Maria A. D’Andrea (nee Gianfrancesco), 80, of Northvale, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Giacomo. Devoted mother of Annette D’Andrea, Peter and his wife Marianne and Felicia Miller and her husband William, all of Northvale. Adored grandmother of Nicole and her fiancé Anthony, Danielle and her husband Eric, Nicky, Peter, Anthony and his wife Michelle, James and Christopher. Cherished great-grandmother of Gianna, Gabriella and Dean. Loving sister of Giacomo Gianfrancesco and his wife Angelina of Northvale, Luisa Anastasi and her husband Floro of Palisades Park, Emilio “Tony” Gianfrancesco of Norwood, and the late Emilia. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 9:30 AM at St. Anthony’s RC Church, Northvale with entombment to follow at Madonna Mausoleum, Fort Lee. Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale.

Jadwiga Elizabeth Trendowicz(nee Skowron), 96, a longtime resident of Norwood passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Leo V. Devoted mother of Leo D. of Orangeburg, NY and Paul V. and his wife Julie of Cohasset, MA. Adored grandmother of Leo P. and his wife Jen, Kerri Koker and her husband Robert, Daniel H and the late P.J. Loving great-grandmother of Nathan, Benjamin, Logan and Patrick.
Besides being a wonderful homemaker, Mrs. Trendowicz, along with her husband, owned and operated Oriental Exterminating in NYC for many years. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception RC Church, Norwood.
A private memorial service was held.

Marian Erickson entered into eternal life on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital with her family at her bedside. She fought a courageous battle against cancer for the past year.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rudolph and Alice Bassman of Bergenfield and her mother-in-law Doris Erickson of Little Egg Harbor, NJ.
Marian was a 1974 graduate of Bergenfield High School and also from Bergen Community College with a degree in nursing. She was the director of nursing at Care One at Valley in Westwood.
Marian was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt. She was a wonderful friend and mentor to many of her co-workers and staff at Care One. Marian enjoyed vacationing at the beach and cruising to the Caribbean.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Kenneth of Haworth; her son Michael and his wife Casey of Woodland Park; her daughter Dana and her fiancé Kevin Clifford of Staten Island; and her daughter Jenna of Haworth. Dearest sister of four brothers, Alan and his wife Mary Chris of Mahwah; Bruce and his wife Susan of Allentown, NJ; Rudy and his wife Donna of Somerset; and Robert and his wife Leslee of Autin, TX. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She will be sadly missed by her husband’s loving family, Linda and William Brousseau of Palm City, FL; her sister-in-law, who was also her best friend, Patricia and her husband William Michaelsen of Little Egg Harbor; as well as her father-in-law, Ken Erickson, Sr. of Nettles Island, FL.

PILLER, Joseph, 85, of Northvale, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Cecilia. Devoted father of Anna Totaro and her husband James of Tenafly, Anthony of Northvale, George of Northvale and Silvia Hekl and her husband Timothy of Northvale. Adored grandfather of James, Jessica, Anthony, Nicole, John and Gavin and great-grandfather of Vincent and Peter. Dear uncle of Anthony Herber and his wife Louise and Joseph Herber. Also survived by two sisters in Hungary.
Mr. Piller came to America from Hungary in 1956 and moved to Northvale from New York City in 1966. He worked for Excel Elastic Company in Northvale for over 30 years before retiring.

Christina Marie Knanishu, 34, of Tappan, NY,went home to the Lord on Sunday, August 25, 2013. She was the cherished daughter of Glenn and JoAnne Knanishu. Loving granddaughter of Lucy Knanishu and Robert Traudt and his wife Patricia. Adored niece of Nancy Kadish, June Grossman, Linda Knanishu, Laurie Traudt, Fr. Robert Traudt, Mary Traudt, Matthew Traudt and John Traudt and their spouses. Also survived by many loving cousins, relatives and dear friends. Predeceased by her grandfather, Sander Knanishu, grandmother, Mary Traudt and uncle, Christopher Traudt.
Christina was an advertising sales executive for Citi Grid in NYC. Prior to that she had worked at Cablevision and Rainbow Media.

Helen C. Guercio (nee Castellano), 75, of Norwood, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013. Best friend and beloved wife of 55 years to John A. Guercio. Devoted mother of Anthony and his wife Lisa of Norwood. Adored grandmother of Anthony and Gianna. Dearest sister of Gail Szerba of Waretown, and Joseph Castellano of Malaysia. Loving sister-in-law of Geraldine Castellano of Bayonne.
Besides being a wonderful homemaker, Helen worked for the boroughs of Northvale and Norwood as assistant to the tax assessor for over 35 years. She had been chairwoman of the Norwood Housing Authority and was on the planning board. Helen belonged to the Woman’s Club of Norwood and Northvale and was past president. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception RC Church, Norwood.

Harvey Chambers Quigley, 82, of Teaneck, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013. Harvey was born in Jersey City on April 9, 1931 to the late Robert Leo and Dorothy Snyder Quigley.He was a proud, decorated combat veteran of the US Marine Corps, 1st Marine Div, serving during the Korean War. He spent his career working in both the NY Financial Market, NYC and industrial securities at Tele-Measurements, Clifton, where he retired. Harvey was a life member of the Marine Corp League Gooney Bird Detachment, New Milford, VFW Post 7128, Cooperstown, American Legion Post 170, Rochelle Park and the American Society for Industrial Security, North Jersey Branch.
Harvey is survived by his brother Robert K. and his wife Vera of Cooperstown, NY. Cherished uncle of his goddaughter, Patsy Soule and her husband David of Cooperstown, Michael and his wife Jennifer of Summerfield, NC and Kevin and his wife Debbie of Shillington, PA. Loving great-uncle of Brittany, Griffin, Katie, Matthew, Abbey, Michael, Devin and Jason. Harvey was predeceased by his nephew, James P. Quigley, son of Bob and Vera.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Aug 29 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM.

CLEARY, John W. (Jack), of Edgewater, NJ died on August 2, 2013 after a five-year battle with cancer. Jack was 65 and is survived by his cherished wife Heather (née Raskin) and two loving children, Zachary Cleary and Danika (Matt) Laszuk; two grandchildren, Asha and Marlo, all of Brooklyn; and three siblings: Joseph Cleary of Irving, TX; James Cleary of Denver, CO; and Eileen Sellers of Bowling Brook, Ill. He was predeceased by his brother William J. Cleary, Jr.
An avid student, Jack studied at St Peter’s Prep and College and Georgetown University, and at the time of his death he had been accepted to Columbia University MBA program.
Jack was a visionary and entrepreneur. He left his position as a stockbroker at Bear Stearns to work in communications in the Philippines, China, and the United Arab Emirates, ultimately forming and serving as CEO of Next Generation Networks, a global wireless communications company that provides multimedia broadband and security solutions in developing and under-served communities around the world. Jack was most proud of the fact that NGN brought educational opportunities to those who would not otherwise have this access.
