Robert Q. Maines, 90, a lifelong resident of Tappan, NY, died on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in Nyack, NY, where he was born on August 1, 1932. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Gail (nee Sawbridge). He is predeceased by his brother, Bruce Maines.
Bob’s life and hobby was the medical industry and research. He developed many innovations and electronic instruments that are still used today. A man of many talents, Bob was a pilot and flew helicopters and airplanes and could fix anything that he put his mind to. He loved animals and especially his community. Bob was a brilliant and moral man and was always quick to give credit to Jehovah.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 4-7 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ. A service will be held at 6:15 PM and can also be viewed through the livestream link below:

It is with deepest sorrow that we say farewell to our dearest neighbor and great friend, Robert Maines. We will always remember Bob’s kindness and love. We will never forget him being there for us in times of need. Bob was an awesome human being with an abundance of knowledge to share. We will especially miss those silly moments when we made him laugh. God Bless you, Bob.

Gail! Soooo sorry for your loss! Bob was a dear, we had fun these past few weeks. Even here, high in the Caucasus I was able to attend the funeral and hear Russ and Gail speak. We will meet for coffee soon, and not long after that the four of us including Bob and Al will get together. Love you much. -Gigi
