Henry Carmelo Rubano, Jr., 80, of Tappan, NY, passed away at home on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Beloved husband of Rose (nee Russo). Loving father of Enrico Rubano and his wife Johanna and Christina Rubano-Lau. Proud grandfather of Angelina, Nicholas, Ricky and Scarlett. Dear brother of Joanne Rubano and beloved uncle of her sons Thomas and Paul Campanella.
Henry was a proud US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Long Beach and USS Hissem as a Radar man in the South Pacific. Before retiring Henry was a computer technician for Western Union International in NYC. He was a member of the DAV in Bergenfield and the Orangeburg Senior Center.
His smile and his laugh where infectious he loved telling stories about his life .
He loved food and music of many different kinds and loved talking to people were ever he went .
His kind, jovial and gregarious spirit will be missed dearly by many especially his family and close friends.
Visiting hours are Friday, September 29,2023 from 3-5 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Anthony’s RC Church, Northvale, NJ with interment to follow at Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Henry’s memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Northern Valley Chapter 32, 8 Veterans Plaza, Bergenfield, NJ 07621.
