To my good friend Bob:
I was knocked for a loop when I was glancing through the paper and immediately noticed Ann”s picture when I flipped the page. Somehow in the back of my mind I was always expecting to see your picture there first but we have no control over those things. I was a mere kid just out of high school when I worked my first summer for you and Ann when Rich Rieken didn’t have much work. Best thing he ever did for me. That was in July 1967. So if you were married for just shy of 60 years that made the three of us friends for just shy of 52 years. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about the moves, the trips, the warehouse and the trucks. If you didn’t catch my drift when I was talking with Frank when you came over, I have two prosthetic legs. Insulin dependent diabetes. Not surprising considering all the junk I ate over the years. Went to the cemetery a few times with them and uneven terrain as well as recent heavy rains would make footing precarious. Sorry, but it was best to stay away from that place today. Glad you had a sunny day for Ann’s funeral and I was able to get up there to say a final good bye. Getting ready to move to Montague (Sussex County) near my son, his wife and the grandkids. Will be renting a two bedroom ranch style house his in-laws own. Oh no, here comes the family bullshit again. It’s on a lot next to his in-laws which they bought to keep neighbors from getting too close He runs his refrigeration business and stores his car collection there in two large garages he has already out grown. Not ideal for me but when Tenafly sells I can look around for a small ranch more suitable for my needs. If you don’t have a kid in school there is no good reason to pay Tenafly taxes. If you want to catch up or do a lunch somewhere that can handle mobility challenged old farts, I’m in. House phone is 201 569 9623. Cell is 551 486 3844. Larry
