Eion Douglas (Doug) Andrews, 76, a long time resident of Northvale NJ passed away on February 18, 2023 following a long illness. Doug was predeceased by his mother Gloria Jean Andrews and father Eion Norbert Andrews. He is survived by his sister Charla Anne Andrews and her husband Dr. Richard Koup of Washington, DC. A graduate of Old Tappan Regional High School, Doug served in the Air Force. He spent many years working in advertising and telecommunications support, most recently at Becton Dickinson. An automotive buff, Doug restored a number of classic British sports cars and amassed a large collection of model planes and cars. After retiring he did freelance technical writing and enjoyed dabbling in self-published fiction. He was a beloved brother, a sincere and caring friend and he will be missed. The family will observe a private service but donations to a local animal shelter or charity would be a lovely way to honor Doug.
Saddened by Doug’s passing. He was indeed a caring friend. I knew him in the 1960s – 80s and then lost touch. He helped me get my first 2 (second hand) cars, and advised on car matters, as well as being a wonderful person to hang out with: gentle, handsome, gallant, thoughtful, multi-talanted, artistic…
Charla, Let me know if you’re still reading these caring messages about Doug. Your whole family has always meant a lot to me. Love Marie Bettega Holtje
