Peter DeStefano “Pebo”, 86, of Tappan, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. Beloved husband of 66 years to Dorothy (nee Rubbo). Devoted father of Donna Grasso and her husband Mario, Annette Ciallella and her husband Ricky, Pete DeStefano and his wife Alisa and Joe DeStefano. Proud Pebo to Nicole and husband Mike, Alexandra and husband Mark, Jessica, Marissa, Jenna and husband Dominic, Alexa, Jake, Sofia, Angelina, Jovanna and the late Richard. Great-grandfather of Cru, Penelope and Luca. Brother-in-law of Helen and Kathy. Predeceased by his sisters, Faustina Pagnotta, Mildred Prisco, and Marie DeStefano, brothers, Michael DeStefano and Joseph DeStefano.

Pete was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a loyal friend to many. After graduating high school, Pete attended the NY School of Printing and opened his first business at the age of 21. He owned and operated Alpine Labels in the Bronx before retiring. Always active, Pete was a member of Rockland Country Club, Sparkill, Sons of Italy Rockland Lodge 2176, Blauvelt, the Friars Club and the Nyack Hospital Foundation. He was also the founder of Bright Future Foundation for Autism as well as the Ron Greschner Foundation. Pete was also a passionate Thoroughbred owner and breeder for many years and loved animals of all kinds, especially his favorite dog Paulie. Pete was a masterful storyteller and loved jokes and kidding around, especially with his grandchildren. He was fun-loving, generous and touched the lives of everyone he met.

Visiting hours are Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 1-6 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 18, 2024 at 11 AM at St. Anthony’s RC Church, 199 Walnut Street, Northvale with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Joe Raso Hospice, www.unitedhospiceinc.org, would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Pete was one of a kind. Loved his stories and his great sense of humor. He was a delight to be with and he left me with wonderful memories.

So sorry for your loss I know how loved he was by Jenna & family but Pray that Jesus Beautiful Words of Peace & Encouragement In Gospel of John chapter 11 verse 25 -26 “ I Am the Resurrection and the Life he that Believes in Me though he was dead Yet He Will Live And whoever lives and Believes In Me Shall Never Die then Jesus asked Do you Believe This ??
