John D. Settle

John D. Settle, 56, of Bardonia, NY, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Loving husband of Suzanne (nee Olson). Adored father of Olivia and Sophia. Beloved brother of Jackie Catalano and her husband Charlie and their children, Alexandra and Nicholas. Dear nephew of Jack Stewart. Also survived by his in-laws, Gail and Kenneth Olson, grandmother-in-law Alice Schmutz , sister in law Erika Durso and her husband John and their children Bella, Anthony, Chloe and Dominic and brother in law Billy Olson.

John was predeceased by his loving parents, Curtis Settle and Carol Stewart and his brother Curt.

John owned and operated Floor Master Inc., a wood floor restoration company in Rockland County for over 25 years.

Visiting hours are Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 1-4 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 11 AM with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Nyack, NY.

    We are so sorry to hear of John’s passing our deepest condolences to his family. We got to know John when he performed flooring services for us. His work was outstanding and he did more than expected while always being fair. He was a true professional. We got to know John and we would have conversations about various topics and he was knowledgeable, positive and funny, it was always a pleasure speaking to him. John was truly a great guy ! This news was hard to believe – Peace and prays to John’s family during this very difficult time.

    John coached my youngest daughter Aless in softball for the Clarkstown Girls Softball League from 8 to 12 years. John was a great coach & a heck of a nice guy.
    We are deeply saddened by the Settle family’s loss.
