Gloria R. Rubner

Gloria R. Rubner (nee Gissoni), 98, a lifelong resident of Northvale, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022. Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Harold. Loving mother of Joan Giovinazzo and her husband Sam and the late Carole Carr and her late husband Thomas. Cherished grandmother of Tommy Carr, Cathleen Carr Cassidy, Kenneth Boede and Michael Boede and his wife Elizabeth. Proud great-grandmother of Ryan, Christopher, Caroline, Landon, Isabela and Charlotte. Also survived by many dear relatives and friends.

Gloria retired as a secretary for Volvo in Rockleigh. She was a member of the McGuire Senior Center, Northvale Golden Age Club and was on the Christian Fellowship Committee of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Closter. A selfless woman, she was involved in many charitable organizations including Meals-On-Wheels.

Gloria had a positive impact on everyone she encountered, below was one of her favorite quotes which summarized her daily life:

“I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness that I can show; Let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again.”

Visiting hours are Thursday November 3, 2022 from 4-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050). A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Closter with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gloria’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s Church, 171 Closter Dock Rd, Closter 07624.
