Lillian Cozzi

Lillian Cozzi (nee Pizzaguerra), 94, of Port Orange, FL, formerly of Orangeburg, NY, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2019. Lillian was born on November 11, 1924 in New York, NY to Guido and Ida Pizzaguerra. She graduated from Washington Irving High School in New York City. On October 12, 1947, she married Thomas Cozzi. They raised a daughter, and three sons.

Lillian enjoyed coffee and cards with her friends, traveling and dining across the southeast with the Port Orange Recreational Travel, and losing the gained weight as long-standing secretary of Taking Off Pounds Sensibly support group. Lillian also enjoyed anything her children and grandchildren wanted to do. Her fear of missing out lead to many adventures, not the least of which was visiting every major league baseball stadium (except Seattle) with her daughter and travel agent, Dianne. She was known for her kind and compassionate spirit, her bookkeeping skills, and her Mustang convertible.

Lilian was preceded in death by her husband Thomas. She is survived her four children, Dianne, Thomas, Alan, and Alex, eight grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A wake will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Pizzi Funeral Home from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 6 at 11 AM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill.

Joan Ann Wires

Joan Ann Wires, 85 formerly of Old Tappan, New Jersey, died on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Novant Hospital in Huntersville, North Carolina.   Joan was born December 24, 1933 in Bloomfield, NJ.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband, William S. Wires, her parents Hugh and Marie (Boyan) Porter, her brother, Hugh Jr. and two sons, Paul and David.  Surviving are her daughter Carolyn LaLonde of Concord, North Carolina, and her son, William Wires, of Berlin, Germany, along with six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Joan was a dedicated homemaker and was loved by her family and friends.  Her charismatic humor and delightful personality will be missed by all who knew her.  A funeral Service will be held on September 14th at 11:00 am at the Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave., Northvale, NJ (201-767-3050) with interment to follow at Old Tappan Cemetery.

Dante Costanzo

Dante Costanzo (AKA Marius Daniel Costanzo), 93, of Fort Lee, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. Beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Foerch). Cherished father of Daniel William Costanzo, Kathleen Victoria Nicolay and her late husband William, Marko Costanzo and Francis Robert Costanzo and his wife Victoria. Adored grandfather of Derek, James, Joseph, Mark and Maggie and great-grandfather of Aria, Emma, Simon and Jackson.

Dante was a US Army veteran of WWII. He was an interior designer and owned Dante’s Inferno for Design in Fort Lee for many years. He was an avid fan of football and basketball. Dante played well into his 70’s and organized a basketball association in Fort Lee.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, Aug 30 at 9:30 AM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050) with interment to follow at Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee. Kathleen D. Thorsland

Kathleen D. Thorsland (Kate), 77 Northvale, passed peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2019. Kate had a great love for styling hair. She was owner/stylist of ‘My Sister Kate’s’ in Cresskill. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Helen Gross who owned ‘The Lounge’ in Tenafly, her son Joseph Finn, and daughter Lisa McKim. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Macchio and husband Scott, her son Larry Thorsland and wife Lisa, and her sister Patricia Sullivan. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Jessica, Alyssa, Melissa, and Amanda, niece Jules Bruno and wife Jennifer, and nephew Phillip Kotar. A memorial mass will be held at St. Anthony’s church in Northvale Saturday August 31st @10:30 a.m.

Georgina Redburn McConville

Georgina Redburn McConville (nee Powrie), 87, of Tappan, passed away on August 17, 2019. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Matthew and loving son Steven. Cherished mother of Matthew McConville and wife Ally of Denver, CO, Brian McConville of Tappan, NY,  John McConville and wife Sue Ellen of Jackson, NJ. Adored grandmother of Megan, Jenny, Ian, Steven, John Thomas and Brian and great-grandmother of Finn and Mairi. Dearest sister of Morag and Sandra and the late Margaret and brother Jim.  Aunt of many adoring nieces and nephews. Devoted friend May fondly referred to as Aunt May.

Georgina (Gena) was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Tappan and was a member of the choir and the Rosary Society.

Gena loved spending time with her family, reminiscing about her life in Scotland, singing, dancing, cooking and knitting.  She was so proud of her home at 29 Clinton Avenue where all were welcomed and neighbors would often gather.  Gena hosted magical family holidays filled with love and they will be forever cherished memories.

A sincere admiration and appreciation with  gratitude is extended from her family to all her care providers who were not just dedicated but went above and beyond for their  “Lady Gena”.

Charles Troy Geraldi Jr.

Charles Troy Geraldi Jr. of Palisades, NY was born on March 17, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to Marie and Charles Troy Geraldi. Charles passed away in his sleep on Monday, August 12th. He had two sisters, Pam and Myra. Charles attended Alexander Hamilton High School and City College where he studied Electrical Engineering. He married his high school sweetheart, Felicia Pawlowski, on September 27, 1952. In 1954 he was drafted into the Army. After the Army he returned to his engineering job at General Foods, then he went to work for Ramseyer and Miller for the next 19 years. In 1976 he left Ramseyer and Miller to work as an independent consulting engineer in England, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Mexico, Jamaica, Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. Charles was the backbone of the family. He was always there when you needed him. He is survived by his children Charles, Susan, her husband Joe and grandchildren Kristen, Joey, Charles and Christopher. His life’s motto was “Live, Love, & Laugh everyday like it is your last.” Services will be held at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ (201-767-3050) on Sunday 2-6pm. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church RC,120 Kings Highway, Tappan, NY on Monday at 10am with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY. Lola Gloria Parducci

Lola Gloria Parducci (Ramaci), 85, of Cresskill, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019.   Wife of Edward M. Parducci and devoted mother of Susan Parducci of Englewood, Edward Parducci and wife Donna of Toms River, Joanne Saffioti and husband Thomas of Bergenfield. Cherished grandmother of Matthew Hinzpeter and wife Claudia, Dale Parducci and Thomas, Joseph and Stephen Saffioti.  Daughter of the late Julia and Salvatore Ramaci.  Dearest sister of Theresa and the late John, Marion, Rosie, Frank, Richard, Julie and Joe.  Lola was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be forever missed.

Lola had a way of connecting with everyone that crossed her path.  Creative, sensitive and a wonderful sense of humor she was loved by all.

Barbara J. Monteleone

Barbara J. Monteleone (nee: Tarantino), 79, of Pompano Beach, FL formerly of Orangeburg, NY, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019. She was born in the Bronx on July 28, 1940 to the late Thomas and Gabriella Tarantino. Beloved wife of the late Ferdinand (Fred) Monteleone. Adored mother of Neil and wife Lora of Old Tappan and daughter Debra Ramsay and husband Richard Jr. of Stony Point. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Jessica-Lee and her husband Joseph, Fred, Nicole and Gabriella. Dearest aunt to several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her older two sisters, Anna Samela and Jean Raio. Together, they were known as the “Dolly Sisters”.

Barbara lived for her family and was a devoted and loving mother.  She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a “Mema” to her 5 grandchildren. She had a heart of gold with a smile that lit up the room. Barbara will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Marjorie M. Bauer De Luisa

Marjorie M. De Luisa (née:  Bauer), 83, of Northvale formerly of Old Tappan and Bergenfield, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019.  Beloved mother of Teresa De Luisa of Provincetown MA, Rosemarie Lewis (Edward) of West Milford NJ, Toni Hetlyn (Christopher) of Maybrook NY, Janine De Luisa-Talley (Robert) of Northvale NJ and the late Maria Magee.  Dear sister of Frank Bauer, Jr. and the late Gloria Rodas Wagner, William Bauer and Barbara Stormer.  Cherished grandmother of Frank (Dena) Rodas, Edward (Jennifer) Lewis, Jaime De Luisa, Kevin (Tracey) Lewis, Jessica Hetlyn, Jacquelynn (Peter) Mackins, Nicole Hetlyn, David Jackson, Lily De Luisa and Lexy Talley.  Proud great-grandmother of Jacob, Morgan, Benjamin, Abigail, Wyatt and Cody.

Marjorie was born in Bergenfield to the late Frank and Helena (née:  Bartholf) Bauer.  She worked in credit and collections at Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus NJ.

Marie T. Landers

Marie Therese Landers (nee Wright) passed away peacefully on August 2, 2019.  She was 79 years old.  Marie was born on June 12, 1940 in the Bronx, NY to Harold J. Wright and Anna Marie (Gaffney) Wright and grew up in Pleasantville and Scarsdale, NY.  She attended high school at The Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel in White Plains, NY, graduating in 1958.  She then attended St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in New York City, graduating in 1961.  She started her career as a Registered Nurse in St. Vincent’s Emergency Room, followed by work as the RN for B. Altman & Company in White Plains, NY.  Marie married Vincent P. Landers of Tuckahoe, NY in 1964 at St. Pius X in Scarsdale, NY.  Together, they had four children and enjoyed 55 devoted years of marriage.  When they moved to Old Tappan, NJ in 1970, Marie continued her nursing career as head of the IV Team at Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, NJ. She remained a respected and loved part of their staff for 35 years.  She also worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY, before retiring in 1998 and moving to Harrington Park.  Marie touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, generosity, warmth, humor and immeasurable wisdom.  The oldest of 10 children, Marie was always thinking of how she could spend her time and irrepressible energy helping family or neighbor.  Her charitable spirit was extraordinary and those lucky enough to walk in her world felt blessed to have such a magnanimous friend.  When she wasn’t spending countless hours as a revered Nana to her five grandchildren, Marie loved playing her piano, reading, Nyack Boat Club socials with Vin, following NY theater, beautifying anything (big or small) around her and being active in her Harrington Park OLV Parish.  Marie was proud of her Irish heritage and that essence shone most brightly in her love of good conversation.  She was a devout Catholic and to know Marie was to know someone who truly saw God in everything and every person she’d meet.  She was passionately focused on doing for others and believed good works was life’s true purpose and reward.  She will be deeply missed by all.

A beloved Wife and Mother, Sister and Daughter, Marie is survived by her beloved husband Vincent of Harrington Park and their children Vincent (Kathy) Landers Jr. of Peekskill, NY, Annmarie Landers of Mount Kisco, NY, Matthew (Sofia) Landers of Harrington Park, NJ and Diane (Gene) Balboa of Armonk, NY — as well as her brothers Steve (Maribel), Michael, and David (Lorraine), sisters-in-law Judy Wright and Roberta Wright, her five adoring grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews.  She joins her parents and brothers and sisters, Harold, Elizabeth, Joseph, Gregory, Priscilla and Mark in Heaven.
