Peter A. Grawehr Sr., beloved by so many, left this life on January 13, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Katherine (nee Egan), his children and their partners: Patty & Frankie McGee, Peter & Colleen Grawehr, Brian Grawehr & Tim Dorman; and his grandchildren Jack, Shay, Quin, Rowan, and Casey, in-laws, Pegi and Bob Whited and Susan Egan-Leary. His family was his ultimate joy.
The youngest of four children, Peter was born to August and Anastasia Grawehr in Boonton Township on August 14, 1939. His late siblings Theodore, Bernie, and Rita, and his late sister-in-law, Ellen, welcomed him into his heavenly home. He is survived by cherished in-laws Helen Grawehr and Rocky Tironi and by many nieces and nephews.
He is very proud of his 14-year sobriety and the network of support he was a part of.
Aside from just wanting to be around his family, he loved to crochet blankets, read, watch the Yankees, bake birthday cakes, be of service to others, and lector at church.

Kay and Family,
So sorry for you loss. Peter was a wonderful person and was gracious enough to be our guest preacher many times at the Warren Point Presbyterian church. Thinking and praying for you and your family at this difficult time. God Bless you all!
Darel Depompeo and family
Our hearts are heavy to hear of the passing of an old friend, Our kids went to school together and we spent many many years of fun and friendship. Love to the whole family
Peter was an angel and guiding force in my life when I needed it the most. We shared texts as we watched Yankee games together. He was so happy when I announced the arrival of my grandson that he knitted a beautiful blanket for him! He would make banana bread for me and my wife and shared his secret recipe with us. I will miss his laugh and his friendship.
My heart goes out, especially to my Aunt Kay and cousins. Peter, Patty and Brian as my Uncle Peter has passed into eternity. So many fond memories roll through my mind, as I reflect with appreciation. Some special things I remember come to mind such as his giddy laugh, and general sense of happiness….but beyond that, his sincerity and lack of pretense. My Uncle Peter was certainly a people person who was quite serious about his faith; I will surely miss him and our periodic lunch dates together!
so sorry to hear of Peter”s passing. he was one in a million. God bless you Kay and your family.
I remember Peter from many years back when he was a minister of the faith at my high school. I had great respect for him.
May he rest in peace with the Lord.
