Timothy Healy

Timothy Healy, 88, of Pearl River, died on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018. He was born on 6/23/1929 in the Bronx to parents Michael Healy and Beatrice O’Neill.  He met his wife Doris Seery and then in September of 1950 they were married at the Immaculate Conception Church in Queens. They have one son Michael Healy and his wife Susan. Grandfather of Justin and wife Tamara, Chelsea, Dylan, Tyler and Griffen. Dear brother of Margaret Garraston, James Healy, Anna Borucinski. He was predeaceased by his sister Beatrice Howfield, sister-in-law Anne Healy and brothers-in-law Willaim Garraston, Paul Howfield and John Borucinski.

Initially they lived in Huntington, LI before moving to Boston Corners, NY where he and Doris spent most of their lives.  In 2009 Tim and Doris started spending some time at their condo in Pearl River, NY and recently moved there permanently.  Timothy served 32 years as a police officer in the NYPD and retired as a Sergeant.  He was a member of the NYC Sergeants Benevolent Society as well as Gun Club in Boston Corners.  Timothy Healy loved traveling and Camping with is family – he enjoyed many trips and loved spending time with his wife, brother, sisters and his nieces and nephews.  Tim also enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid gardener, fisherman and always went for long walks where he socialized with his neighbors and friends.  Tim was known for telling a good story about the old days in the Bronx or his research about his family Irish history.  He is loved and will be missed.

Dorothy C. Fitzpatrick

Dorothy C. Fitzpatrick (nee Schwechheimer), 88, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Loving mother of Christine Fitzpatrick of Whitestone, John and husband Jack Siman of Jersey City, NJ, Joseph and wife Melanie of Southport, NC, Mary Natale and husband John of Wilmington, NC, Ellen Rapillo and husband Keith Ayers of Ringwood, NJ, George and wife Beth of Washingtonville, Peter and wife Lynn of Goshen, Conrad and wife Ann of Pearl River and Carol Deitrich and husband Kevin of Pearl River. Cherished grandmother of 22 and great-grandmother of six.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Paul M. Barsa

Paul M. Barsa, of Demarest, passed away suddenly on his 50th birthday on Monday, April 2, 2018. Beloved son of Louise and the late George Barsa of Demarest. Cherished brother of Marilyn Ram and husband Anthony of Teaneck, James Barsa and wife Gena of Norwood and Kathleen Barsa and husband Peter Ryan of Montgomery, NY. Loving uncle of Kristin, Jessica, Adrianna and Lauren. He is also survived by many other loving family and friends.

Eleanor Moylan

Eleanor Moylan (nee Corcoran), 81, of Norwood, passed away at home on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018. Beloved wife of Peter. Devoted mother of Peter, Jr. and the late Kylene. Loving mother-in-law of Emily. Adored grandmother of Elle and Isla. Dearest sister of Teresa Lotierzo and husband Michael, Francis McBride and husband Patrick, Joseph and late wife Barbara, Denis and wife Arlene and the late James, John and wife Mary, Thomas, Michael and Patrick and wife Gerri. Also survived by sister-in-laws Elaine, Eileen, and Linda Corcoran as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Eleanor spent her career at Chase Manhattan and Citicorp banks in New York. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Norwood. Esteemed graduate of St Pius in the Bronx. Her pride in being a 1st generation Irish American was only surpassed by her love and dedication to her family. She was easily recognized by her keen fashion sense and high pitched laugh which is a trait of the Corcoran women. Her kindness and spirit live on in all who knew her and loved her.

Alexander D. Senes

Alexander D. Senes, 72, of Old Tappan, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018. Beloved husband of Estela (nee Bachiglione). Cherished father of Melissa Hoffman and husband John of Doylestown, PA. Adored grandfather of Sienna and Ethan.

Alex was a Psychiatrist and retired from Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. He spoke five languages and taught at Saddle Brook High School for many years.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, loved music and playing the guitar, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

John L. Trebino

 

John L. Trebino, 91, a lifelong resident of Northvale, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018. Beloved husband of late Ruth (nee Hinsen). Cherished father of Ruthann Curley and husband Robert of Fuquay-Varina, NC and JoAnn Vossler and husband Paul of Altamont, NY. Adored grandfather of John and Heather Vossler, Barbara and Matthew Delgado and Debra Curley and great-grandfather of Mark, Gabriella, Alivia and Gregory. Dearest brother of Carole Lein and husband Al and uncle of Kevin and the late Robert.

Johnny was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving in the 4th Infantry Division. He owned and operated L Trebino and Son Contracting, a construction company started by his father, which he continued until his retirement. He served the borough of Northvale on the Planning Board for over 50 years and was a charter member of the Northvale Lions Club.

His family was most important to him. His devotion to his wife, Ruthie, set an example for so many people. His daughters were brought up as witnesses to his devotion, discipline and work ethic that they have modeled and passed along to their children. Johnny loved driving in his Cadillac especially to Atlantic City with Ruthie. He could also be found daily at D’Ercole Farms visiting with his many friends.

Christina F. Cardullo, 78, of Northvale, formerly of North Bergen, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Beloved wife of Joseph Cardullo. Cherished mother of Frederick Frick and his husband Steven Frear of Hillsdale. Dearest sister of Linda Finkledee and husband David of Manasquan. Loving aunt of Dana, Tara and Daniel.

Christina was a devoted wife and mother……..she had a big heart and helped many people in any way she could, either monetarily or just support. She worked her whole life until she got ill, and even after, she had a strong work ethic and cared deeply about her family and friends. Although not a practicing catholic—she held a passionate place for our Lord in her heart. She had a wonderful, and slightly odd sense of humor—and always saw the other person’s side—whether she agreed or not, always a true diplomat. Christina will be missed in abundance by family and friends

John Edward Skarzenski

John Edward Skarzenski, 90, of Harrington Park, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Beloved husband of Jean (nee DeCrescenzo). Loving father of Janice Mierzwa and husband Roger of Morris Plains and Carol de Lyon and husband Bruce of Dumont. Predeceased by his dear sons, Steven and John. Adored grandfather of James, Jennifer, Michael, Rachel, Aaron, Benjamin and Preston and great-grandfather of Jenna, Matthew and Rebekkah. Dear brother of Vincent and Walter and his wife Mary. Also survived by daughter-in-law, Laurie Summer.

John served in the US Merchant Marines during WWII. He retired from the Port Authority of NY/NJ in NYC where he was an engineer after 35 years. He was a member of the Cresskill American Legion and Knights of Columbus Immaculate Conception Council 9021, Norwood.

Eleanor T. Moore

Eleanor T. Moore (nee Reilly), 86, of Sparkill, formerly of Northvale, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Beloved wife of the late James F. Moore. Cherished mother of Margaret Markiewicz and husband Peter of Warwick, NY, Colleen M. Green also of Warwick, Alice Letherbarrow and husband Michael of Westtown, NY and Maureen Martin and fiancé Timothy of Ridgewood, NJ. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Michael Martin. Adored grandmother of Meghan (Jesse), Patrick (Kathryn), Brian, Conor, Kyle, Christopher and Jessica and great-grandmother, “GG”, of Mae. Dearest sister of Agnes McGann and the late Kathleen, Roseanne, Margaret, Edward and James. Also survived by her best friend, Theresa McDonnell.

A graduate of Cathedral High School in the Bronx, Eleanor was a dedicated and well-loved teacher’s aide for Bergen County Special Services in Rockleigh for many years and was a member of the NJEA. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church, Northvale and belonged to the Rosary Altar Society. She enjoyed time spent with friends at the Sparkill Senior Center and Thorpe Village. She will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family and friends and her deep and unwavering faith.

RoseMarie Ciolfi

RoseMarie Ciolfi (nee Vetrano), 88, a longtime resident of Tappan, passed away on March 20, 2018 surrounded by her loving daughters. Born in the Bronx on March 21, 1929 to the late Onofrio and Marta Vetrano. Devoted wife of the late Ronald. Beloved mother of Elena Williams and husband Harry of Nyack, Rosemarie Chadwick and husband Frederick G., Sr. of Tappan and Diane Bowling and husband Frank of Walden. Cherished grandmother of Frederick G., Jr. “JR” (Olivia), Maria (Sean), Luke, JennaRose (Anthony), Jennifer (Donald) and Nicholas. Dearest sister of Martha A. Greco and the late Carmine Vetrano.

Besides being a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, RoseMarie was a tireless volunteer. She was a very active Life Member of the Tappan Fire Association Ladies Auxiliary serving as president and secretary. She was also a member of the following auxiliaries; Rockland County Ladies (Chaplain), Hudson Valley, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hudson Valley Fireman’s Association. RoseMarie belonged to the Piermont Seniors and VFW Aux. as well as the Catholic Daughters (Court St. Anne #866). She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan. She retired from Silhouette Optical in Northvale where she was a sales rep.
