Timothy Gerard Rooney

Timothy Gerard Rooney, 58, of Congers, New York, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Beloved husband of Janine Corona-Rooney; Tim and Janine met in 2003 and were married in October 2005. Together, they lovingly blended their families. A devoted father to Kaila and Kelsi. Tim also proudly took on the role of father to Daniel, Janine’s son, loving and supporting him as his own son. Together Tim and Janine added their son Jake, the perfect addition to complete their family. His guidance, encouragement, and love touched each of his children’s lives.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Margaret Rooney. The brother of Thomas Rooney (Carrie), Moira Concannon (Jimmy), Jeannine Woolley (Pete), and Joey Rooney (Shannon). He was also a caring Brother-in-Law to Debra Verdicchio (Jerry) and Danielle Fernandez (Victor), a cherished Son-in-Law to Joann Corona, predeceased father-in-law Tony Corona, and loving Father-in Law to Chelsea. He is survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.

Tim’s entire professional career was spent in the construction industry; he worked for various firms and at one point had his own Handyman business. His last professional role was as a Superintendent for Structure Tone STO Building Group for more than 15 years. A hardworking and dedicated man throughout his life, his greatest priority was providing for his family. Despite enduring daily struggles with debilitating back pain, he remained steadfast in his commitment to those he loved. Tim and Janine faced and overcame many life and health challenges together which strengthened the deep bond they shared.

A devoted New York Giants fan, Tim, rarely missed a game. Janine was always wondering how the rest of game day would turn out, a Giant’s win would result in Janine getting whatever she wanted, however should there be a particularly abysmal Giants performance Janine would exit stage left. Tim was always reading and challenging himself, he was known to spend time every day doing the crossword puzzle in the Daily News.

Tim was a lifelong admirer of Elvis Presley, especially his gospel music, which brought Tim comfort and joy. He loved to sing along to Elvis’s songs and was known to entertain family and friends with his Elvis impersonations, often using his quick wit to make those around him laugh.
He will be remembered for his dedication, quiet strength, resilience, sense of humor, and the love he shared with family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, New Jersey.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Pizzi Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, New York.
