James A. Scaringe, 94, of Orangeburg, NY, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021. Beloved husband of 69 years to Mary (nee Pensiero). Proud father of four sons, James and wife Mary, John and wife Christine, Jerrold, and the late Joseph. Cherished grandfather of Danielle and Gabriella. Dearest brother of Carl, Uncle and cousin to dozens of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

“Eternal rest grant unto James, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
Mr. Scaringe was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, and I was lucky to have known him over the course of five decades. He touched a lot of people’s lives — mine included. My wife, Nancy, and I send love and prayers to the entire Scaringe family.
We are so sorry to hear this news and wanted to share our deepest condolences to Aunt Angie and the entire Scaringe Family as we adored Uncle Jimmy. I remember meeting him for lunch downtown every so often outside of City Hall when I was just working just up the street from him in the early 90’s. Prayers for the Lord’s healing during this difficult time.
God Bless you Jim and May you now Rest In Peace!
You were an extraordinary human being,; a gentleman amongst gentleman and a “cops cop”!
