blauvelt, NY, with entombment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-5 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ (201-767-3050).
