Michael Diceglie

Michael Diceglie, of Norwood NJ, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 69 after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Born and raised in Totowa, NJ; he was a resident of Norwood for the last 28 years.

Michael was full of life and the heart of the family.  He had a gift of gab, a knack for telling a story and the ability to make friends wherever he went.  He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Jennifer (nee Benvenuto).  He is also survived by his son, Christopher, and his wife , Jamie Marie and his daughter Jamie Beth Diceglie.  He also leaves behind his brother, Frank DeCeglie; his sister, Joanne Dagnino, and her husband, Dennis: and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his father and mother, Michael and Jennie, and his siblings, Grace Jansen and George DeCeglie.

Michael worked for Adalet Corporation as director of Sales and Marketing and at Chase Manhattan Bank – Real Estate Division.

He coached the Norwood Girls Softball Team and was also Director of Norwood Baseball and Softball Leagues. He was a member of the Electronic Young Tigers Association.  Michael was also a trustee for the Old Tappan High School Athletic Club and responsible for scholarship fundraising.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 3pm to 7pm at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ.  His funeral mass will be held at noon on Monday at St. Anthony’s RC Church, 199 Walnut Street, Northvale, NJ.

Eileen Neff

Eileen Neff, 78, of South Nyack, died on February 22, 2016 at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, NY, after a short and unexpected illness, with her loving family by her side.  She is survived by her best friend and husband of 53 years, Thomas E. Neff, her daughters Jennifer Grennan and Neal of Tappan, NY and Caryn Neff of Valley Cottage, NY.  She leaves behind her most cherished grandchildren Paige, Luke and Quinn Grennan, her sister, Mary Burke of Little Ferry, NJ and her brother, John F. McCarthy of Juno Beach, FL as well as her nieces and nephews.

 

Eileen was born in the Bronx on June 18, 1937 to John and Julia McCarthy (nee Burns).  She spent much of her childhood in the parish of Holy Spirit, Bronx, NY and graduated from Cathedral High School in Manhattan.  Eileen lived in Pearl River for fifteen years before moving to South Nyack where she enjoyed the Hudson River view.  She retired as a Teaching Assistant from the South Orangetown Central School District.  Her greatest joy was found in the company of her family – most especially her treasured grandchildren.  Her love of laughter and her unique insight will be deeply missed.

Rita E. Lonie

Rita E. Lonie (nee DeFedele), 83, of Northvale, passed away at home on Friday, February 19, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Colin.  Cherished mother of Maria Masillo and her husband Richard of Oviedo, FL. Adored grandmother of Ricky and Chrissy. Dearest aunt of Joseph, Vincent, David and Paul. Also survived by her Godson, Louis Spinozzi.  Pre deceased by her sister Frances Doherty and brothers, John DeFedele and Joseph DeFedele.

Rita retired from Snitow- Show Consultants in NYC where she was Vice President. She was an active member of the Northvale Golden Agers and McGuire Senior Center, which she was also on the Board of Trustees. Rita was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church in Northvale and was a Eucharistic Minister and worked Bingo for many years.  Always the life of the party, Rita will be missed by all who knew her.

Edward W. Casinover

Edward W. Casinover, 69, born in Astoria, NY, formerly of Pearl River, NY and Chicago, IL, and recently retired in Pasadena, MD to be with his grandsons, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.  Beloved husband of Jacqueline (nee Rutigliano).  Devoted father of Edward J. Casinover and his wife Christine of Severn, MD and Christina Sicuro and her husband Michael of Bloomingdale, IL.  Adored grandfather and favorite person of Anthony and Elliott, his little buddies.  Dearest brother of Patricia Favata and husband Anthony and William Casinover, loving Uncle and beloved friend to many.

Edward was a US Army Veteran and Patriot.  He retired from Key Bank, Westmont, IL, where he was an International Banker.

Sheila K. Conway

Sheila K. Conway (nee Butler), 79, of Norwood, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Loving wife of Richard J. Conway. Cherished mother of three sons; Richard B. and wife Lore of Tuxedo, NY, James F. and wife Charlene of Norwood and Sean C. and wife Wendy of River Vale. Adored grandmother of Richard, Else, Shauna, Holly, Emma, Mae, Kaitlyn and Brendan. Dearest sister of Patricia Casey, James Butler and John Butler. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Sheila will be remembered for her love of her family, especially her grandchildren, as well as her passion for singing, performing and tennis. She will be dearly missed.

John Edward English

John Edward English, 84, of Northvale, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Beloved husband of Alice M (nee Stears). Loving father of James and wife Patricia of Warwick, NY, Joseph of Tappan, NY, John of Old Tappan and Alice Lyman and husband John of Tappan, NY. Cherished grandfather of Jimmy, Joseph, Michael, Sean, Haley, Lauryn and Maya. Dear brother of Lillian Marrone and the late Carmel Casella and Agnes English.

Mr. English was an iron worker and life member of Local 40 in NYC. He also worked for the NYC Dept. of Buildings. Eddie was born with a passion for boating.  He especially enjoyed boating with his sons and grandchildren.  Eddie thrived on and enjoyed his family to the fullest. He also enjoyed his afternoon table at Dunkin Donuts, where he will be dearly missed.

John F. Foley

John F. Foley, 79, of Northvale, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016. Beloved husband of Gena (nee Martinelli) for 55 years. Loving father of Lisa Keogh of Northvale, Daniel Foley of Norwood and Gena Barsa and husband James of Norwood. Adored Poppi of Nicole, Kerri, Kaitlin, Jamie, Kelly, Adrianna and Lauren. Also survived by his sister, Carol Casey of Queens, NY, sister-in-law, Mary DiPalma of Bronx, NY and many nieces and nephews.

John was a US Army Reserve veteran. He worked for Sears in White Plains as a TV repairman for many years before retiring. He had belonged to the Knights of Columbus in Bergenfield.

Helen F. Lucas, (nee Bugler), 91, formerly of Paramus, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Paul. Charles J. Orlando, Jr., 81, of Somesville, ME, formerly of Demarest, passed away surrounded by family in Harrington Park on Sunday, February 14, 2016. Cherished husband for 51 years of the late Barbara. Loving father of Alison Goerg and her husband Mark of Harrington Park, Charles III of Harrington Park and the late Elizabeth Zagorski and her husband Michael of Ohio. Adored grandfather of Alexandra and Victoria Zagorski and Nicholas, Nenagh and Francesca Goerg. Dear brother of Joan Geiselhart and family. He dutifully served Columbia Presbyterian Hospital as Assistant Treasurer for 34 years. He lived for his family and his warmth and integrity will be deeply missed.
