  1. John was such a wonderful caring giving man. We cherish all the fond memories we shared with him and his grandchildren at St. Catharine’s pre k. From planting with the children, making videos for us, playing Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus and donating the most beautiful nativity display, he brought such joy, laughter, love, and fun to all the children and staff. We cherish the loving memory garden which was created in loving memory of his dear grandson Kevin. John was the “Grandfather” to the children at St. Catharine’s and a dear friend who I will keep forever in my heart.
With Deepest Sympathy and Prayers to his family

  3. Dear McDonald family
I was blessed to have John as a great friend. He helped me through my liver transplant as he did hundreds of other recipients and we have been very close almost 17 years
John was the heart of post and pre liver transplant support group he helped to build a network of support for all in need with doctors and social workers at Columbia working together.
He spoke privately to me of how proud of each grandchild and how they were such individuals and how blessed he was with Mary to help guide them in life growing up ,this as we sat in his kitchen like many times before both our wives had passed away within months of each other and we were all friends a long time John cooking dinner for us .
John was a warm gracious kind giving helpful the best listener to others problems I’ve ever known we’ll truly miss him
Thank you God for giving us John for the many people he touched
I know you are watching over us and your at peace in heaven
    Love Ralph Faga
