Steve E. Fetcho

   Steve E. Fetcho, 78, of Northvale, formerly of Bergenfield, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012.  Beloved husband of Maureen (nee Roberts).  Loving father of Steve and his wife Lydia of Ruckersville, VA, Daniel and his wife Carol of Columbia, IL, and Jenise Esposito and her husband Rich of Haworth.  Adored grandfather of Christine, Eric, Nicole, Jennifer, Jonathan, Keith, Christopher, and Ricky.  Dear uncle of Robert Korzi.

   Mr. Fetcho was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and had been a member of the Bergenfield VFW.  Before retiring he was a transit officer for the New York City Transit Authority for over 20 years.

Angela Joan Renna

   Angela Joan Renna, 84, of New Milford since 1962, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012.  Beloved wife of the late Anthony Renna.  Devoted mother of Patricia Segedin and her husband Richard of Old Tappan, Angela Casey and her husband Frank of San Francisco, CA, Paula Hewitson and her husband Joseph of San Francisco, CA, and Donna Zambetti and her husband Edward of Gulf Breeze, FL. Sister of Loretta Sutera, Josephine Vieitez, Larry Pitarresi, and the late Frances Ludwig.  Adored grandmother of Richard, Jane, Julianne, Jaclyn, Thomas, Robert, Brandon, Terra, Gioanna, James, Matthew, Andrew, and Alanna.  Predeceased by her grandbaby Joseph.  Cherished great-grandmother of Nick, Aidan, and Joey.

   “Angie” had an infectious laugh, a ferocious jitterbug and a beautiful smile.  She will be remembered for her love of boating, fishing, tending her garden, cooking and baking.  She will be dearly missed.

   Visiting hours are Saturday 10 AM to 1 PM at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale.  A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM with entombment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Johanna B. Distefano

   Johanna B. Distefano (nee D’Andrea), 75, of Northvale, entered into restful peace on Thursday, July 26, 2012.  Johanna grew up in Orange, NJ, the daughter of the late Berardino and Anna D’Andrea. Johanna attended Immaculata College in Immaculata, PA and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Home Economics.  She went on to receive her Masters in Special Education in 1992.  On a blind date set up by her aunt and uncle, she met the love of her life, Louis Distefano.

   She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Louis, and 6 children; Lou and his wife Theresa of Valley Cottage, NY, Cynthia Metzger and her husband Gene of Washington Twp., Lisa Ortelere of Mahwah, Nadine of Suffern, NY, Robert and his wife Carole of Wall, and Jim of Brooklyn, NY. She was predeceased in death by her son Joseph.  She was the dear sister of Bernardino D’Andrea, Rita Harvey, Rosangela Zaccaria and the late Catherine and Salvatore. 

   Nonni was adored by her eight grandchildren; Brady, Logan, and Kaidyn Distefano; Isabella and Emma Metzger; Joseph Ortelere; and Nicholas and Katie Distefano. Nonni took great pride and joy in attending their many school and sports-related activities and watching them grow into the fine young people they are.

   Johanna worked at Bergen County Vo-Tech High School in Paramus as a teacher of the handicapped for 25 years. An avid knitter, Johanna loved making beautiful sweaters for her children and grandchildren. She was also a talented painter, loved to dance, and was a member of the “Red Hat Club”. “Hot Nonni” could be seen driving around town in her red convertible and straw hat. She and Louis were former members of the Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Throughout their lives they enjoyed travelling around the world and wintering in Naples, FL.

Joseph Tully

   Joseph Tully, 64, of Northvale, passed away at home on Thursday, July 19, 2012.  Devoted husband of Lee (nee Bettega).  Beloved father of Jocelyn Pina and her husband Jim of Norwood.  Loving grandfather of Megan and Elizabeth.  Cherished brother of Maura and John and brother-in-law of Jim, Julie, Julianna, and George.  Beloved uncle of Sara and her husband Chris, Benjamin, Kayleigh, Luke, and Liam.  Also survived by many other dear relatives and friends.

   Joe was born in London, England of Irish parents, and emigrated to America in 1974.  He became a proud American citizen in 1987.  He served his community for 17 years with the Northvale VolunteerAmbulance Corps.

    Joe was much loved and his sense of humor and selfless heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Cecilia Piller

    Cecilia Piller(nee Babits), 78, of Northvale, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012.  Devoted wife of Joseph.  Cherished mother of Anna Totaro and her husband James of Tenafly, Anthony of Northvale, George of Northvale, and Silvia Hekl and her husband Timothy, also of Northvale.  Adored grandmother of James, Jessica, Anthony, Nicole, John, and Gavin and great-grandmother of Vincent and Peter.  Dearest aunt of Anthony Herber and his wife Louise and Joseph Herber.
  Mrs. Piller left Hungary in 1956, lived in New York City and eventually settled in Northvale in 1966. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family, her love for the United States, and her favorite pastimes, watching the Yankees and spending time in her garden.  She was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s RC Church in Northvale.  Before retiring, Mrs. Piller worked for Excel Elastic in Northvale for over 30 years.

Raymond J. Mould

   Raymond J. Mould, 83, of Northvale, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 17, 2012.  Devoted husband of Lorraine (nee Lucks).  Dear brother of Joseph Mould and his late wife Aster of RI, and Evelyn Kearns of Ridgefield.  Cherished uncle of Arlene, Barbara, David, and Alan and other loving family members.

   Mr. Mould was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.  Before retiring he was a salesman for Goldsmith & Engleton in Westwood for 25 years and for five years worked in the Sears Hardware Department.  He was an active parishioner and choir member of St. Anthony’s RC Church, Northvale, was past-president of the Old Time Eagles in Oradell, and belonged to the VFW Post 162 in Northvale.

Vincenzina “Nancy” Apicella

   Vincenzina “Nancy” Apicella (nee Criscillo), 98, of Norwood, formerly of Brooklyn, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012.  Beloved wife of the late Louis.  Devoted mother of John and his wife Marion of FL, Jimmy and his wife Maryann of Long Island, and Mary Stella and her husband Carmine of Norwood.  Adored grandmother of Louis, Mary, Jamie, Nancy, Carmine, and Diana.  Predeceased by her grandson Louie Stella, her brothers Al Criscillo, Sam Criscillo, and sister, Anna Cipriano.  Also survived by many loving relatives.

Helen Veronica Cahill

   Helen Veronica Cahill (nee O’Connor), 85, a longtime resident of Northvale, NJ, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 16, 2012.  Beloved wife of the late Edward and loving sister of the late Josephine Reilly and Madeline Brady.  Beloved mother of Maggie Cahill of San Francisco.  Helen is also survived by Maggie’s partner Janet Haire, and her brother John O’Connor and his wife Mary Ellen of Waccabuc, NY.  She is also survived by many loving family members and friends.

   Mrs. Cahill was an active parishioner and Eucharistic Minister of St. Anthony’s RC Church, Northvale and a member of the Northvale Senior Center.  Helen worked in Advertising for the William H. Weintraub advertising agency before retiring to start a family.  She also worked for her husband’s company Slayden & Cahill Construction Company and for Midlantic Bank in Northvale.

   She was a loyal and loving friend to many. We celebrate her life and take heart in having known and witnessed the kindness and generosity she freely extended to all. Helen is sadly missed and much loved and will forever remain so.

Lynn Mazzilli

   Lynn Mazzilli (nee Scimeca), 45, of Northvale, passed away at home on Friday, June 29, 2012.  Beloved wife of Christopher.  Devoted mother of Erica Capabianca, and Halle and Dylan Mazzilli.  Cherished daughter of Carmela Scimeca of Norwood and the late Vincent.  Adored sister of Joan Scaglione of Suffern, NY, Mary Jahoda of Otisville, NY, and Susan Yaiser and her husband Glenn of Vernon, NJ.  Also survived by many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

  It goes without saying she will be deeply missed by her entire family. We can only strive to be as youthful, selfless, and nurturing as she was throughout her life.

Frank Buonocore, Jr.

   Frank Buonocore, Jr. “Don”, 89, a lifelong resident of Walnut Street in Northvale, who wintered in West Palm Beach, FL, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012.  Beloved husband of the late Rosalie (nee Dugo).  Devoted father of Susan Fazio of Park Ridge, Linda Newton and her husband James of Saddle River, and Frank J. Buonocore of Park Ridge.  Cherished grandfather of Joseph, Michael, and Jeffrey Fazio, and Lisa, Richard, Jr., Andrea, and Christopher Bruno.  Dearest brother of Agnes Albanese of Northvale and Jim Buonocore of New Kingston, NY.  Predeceased by his son-in-law Joseph A. Fazio and his brothers George and Robert.

   Mr. Buonocore was a proud US Navy Veteran of WWII.  He was an active life member and ex-chief of the Northvale Volunteer Fire Department, serving for over 65 years.  He retired from Hydrotherm Inc. in Northvale, where he worked for over 30 years.

   Don will always be remembered as a devoted family man, a loyal friend, a tireless volunteer, and a great baseball player.
