Jeanne H. Goldstein

Jeanne H. Goldstein, age 86, died in hospice at home in Blauvelt, NY on 
June 16th, 2019 under the loving care of her family.

Jeanne Marie Henderson was born in Kingston, NY, in 1933 to Leo and 
Helen (Murphy) Henderson. She excelled at Kingston’s St. Ursula’s 
Academy, and at Mt. St. Vincent’s College and Fordham University in NYC.

In 1956, Jeanne married Stanley Goldstein, and in 1960 they built their 
home in Blauvelt, where their four children, Ben, Donna, Liza Barrie, 
and Annamae, were raised.

Jeanne was a devoted mother, a lover of learning and grower of flowers, 
a community activist, and partner of Stanley for 57 years. Together, 
their generous hearts led them to open their home, including to many 
refugees from Vietnam they sponsored with support and guidance as they 
sought to rebuild their lives. Jeanne was a lifelong supporter of social 
justice, and active in the Orangetown Democratic Committee for nearly 50 
years. For a time, she served as Chair of the ODC and worked in Town 
Hall as Assistant to the Supervisor where she enjoyed helping resolve 
the concerns of her Orangetown neighbors.

Jeanne is survived by four children, her daughter-in-law Gina Ironside, 
grandchildren Noah Shapiro, Owen and Sam Gould, Ben and Cris Goldstein, 
and Isabel Barrie, her sister Helene Amato (Anthony Amato) of Kingston, 
plus many nieces and nephews. Her husband predeceased her in 2013, a 
daughter, Mercedes Vernet, in 1953, her brother, Leo Henderson, in 2002.

A service of loving remembrance for Jeanne will be held on Saturday, 
June 22, 2019, 12:00 p.m. at Pizzi Funeral Home in Northvale, NJ. Burial 
will follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY.  Written remembrances

Lillian M. Bozdech

Lillian M. Bozdech (nee Stubits), 81, of Norwood, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Loving mother of the late Gregory and his wife Lori, MaryLee McGoorty and husband Michael, Mark Bozdech, Jody Calabrese and husband Peter. Proud Oma of Joseph, Jillian, Michael, Peter J. and Thomas.  The oldest child to the late Frank M. and Mary Stubits. Cherished sister of Frances Nagy and her late husband Frank, Frank Stubits and wife Anne, Tom Stubits and wife Connie, MaryAnn Medina and husband Ralph, Theresa Morris and husband Glenn, Elaine Goodenough and husband Tom and Richie Stubits and wife Karen.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews along with many loving relatives and dear friends.

Lillian worked as a bookkeeper for the A&P for many years before retiring. She was an active parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, Norwood and was a member of the school’s parent’s guild. She belonged to the Norwood Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and was also a member of the Red Hats and the Norwood Senior Center. Lillian loved to play bingo and for years was part of a bowling league. She loved reminiscing about her life growing up on her grandparents’ farm in Pennsylvania.

Ann C. Glynn

Ann C. Glynn (nee Dillon), 86, of Cresskill, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Peter F. Glynn, Jr. Adored mother of Peter F. Glynn III of Cresskill, Cathy Glynn of Cresskill and Maureen Finn and husband John of Northvale. Cherished grandmother of Jessica, Ryan, Bobby and Kate. Dearest sister of Stephen Dillon and wife Mary, Mary Finnegan and late husband Ron, Eileen Glynn and husband Tom,the late Daniel Dillon and his late wife Joan, the late Thomas Dillon and his late wife Kathleen and her late sister-in-law, Florence Glynn.

Ann was a Registered Nurse for St. Francis Hospital in the Bronx for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Therese Church in Cresskill and was a member of Cresskill Senior Citizens Center and Garden Club. Ann was also an active supporter of the Cresskill High School Music and Athletic Booster Clubs.

Frank R. Marini

Frank R. Marini, 96, of Norwood, formerly of Fairview, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Battaglia). Proud father of James and wife Jacquelyn of Northvale and Robert and wife Barbara of Sloatsburg, NY. Cherished grandfather of Steven, Sarah and Joseph. Dearest brother of John and the late Artie, Dorfie and Benny.

Frank was a US Army combat veteran of WWII in the European Theater. He was a machinist for Groov-Pin in Ridgefield. Upon retirement he was a school crossing guard for many years in Norwood. He belonged to the Fairview VFW Post 337 and the Norwood Senior Center.

Mary K. Spillane (nee Sullivan), 94, of Bedford, NY, formerly of Rye, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019. Beloved wife of Denis J. Spillane. Pura R. Roundy

Pura R. Roundy (nee Ramos), 86, of Fort Lee, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Robert Roundy.  Cherished mother of Marissa Mayid and partner Thomas Ficucello, Ruby Indrakosit and partner Victor Chadwick, and Ruben Roque II and partner Lydia Roque. Proud grandmother of five grandchildren—Kelly, Ilana, Reuben, Rachelle, and Michelle.

Pura was an immensely powerful, accomplished woman who instilled intellect, confidence, and love in all her children and grandchildren. In the 1960s, Pura was the first woman to serve as President of an entire shopping complex where she also independently owned and operated her own department store – unheard of during this generation. She then brought herbusiness, art, and fashion & jewelry designs to NYC for many years before retiring.

Michael Gregory Valentine

Michael Gregory Valentine, 36, of Norwood, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019. Cherished son of Gregory Valentine and his wife Evelyn of Leonia and Ellen Valentine of Norwood. Loving brother of Matthew and his wife Lindsay of Montvale. Adored uncle of Brooke and Jack. Beloved nephew of Brian and Patti Valentine of Wyckoff and cousin of Samantha and Thomas. Dear step-brother of Samantha Lish.

Michael was a Video Editor for Deluxe Entertainment in Northvale. He loved hockey and played in high school for Bergen Catholic and St. Joe’s as well as for the NJ Mavericks and NJ Devils.

Funeral will be Tuesday, June 4, 11 AM at the funeral home and then to Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly, where a memorial service will be held at 12 PM.

Richard L. DeGhetto

Richard L. DeGhetto, 85, of Northvale, was called to the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2019. He was born September 16, 1933.

Richard greeted each sunrise by giving thanks for yet another beautiful day. Even though his body had become weaker, his faith and appreciation for the life he’d been graced with grew stronger.

Richard is survived by his love, best friend, soul mate and the strongest woman there ever was, his wife of 63 years, Lee (nee Giannone). Cherished father of Diane Bonizzi and her children, Michael, Cassandra, Anthony and Vincent, Richard M. DeGhetto and his children, Richard, Bradley and Carly, and Gina and Chris Marksbury and their daughter Sabrina.

Richard was a top agent for Prudential Insurance Company and was part of the million dollar sales group, which was quite an accomplishment for that era. Prior to that he was a design draftsman for Wright Aeronautical Corp. He was also a member of the International Order of Redmen Half Moon Tribe in Northvale.
