Mary Rose Intemann (nee Voelkle), 86, peacefully entered eternal rest June 5, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick W. (1991), her brother John and sister Veronica.

A kind, caring and generous woman, Mary was an executive assistant for Fritzsche, Dodge & Olcott for many years.

Carlos E. Fajardo, 84, of Northvale, NJ, formerly of Bronxville, NY and New Rochelle, NY, passed away at home on Monday, June 7, 2021. Beloved husband of Teresa (nee Lopez). Cherished father of Adriana Arroyo and husband Demetrius and Henry and wife Myrna. Proud grandfather of Nicholas, Victoria, Graciela and Galina. Dearest brother of Blanca Gutierrez.

Charles S. “Chip” Piehler

Charles S. “Chip” Piehler, 57, of Northvale, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Beloved husband of Michele (nee Urgo). Proud and cherished father of Samantha, Jennifer and Brianna. Loving son of Marian and the late Stanley Piehler. Dearest brother of Christopher, Jeanine Piehler-Sweeney and Ed and his wife Lisa.  Loving son-in-law of Joan and the late Rocco Urgo and brother-in-law of Donna Urgo-Matthews. Adored uncle of Amber, Heather, Ryan, Shawn, Madison and Ben.

Chip was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother and friend, always the first to lend a hand. He was a production maintenance manager for Chartwell Pharmaceuticals in Congers, NY. Chip was a member of the Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corps and belonged to the Rifle Club. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Visiting hours are Thursday 4-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, Northvale with interment to follow at Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY.

We are devasted and heartbroken by the loss of Chip. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a selfless, kindhearted, gentle soul who went above and beyond to help anyone in need. He loved nothing more than his family. His wife and his girls were his world. He would do anything he could for those he loved. He had many friends who became family and cherished all the memories he made with anyone who crossed his path. Chip was a fun, loving man who enjoyed sharing stories; he was an excellent storyteller. A true handyman and outdoorsman, he enjoyed his weekends upstate in “his own little paradise”, with his four-legged sidekick Buddy. He will have a lasting impact on those who knew him and will be deeply missed by all.

R. Tyler Barreto, 50, of Palisades, NY, passed away at home on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Cherished son of Nilsa B. Barreto. Patricia M. O’Brien (nee Falcone), 82, of Tappan, NY, formerly of Garnerville, NY, passed away at home May 28, 2021surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Thomas F. O’Brien. Pat previously worked at WRKL Radio, Chocolate Junction, and Rockland Community College. In her free time she enjoyed baking, The Jersey Shore, and cruise vacations.

Paul Petrizzo, Jr.

Paul Petrizzo, Jr., 70, of Whiting, NJ, formerly of Westwood, NJ, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Betty DelTejo Petrizzo. Cherished father of Michele Graham and husband Michael, Melissa Petrizzo and Joseph Petrizzo and step-father of Steven and Kevin DelTejo. Proud grandfather of the loves of his life, his ten grandchildren. Dearest brother of Arlene Mancuso and husband Anthony. Also survived by many other loving relatives and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents Paul Sr. and Ann and his brother Dennis.

Paul’s passion was cooking, especially with his grandchildren.  He had owned Nonno’s Restaurant in Glen Rock.

Paul F. Servo

Paul F. Servo, 91, of Edgewater, NJ, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Paul was predeceased by his first wife Marian (nee Schano),  and second wife Patricia (nee Gould).  Loving father of Barbara Corbiserie of Waldwick, NJ and Paul G. Servo of Hermosa Beach, CA. Proud grandfather of Christine Adams and her husband Corey,  and great-grandfather of Chase.  Dear brother of the late Doris Schermond.

Paul was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.  Before retiring he owned and operated Paul Servo’s Men’s Clothing store in Union City for 30 years. Paul was a longtime member of Rockland Country Club in Sparkill, NY, the Weehawken Elks, and Kiwanis Club of Hudson County.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

George E. Pippi

George E. Pippi, 72, of West Nyack, NY, formerly of Northvale, NJ, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021. Beloved husband of Gail T. (nee Waltzer). Proud father of Graig Pippi and wife Jasmine and Gina Pippi-Braxton and husband Darren, Jr.  Cherished grandfather of Hailey, Dominic, Davina and Deja. 
George was loved by all who knew him. Underneath his tough exterior, he was a family man.  He loved his family with all that he was, and anyone close to him.  All he ever wanted was for his family to succeed, and at all costs.  He would do anything he could for those he loved. He had many friends who became family and he cherished all the memories he made with anyone who crossed his path. He would want everyone to remember the good times they had with him.  He was a fun loving man who enjoyed sharing stories, he was an excellent story teller, going on vacation, and of course watching sports anyone who knew him knew his love for the Yankees, the Rangers, and the Giants. 
George was a manager for Federal Express for many years before retiring.

Rosina Lemma

Rosina Lemma (nee Princiotta), 96, of Brick, NJ, formerly of Northvale, NJ, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Armand Lemma. Cherished mother of Amanda Sabia and husband Anthony, Antonietta Boccanfuso and Alicia Buck and husband Gene. Proud grandmother Joseph Sabia, Anna Scholten and husband Travis, Clare Hilderbrandt and husband Matthew, Victoria Buck, Julia Boccanfuso, Patricia Buck and Mary Beth Buck. Adored great-grandmother of Elizabeth Hilderbrandt.

Rose was a bookkeeper for Pasvalco in Closter for many years. She had been a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church, Northvale and belonged to the Altar Rosary Society. Recently she had been a parishioner of St. Martha’s Church in Point Pleasant, NJ.

John M. DiFabio

John DiFabio, of Harrington Park, entered into eternal life with our Lord on May 15, 2021 at the age of 74 after courageously battling a variety of health issues for more than two decades.  

John was born on December 22, 1946 to the late Carl and Olga DiFabio in Washington Heights, NY.  As a young child he moved to Bergen County growing up in Northvaleand moving to Harrington Park in 1970 where he made his home and raised his family.  

John was a veteran of the United States Navy, proudly serving on the USS Independence during the Vietnam War.   He was an expert and hardworking mechanic whoappreciated the challenge of solving a tough problem.  He was an active member of his community and particularly loved coaching little league sports while raising three boys.  Known as “Mr. D”, he was a second father to many of his sons’ friends throughout their lives.  John was a life-long member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Northvale and an active member in American Legion Post 272. 

John will be remembered by family and friends alike for his willingness to help anyone who had a need.  He was always willing to pick-up, drop-off, or come watch one of his beloved grandchildren.   He was always willing to take a ride with a friend who wanted company or give a ride to a friend who needed a lift.  He always had time to discuss a problem, offer advice, or just sit on a porch, a patio, or over a cup of coffee and talk.  

John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeanne, three sons, Michael DiFabio (Gwen) of Caldwell, NC, Dan DiFabio (Christine) of Westwood, and Tom DiFabio (Erin) of Pearl River, NY; a sister, Barbara Harm (Richard) of Northvale, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Lovingly called “Pop”, he also leaves behind six grandchildren, Jack DiFabio, Isabel DiFabio, Sierra DiFabio, Luke DiFabio, Ella DiFabio, and Charlotte DiFabio.  

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou.  

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, May 18 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Pizzi’s Funeral Home in Northvale.  A celebration of John’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 19 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Northvale.
