My heart is heavy at the loss of my dear friend, Paula. Distance and circumstance kept us apart too often, even now. I will cherish the memories I have of you as a beautiful friend. Vernon, Leigh and Kristen, my thoughts and prayers are with you. There is another angel in heaven.
All my love, Mary Ann
Paula was such a positive and encouraging teacher. It was so apparent that she came to know and care for each child in her class and wanted to honor each one for their contribution to the class community. I remember that she asked each student to share a gift/talent that they had with the class. My daughter decided to teach everyone dance so they all gathered in a circle and she taught them ballet positions. Paula created a community where it was safe for all members of the class to participate in whatever was offered and my daughter was encouraged by that experience. I knew her as a supervisor and she had the added challenge of having my daughter in her class at Mustard Seed School. I am sure that her knowing and caring was a blessing to so many students and families. I am a grateful witness to the beauty and grace of her life among us.
I only found out about this sadness last evening on Paula’s birthday. She and I began working in Norwood at the same time, creating a special connection. She was a very special woman and was very loved. I will miss her.
