George Olmo, 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Born March 30, 1940, in New York, New York, George was a longtime resident of Closter and Northvale, New Jersey. He was the owner and operator of 21st Century Finishing Inc. in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, and proudly served in the United States Army.

George was predeceased by his beloved wife of 47 years, Maria (Doto) Olmo; his parents, Francesco and Josephine Olmo; and his siblings Theresa Delorme, Carmela Scalice, Anthony Olmo, and Vincent Olmo.

He is survived by his sisters, Anne Frato and Victoria Bonadio, along with his 23 beloved nieces and nephews, including one who predeceased him.

George is also survived by his longtime partner, Karen DeMaio and her family, whose loving care and companionship brought him great comfort, particularly during his illness and final days.

George will be remembered for his quick sense of humor, generous heart, and deep concern for the people he loved. He cared deeply for his siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He loved good food, fine wine, conversation, and laughter, and shared with his family an appreciation for their Italian roots, traditions, and time spent together around the table.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects onTuesday, September 29, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale. A Catholic Vigil Service will begin at 6:30 pm. Military honors will also be rendered by the U.S. Army Honor Guard during the visitation

Dominick Costantino, 86, of Montvale, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.  Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Sce).  Loving father of Michelle Glennon and her husband Sean, Nicholas Costantino and his wife Marisol, and Dominick Costantino Jr. and his wife Marilynn.  Loving grandfather of Jonathan, Stephanie and her husband Gabriele, Emily, Nicholas, Julia and Jamie.  Proud brother of Nicholas and John Costantino.  He was predeceased by his parents Nicola and Rosaria, and his brother Joseph.  He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.  

Dominick owned and operated Accurate Tool & Die in North Arlington, NJ with his partner for over 40 years.  In his free time, he enjoyed cooking and being outdoors, especially golfing or snowmobiling.  He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandkids, granddogs and friends.  

The people that loved Dominick referred to him as Pop, Grandpa, Mr. C, The Nine, and Nini.  But what defined him was not his name.  He was a husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend first. He loved and cared for all of them with his actions, not always his words.  

He was loyal, honest, fun, extremely organized and strived for that perfect ten but landed at “The Nine”. He documented all our memories and moments with photos and videos.  The grandchildren were brainwashed throughout their lives with numerous songs, old and new, and his grandpa-isms.  

He truly lived his best life, his way, surrounded by his family and friends.

Charles Durkee “Durk” Snowden III lived his final years in Northvale, New Jersey. Always the unofficial mayor of wherever he lived, Durk found friends and created smiles wherever he went.

Durk was born in Delaware to Chip and Patricia Snowden on June 26, 1967, and was raised in Mobile, Alabama. He later lived in Key West and New York City, where he worked as a chef. The next chapter of his life brought him to the retail world, where he met his wife, Sarah, whom he supported as she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a physician. They married in Jamaica in 2012 and made their home together in New York City.

They welcomed their son, Charles Durkee Snowden IV, “Charlie,” who became the center of their world. In 2019, they moved to Northvale, New Jersey, where Durk continued to amass a cadre of new friends while nurturing the friendships he had collected throughout every previous chapter of his life.

Durk loved his time in nature, whether on the hiking trails near home, on his annual 12-hour walks, or during his cherished trips to Maine. At home, he could most often be found cooking amazing meals for Sarah and Charlie or being the world’s best host, always remembering his guests’ favorite dishes. He loved planning meals for big occasions, especially Christmas Eve dinner with his sister-in-law, Rachel.

Durk was also a voracious reader, finishing several books each week. When giving someone a book recommendation, it was not unusual for him to quietly pull out his phone and order a copy for that person before the conversation was even over.

Looking out for others was where Durk truly shone. Even when he was unwell himself, his instinct was to find ways to help someone else. He raised money for others, including through his annual St. Jude walk. But his generosity went far beyond monetary gifts. He was known to make food, pick up groceries, or simply show up when he knew someone was sick or in need—even when he himself was not at his best.

Durk leaves behind countless friends and neighbors from Alabama, New York, New Jersey, Key West, South Africa, and Italy, to name only a few. His best friend and woman of honor, Jessica Ponchak, is just one example of how age, gender, and physical distance never hindered his ability to nurture a true friendship.

Durk’s family and found family are too numerous to name. He is survived by his wife, Sarah, who spent more than half of her life loving and growing alongside him, and who credits Durk with shaping so much of the person she became and teaching her the true meaning of empathy and kindness; and his son, Charlie, who carries forward his father’s wit, gregariousness, and compassion.

He is also survived by his siblings, including his brother Bill, who describes Durk as his idol; his sister-in-law Monica and niece Maya; and his nephew Liam, who was always his best audience. His in-laws never considered Durk anything less than a son, brother, uncle, or cousin. They include Larry, Carol, Rachel, Tom, Emma, Luke, Jodi, Ken, and Sadie.

More than anything, Durk will be remembered for the way he made people feel: welcomed, cared for, fed, entertained, and loved. He built community wherever he went, and the friendships and family he created along the way are his legacy.

Visitation will be held at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, New Jersey, on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 p.m.

Paul A. Walther, 88, of Norwood, NJ, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026.  Beloved husband of the late Theresa (nee Macchio) and the late Barbara (nee Hatem).  Loving father of Patricia Lukas and her husband Todd, and Paul T. Walther and his wife Christa.  Proud grandfather of Theresa (Jay), Cameron (Megan), Aidan (Mary), Joe (Madison), Pierce (Emily), Bryce and Stephen, and great-grandfather of Chloe, Cohen, Aurora, Henry, Eliza and Avery.

Paul was a lifelong resident of Norwood.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and an active member of American Legion Post 366.  He owned and operated American Chimney Corporation for over 50 years.  Paul was an avid golfer who loved playing and spending time with his friends at Old Tappan Golf Course.  He loved to laugh and joke keeping his sense of humor until the end.  He was one-of-a-kind and his presence brightened the room.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Evelyn Tighe (née Devaney), 92, of Palisades, NY, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

Beloved wife of Denis Tighe. Loving mother of Morgan Tighe and Bernadette Vero and her husband, Anthony. Caring grandmother of Grace (Chris), Reed, Laura (Timothy), Michael, and Maria (Matthew), and great-grandmother of Victoria Evelyn. She is also survived by many loving friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Alice, and her four siblings.

Evelyn was born in Sligo, Ireland. She trained in England, beginning a lifetime of nursing that took her throughout England, Ireland, New York City, and Rockland County. Evelyn met the love of her life, Denis, in Sligo, where they were neighbors. They eventually came to the United States and were married at Sacred Heart Church in the Bronx, NY. Their children, Morgan and Bernadette, were born in the Bronx, and the family later made their home in Palisades, NY, where they built a life filled with family, love, and cherished memories.

Those who knew Evelyn will remember her for the warmth and kindness she shared so freely. Evelyn always met you with a warm welcome and gave people her time, her heart, and her home. Her door was always open, and she welcomed family, friends, and loved ones, often giving them a place to stay and making them feel as though they were part of the family. She had a generous spirit and a gift for making people feel comfortable, cared for, and at home.

James T. Newton, 81, of Parrish, Florida, formerly of Saddle River, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Jim was predeceased by his beloved son, James G. Newton, and his parents, James and Christine Newton. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (née Buonocore); his daughter, Jennifer Newton-Abels and her wife, Alicia; and his stepchildren, Lisa Bruno, Richard A. Bruno, Jr., Andrea Dykstra and her husband, Nick, and Christopher Bruno.

Jim was a devoted husband and father whose family meant so much to him. He will be remembered for his love of life, his sense of humor, and the many memories he created with the people who loved him.

A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Jim served from 1966 to 1970 and was a member of the Air Force Golf Team. He went on to enjoy a long and successful career as a Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors in Paramus, where he worked for more than 45 years and served as First Vice President of Investments.

Outside of work, Jim knew how to enjoy himself. He loved playing billiards and golf with friends, but poker held a special place in his heart—especially Texas Hold’em. He entered as many tournaments as he could, including the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Those who knew Jim will remember the enjoyment he found around a poker table and the friendships and stories that came along with it.

Above all, Jim will be deeply missed by Linda, his family, and all those whose lives he touched. His memory, and the life they shared together, will remain in their hearts always.

Valerie Barney Kinnally, of Old Tappan, died Wednesday, September 9, 2026. She was 71. Born September 17, 1954, the daughter of Melva Barney and the late Paul Barney, she was the beloved wife of Thomas J. Kinnally, whom she married on July 26, 1986, at the Copacabana in New York, and the devoted mother of Lauren Michelle Kinnally, Tracy Austin Kinnally, and Daniel Thomas Kinnally.

A graduate of New York’s High School of Art and Design and a talented painter, she left a Wall Street job to raise her family and remained a dedicated homemaker for the rest of her life. She is also survived by her mother, Melva Barney; her sisters Carolyn VanZorge, Lorl VanZorge, Marjorie Fischer, Yvonne Hodgdon, Edwyna Weiss, and Nicole Martyniv; and by Peanut, her beloved Jack Russell Terrier.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday, September 14, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 15, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 268 Old Tappan Road, Old Tappan, with Rev. Kevin M. Kilgore as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Rosewood Mausoleum, Hartsdale, New York.

Martin William Potter, Jr., 84, of Harrington Park, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, September 11, 2026. Beloved spouse for 63 years to Carol Ann (nee Smith). Loving father of Kim Andersen and her husband James, Becky Dippolito and her husband Chris, and Elizabeth Budinich and her husband Craig. Caring grandfather of Olivia and her husband Jerome, Liam and his partner Emmie, Jack and his fiancée Katie, Rosie, Johnny, Charlie, Holly, and James, and great-grandfather of Evvy. Older brother of Joel Potter and his wife Rita, Tris Horton and Michael Potter (late Terri). Adoring uncle to his many nieces and nephews and a friend to all, especially the wild life in his backyard. He was predeceased by his parents Martin Sr. and Alice Potter, and his siblings Christine and Christopher Potter.

Martin was a proud veteran of the United States Army. After serving as a State Trooper in Alaska, he joined the Allendale Police Department where he served the community for 25 years, working his way up to the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded The Medal of Valor for saving a life. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow, as well as an Eagle Scout. Martin also loved antiques and auctions. He was an avid collector and folk artist.

Maysin Wong, 56, of New City, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.  Loving partner of Michael Sprague.  Beloved mother of Ryan.  Caring sister of Yuen Ching, Pearl, Sue, Kwok Kay, Jeannie, Fannie, David and sister-in-law of Joan, Eileen and Ann Marie.  She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.  She was predeceased by her parents, Yat Chung and Kit Bing Wong and her brother Billy Wong.

Maysin worked as a legal biller at Jackson Lewis PC for the last 12 years after Ryan was born.  She also worked in FL for 10 years as a legal biller and a restaurant owner.  She enjoyed traveling and eating at different restaurants, as she was a foodie and big fan of Restaurant Week.  Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

Jeffrey DeBiasa passed away on September 4, 2026 leaving behind his wife and soulmate of 35 years- Donna Bowles-DeBiasa.  The spark that brought them together was kept alive by their shared interest in the beauty of the natural world which he documented with his camera.  He liked hiking in the woods, at nature preserves and along the Hudson.  He loved being at the shore (the Wildwoods and Cape May) during many summers growing up and then with Donna as they explored and photographed the beaches, trails, shops and beautiful Victorian homes.  He loved his Saturday night pizza out with Donna and any other friends or family members who happened to be around.  He was a talented, intelligent and unique individual who shared his knowledge with everyone in is life.  Astronomy, audio-visual equipment and electronics, 35mm film photography, videography, digital photography (which he mastered late in life), cinema- especially the films of Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch, vintage cars and the history of EVERYTHING were among his interests.  He was an articulate speaker and enjoyed educating others with what he had learned as the result of his extensive research.

He was a loving brother to Joanne DeBiasa, Raymond DeBiasa and his wife Suzanne(nee D’Ercole) and Sharon Gorant and her husband Jim.  He was a special uncle to Joanne’s children- Natalie, Brian and Brent, Ray and Sue’s sons- Raymond and Christopher, Sharon and Jim’s children- Jessica and Nicholas.  He was also brother-in-law to Donna’s sister Carol and her first husband Robert Yaniga.  He was an uncle to their children- Jason, Christopher, Lindsey and Olivia.  Jeff had a great childhood and always spoke of and cherished the memories of his parents, Joyce and Ray- grandparents Kate and Lester and favorite Uncle Louie and his wife Aunt Edie.  These important people shaped who he became!  Jeff also clearly loved the cats that he and Donna cared for during their years together.  Animals and wildlife were big interests and important to them both.

He had a relationship with many people throughout his life and each was meaningful and special to him.  As he became ill, so many caring people came forward to help him and Donna get through the challenges that each day brought and that meant so much to him.  He will be missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.  He leaves his vision which is represented by the thousands of images all printed (mostly by him) and carefully placed in albums along with the negatives meticulously arranged for us to view.  He documented an era during his lifetime for which his family and friends can look back upon with amazement and appreciation.  Jeff we love you!
