Yvonne Kim-Langella

Yvonne Kim-Langella also known as Yvonne Trammell-Dunn, 83 of Hackensack passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015. She is the daughter of the late Claudia Cepeda (Hackensack) and the late Nathaniel Trammell, Sr.

Miguel Cepeda, Yvonne’s step-father, was an integral part of Yvonne’s life and supported her efforts to achieve her prized nursing education in New York. Yvonne worked as a private duty nurse for many years in New York and New Jersey hospitals. Yvonne also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician. During Yvonne’s career she worked for the Village Voice Newspaper in New York, and for a New York Medical Publication Company writing and editing medical journal articles, and she contributed to the creative design of the publications.

Yvonne’s hobbies and passions included listening to classical music, opera and traditional jazz. Yvonne had a special talent for writing and art. Yvonne was also an avid movie buff. Yvonne also took great pride in sponsoring children through the Save the Children Foundation by donating money, clothing and school supplies to improve their quality of life.

Yvonne is survived by three (3) sons and one (1) daughter; Noel Dunn Jr. of New Milford, NJ; Nicholas Dunn of Hackensack, NJ; Nelson Dunn Sr. of Redondo Beach, CA, and Nancy Dunn Johnson of Las Vegas, NV.

Yvonne is also survived by seven (7) grandchildren and three (3) great grandchildren; Nelson Dunn Jr.; Paul Alexander Dunn I; Christopher Dunn; Benjamin “Larry” Johnson II; Lauren Johnson Blackmon; Heather Dunn; Tallon Dunn; Kayla Ingram; Alanna Blackmon, and Christopher Blackmon Jr.

Yvonne is also survived by nephews, Bruce Trammell Sr. and Michael Trammell, and nieces, Regina Trammell Earl and Allison Trammell.

A memorial service will take place on December 5, 2015 at the Mount Olive Baptist Church, 260 Central Avenue, Hackensack, NJ. Interment at the Hackensack Cemetery, 323 Hackensack Avenue, Hackensack, NJ. The family will receive friends immediately following at the church.

 

 

Margaret R. Fauci

Margaret R. Fauci (nee Martini), 58, of Demarest passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015.  Born on January 7, 1957, she worked most of her life as an Administrative Assistant to three directors and two managers for Best Foods Corp. and Dasault Falcon Jet.  She was the beloved daughter of Millie D’Amico of Farmingdale. Step-sister of James D’Amico of Farmingdale, Daniel D’Amico of Northvale and Keith D’Amico of Little Egg Harbor.

Concetta Pallone

Concetta Pallone (nee Giannotta), 87, of Northvale, passed away at home on Monday, October 26, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Vito. Cherished mother of Louise Kemmlein and her husband Charles of Congers and Rosanne Firenze, also of Congers. Adored grandmother of Kimberly, James, Christopher, Melissa, Kristen and Michael and great-grandmother of Riana, Taylor, Katie, James, Derick, Chase, Justin, Devin and Jordan. Dear sister of the late Salvatore. Also survived by her loving caregiver, Mary.

Connie loved her home and family and will be remembered for her amazing cooking.

Josefa Quintás Ponte

December 23,1954 – October 27, 2015

Josefa Quintás Ponte (Jo) 60 of Tappan, NY passed away in Tappan, NY on October 27, 2015. Jo was born in Ronda, Malaga, Spain on December 23, 1954 to Juanita Ponte Carregal and José Quintás Vazquez.

Jo is survived by her brother Alfredo Quintás Ponte, sister Carmen Quintás Ponte, nephew Daniel Quintás Lopéz and sister-in-law Josefa Lopéz Calvo.

Visitation will be held at Pizzi Funeral Home 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ 07647 on October 29, 2015 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M.

There will be a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Tappan, NY at 10 A.M. on Friday October 30, 2015.

Jo will be interred in Bergondo, La Coruña, Spain with her parents.

Pierina Frankola

Pierina Frankola, 89, of Northvale, formerly of Guttenberg, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015. Cherished mother of George Frankola and his wife Eleanor of Northvale. Predeceased by her sister Ada Baca and brothers, Attilio, Gaetano and Renato.

Pierina was a machine operator for Kreisler Corp. in North Bergen. She also worked at AQL Decorating in Fairview as well as various other jobs to support her family. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church in Northvale and a member of the Northvale Senior Center.

Bernadine M. Scorza

Bernadine M. “Bea” Scorza (nee Iafrate), of Harrington Park, NJ died on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. Bea was 77 and is survived by her devoted husband Antonio.  She is also survived by two siblings:  Dolores Loveland of Closter, New Jersey, and Eugene Iafrate of Gold Canyon, Arizona, a sister-in-law, Mildred Iafrate of Closter, four nephews, one niece, and numerous grand-nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Bernard Iafrate and Dennis Iafrate.

A lifelong educator and student, Bea earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Glassboro State College. After teaching briefly in Norwood, Bea combined her life-long love of travel with teaching by taking a position at the Mainz International School in Germany where she taught the children of diplomats, followed by a posting at the American School at Midway Island where she taught the children of US Naval officers. She moved back to the United States in the early 1970s, where she met and married Antonio Scorza and taught sixth grade in the Washington Township school system until her retirement 13 years ago.

An accomplished cook, baker, seamstress, and artist, Bea continued to teach adults until her death, holding classes in crocheting, needlepoint, quilting, and assorted crafts.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bea’s memory to The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065.

The family will receive visitors at the Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ on Friday, October 23 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Antoinette T. Guerriero

Antoinette (Nettie) T. Guerriero (nee DeSalvo), 83 of Tappan, NY, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015. She was born in the Bronx, NY and moved to Tappan, NY where she resided for the last 50 years.  In that close knit community, she worked part-time at the 76 House restaurant and the local Wendy’s for a number of years.  Prior to that she was a co-owner of the Bell Maid deli working in Belleville, NJ for many years.

Aside from her amazing cooking skills, she is best known by her family and friends for being an incredibly generous person both with her time and money, donating to anyone in need. She loved playing board games with her grandchildren, doing her daily crossword puzzles and reading and studying the Bible.

Beloved wife of the late Anthony. Devoted mother of Anthony and his wife Jeanne of Saddle Brook, NJ, Susan Duris and her husband David of Tallahassee, FL and Neil and his wife Kerry of Harrington Park, NJ.  Adored grandmother of Kimberly, Christopher, Jennifer, Michelle, Thomas and Mary.  Cherished great-grandmother of Ryder, Troy and Carey.  Dearest sister of Madeline Del Casale and her husband Rocco of Whiting, NJ and the late Mary Mozilo and Constance Laucius.

Joseph R. Greco

 

Joseph R. Greco, 90, of Old Tappan, born and raised in the Bronx, formerly of Norwood, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Beloved husband of Lillian. Devoted father of his three daughters: Gerry Pehush and her husband Bill of Ridgewood; Patty Greco and her fiancé Jerry Lorenzo of Washington Twp; and Bobbie Greco of Washington Twp. Adored grandfather of B.J., Tara, and Christa and her husband David. Also survived by dear family friend Sue Mollica as well as other loving family members and many friends. Joe was predeceased by his first wife Julie.

Joe was a United States Marine Corps veteran of World War II who defended our country in China and the South Pacific. He lived by the slogan “Once a Marine, always a Marine.” Joe’s successful career in the industrial textile business spanned his entire adult life. He maintained an active, enthusiastic role in meeting the needs of his clients, who over the years had become his friends, even until the week before his death. In his later years he also found fulfillment volunteering at the dialysis unit at Hackensack Hospital for 21 years and at the Christ Episcopal Church soup kitchen in Suffern, NY for 20 years. Joe was an avid New York Giants football fan with season tickets for over 55 years. Joe was an active member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Norwood, NJ for many years and more recently at Pope Pius X Church in Old Tappan, NJ.
