Waldine N. Bodrato

Waldine N. Bodrato (nee Foppiano), 95, of Northvale, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Arthur A. Bodrato for 66 years. Cherished mother of Briant and his wife Kathleen of Northvale. Adored grandmother of Christopher Bodrato, Ashley Bodrato Panella and her husband Michael. Grandma to her fur babies Pierce, Jax and Dutch who she loved spending her days with. 

Waldine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. 

Waldine was secretary for the Northvale Planning Board. She served as the Treasurer for many years on the Northvale Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She also served as the Treasurer and President of the Democratic Club. Waldine was a lifetime parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and talk to her friends and family on the phone every day. She will be forever remembered for her historical knowledge of Northvale being a resident for 95 years, her kind heart, amazing Italian dishes and her true genuine spirit. She will be missed dearly by all her family and friends. 

Visiting hours are Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 7-9 PM and Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s on Thursday, June 29, 2023 10:00 AM with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.

Gladys Mary Carullo

Gladys Mary Carullo (nee DeLaurentis), 84 of Old Tappan, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Beloved wife of 62 years to Frank J. Carullo. Loving mother of Frank T. Carullo and Laura Butterworth and her husband James. Proud grandmother of Gabrielle, Alec, Allison, Nicole and Madeline.

Gladys was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was a dedicated parishioner of St. Pius X RC Church.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X RC Church, Old Tappan, NJ on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11 AM. The family will gather at the church at 10:30 before the mass.

Peter B. Moulin-Malish

Peter B. Moulin-Malish, 38, of Old Tappan, NJ, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023. Survived by his wife, Alexandra (nee Rodriguez), cherished son of Catherine Malish and Jon and his wife Bonnie Moulin. Loving son-in law of Ali and John Betts, cherished brother-in law of Ashley and her husband Brian Larkin, Danielle Betts, Johnny Betts and his nephew Will and niece Maude. Adored grandson of Grandpa Eugene Malish, and Grandma Mirtha and Grandpa Felix Lopez. Also survived by many loving Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Pre-decreased by his wonderful Uncles Johnny and Jim, and his beautiful Grandmothers Dorine and Betty, and Grandpa Nevin. Pete will be forever missed by his beloved dachshund Emmylou Harris.

Pete was a loving and gentle man, who loved hanging out with friends, riding his ATV and motorcycles, collecting swords and knives, and had a nostalgic love for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He will be remembered for his soft smile, endless patience, and boundless help to all who encountered him. For all those who knew and had the opportunity of him to touch their lives, Pete will be missed dearly.

Throughout his years working at DeLalla Carting, his exceptional work ethic, meticulous precision, and skillfulness to his work, was awe inspiring, and one of his most incredible qualities.

Holly Jane Ciccoricco

Holly Jane Ciccoricco (nee Nickles), 85, a resident of Harrington Park, NJ for 50 years passed away
peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 8th, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Edward
Ciccoricco for nearly 60 years.
Holly will be remembered as an honored teacher and artist, loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother and a leading advocate for arts in the community. Holly’s contributions in
education have been truly outstanding. Her artistic talents were multifaceted: watercolors,
quilting, ceramics, and crafts.
An award-winning artist herself, Holly taught visual arts to thousands of children and adults
and inspired some students to become art or special education teachers or to enter art related fields of work. In 2015 she was honored by the mayor and council of Harrington Park, NJ as
“Citizen of the Year” for her work with arts in the community. Also, in 2015 she was the first
honoree of the parent teacher organization of the Valley Regional Programs. Holly was
inducted into the Abington Senior High School (Pennsylvania) Hall of Fame in recognition of
her achievements as an art educator.
Holly taught art to special needs children for 20 years at the Art School at Old Church, a nonsectarian, non-profit organization in Demarest, NJ. She also taught other classes at the Art
School and a monthly crafts workshop for children at the Harrington Park Public Library. She was an award-winning watercolor artist, miniature house builder and quilter. Examples of her quilting are illustrated in the book, “Quilting for Idiots,” by Laura Ehrlich, 2004. Her “General Store Dollhouse” was awarded first prize by Miniature Collectors Magazine.
Holly was a founder of Park Painters, a group of artists who meet for plein air painting, and
also a founder the Park Stitchers, a group who meet weekly to sew, knit, embroider, and quilt.
She was on the Advisory Board of the Arts Council of Harrington Park. She was the Alpine
Public Schools “Teacher of the Year” in 1992. She also taught enrichment classes in a number
of Northern Valley Schools and volunteered art lessons at the Valley Program for children with
special needs. She served as art coordinator for the Northern Valley Summer Camp in
Harrington Park for 40 years.
Holly earned a Master of Arts in art education degree from Teachers College, Columbia
University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia.
Family includes three sons, Michael, David (and his wife Beryl and four-year-old Roa),
Steven (and wife Natalie, five-year-old Lou and predeceased two-month-old Holden), Holly’s
brother,Theodore Nickles and wife, Marjorie, and Holly’s sister, Deborah Nickles, as well as
many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Anna Hackett

Anna Hackett (nee Erben), 91, of Harrington Park, NJ, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023. Beloved wife of 69 years to Thomas Hackett. Dearest sister of Carl Erben and his wife Barbara and sister-in-law of Mary Villa. Cherished aunt of Beth Erben, Dan Erben and wife Patricia, Debora Burke and husband Gregg, Edward Villa, Jackie Villa and Joanne Shuart. Also survived by many loving great-nieces and great-nephews.

Anna worked for NY Life Insurance Company in NYC starting in the filing room and working her way up being a senior manager in the treasury department. She retired from NYL after more than 45 years of service. She loved Harrington Park and was an active member of Club 60 and the Garden Club. She had been treasurer of the Pascack Valley Thrift Shop and was on the Historical Society in Harrington Park and Nyack, NY. Anna was devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Victories Church and was on the committee for social concerns for many years.

Dr. Robert Cohen

Dr. Robert Cohen, 83, of Englewood, NJ, passed away on Sunday June 11th, 2023.He was the beloved husband of Barbara Weiss Cohen.   Loving father of Stephanie Cohen Walsh and Karen Cohen.  Proud grandfather of Sydney, Chloe, Max and Ariel.

Dr. Cohen was a Doctor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hackensack University Medical Center for over 40 years, beloved by his patients and highly respected by his peers.   In his distinguished career, he delivered over 4000 babies in Bergen County, NJ.

Noreen Margaret Flynn Krauchuk

Noreen Margaret Krauchuk (nee Flynn), 74, of Harrington Park, NJ, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023. Beloved mother of Michael Krauchuk and his wife Claire, and Lauren Krauchuk. Loving partner of 34 years to Thomas Esch. Fun-spirited grandmother to Mikey and Kaia. Loving sister of Michael “Miami Mike” Flynn and his wife Noelle and  Bram Flynn and his wife Susan. Dear aunt of aunt of Beau, Lauryn, Collin, Patrick and Megan and devoted dog mom to Mickey.

Noreen was an exceptional woman, mother, partner, colleague and friend. She lived life to the fullest and lived life for those closest to her. She was relentless in her pursuit of perfection, inspiring all. She had an infectious smile and her presence was a strong force, always. She was a hard worker with tremendous drive and determination. These were just a few of the positive traits she passed on to her children and those closest to her. She rose from working as a crossing guard in the 1990’s to becoming and integral staple at Rab Lighting for over three decades.

Noreen will be sorely missed by all those that knew her and loved her. Noreen was a beautiful woman. We are blessed to have her as our guardian angel, continuing to protect us all. We will love you forever, Mom. You are now at peace with your mother and father. May God always protect and take care of you, like you have done for everyone your entire life. Tom will always love you and never forget you. May you rest in peace.

Ronald P. Kriegl

Ronald P. Kriegl, of Old Tappan, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Beloved husband of Carol A. (nee Miranda). Cherished father of Johnna P. DiPalma, Scott O’Rourke and wife Deena, Jaison O’Rourke, Keryn Kriegl-Roberts, Heidi Callahan and Melyssa Kriegl. Proud grandfather of McKayla, Jaiden, Chloe, Michael, Morgan, Alex, Jacob,Kyle and Olyvia. Dearest brother of Kim Filkins and husband Lee and the late Roger Kriegl and Dale Hoover. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Ronald was a US Army Veteran and was a member of the Hillsdale American Legion Post 162. He worked in sales and marketing and retired from Digi Matix in Norwood, NJ. He was an active member of Pascack Bible Church in Hillsdale where he belonged to Men of the Word.

Catherine Ann Varni (nee DiCostanzo), 79, of Northvale, NJ, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Nicholas Varni. Cherished mother of Karen Biondi and husband Robert, Diane Monaghan and late husband John, Barbara Connell and husband Daz, Sharon Vadovic and husband Rich and Nicholas Varni and wife Danielle. Proud grandmother of Brianne and husband Chris, Anthony, Amanda, Brendan, Katelyn, Sam, Olivia, Emma, Nicholas, Mason and Sophia and great-grandmother of Avery, Genevieve, and Anthony. Treasured daughter of the late Giuseppe and Dorothy  DiCostanzo.  Loving sister of the late Peter DiCostanzo and late Rita DiCocco. Dear sister-in-law of Patricia DiCostanzo. Beloved aunt and cousin to many.

Cathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved to travel, go to the beach, play cards, dance and enjoy time with friends and family.  She was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the Northvale Golden Age Club, Northvale and Norwood Senior Centers and the Norwood/Northvale Women’s Club. She will be remembered for her bright smile, infectious spirit, and boundless energy and will be missed dearly.

Santo Mazzeo

Santo Mazzeo, 76, of Tappan, NY, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Santo was born in Messina, Sicily and immigrated to New York where he lived each day to provide the best possible life for his family.  From his days in Manhattan with his cousins to starting a family in Brooklyn, and then growing and creating roots for his family in Tappan, Santo lived his life’s purpose, to provide the best opportunities for his Wife (Gianna), Son (Carmine), and Daughter (Marcella), for his Grandson (Santino) and his Daughter-in-Law (Andie), with love and mischievous fun. His heart was anchored to his foundation in Sicily where he loved being surrounded by his cousins and in-laws.  Santo valued being surrounded by family, including friends that he considered family, and any opportunity to celebrate life. His spirit for life and his strong family values will continue to be celebrated and embodied by his family. 

Santo was a US Navy veteran. He retired from Con Edison and was a Control Operating Supervisor at the Waterside Station in NYC.
