Richard H. Hubbard, 79, of Northvale, formerly of West Paterson, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016. Beloved husband of Arlene (nee Kilcommons). Devoted father of Lynn Hubbard of Brick, Leslie Hubbard Tristram and her husband Scott of Clifton, Richard Hubbard of Woodland Park and the late Cheryl Hubbard Diehl. Adored grandfather of Alyssa Diehl, Danielle Diehl and Tianna Hubbard. Dear brother of Earl, Carol Miller, Lois Ferrara, Ernest, Melissa Hubbard and the late Willard, Alvin and Elaine Scala. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Richard was a US Army Veteran. He retired from Chrysler Motors Corporation after 34 years and owned and operated Tri-State Inventory Service until the present. A 50 year life member of the West Paterson Fire Department and Rifle Camp Fire Company #3, he served as president, captain and treasurer. He was also treasurer of the West Paterson Exempt and Relief Associations as well as the Passaic County Relief Association.

Antonio Velazquez II

Antonio Velazquez, II, 50, of Northvale, formerly of Union City, NJ passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Beloved husband of Anna D’Emilio. Predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Iraida Velazquez, and stepfather Gil Francisco. Loving brother of Carlos Velazquez and his wife Evelyn, and sister Iris Negron and her husband Edward. Dearest son-in-law of Maria D’Emilio and the late Antonio, and brother-in-law of Carmine and Christine D’Emilio, Lena D’Emilio and fiancé Joseph Durante, and Diana and Stephen Zondorak.  Adored uncle of Jason, Victoria, Layla, Brandon, Adam, Austin, Steven and Abigail.  He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be dearly missed by his dog & buddy, Cesar the Great.

Antonio was a US Army Veteran and a graduate of La Salle Academy and Fairleigh Dickenson University.  He worked for New York Life as an insurance agent. He enjoyed Kung Fu, collecting comic books, was a political science, music, science fiction and sports car enthusiast, and enjoyed supporting his favorite teams, the New York Mets and the New England Patriots.

Michael Joseph S. Cecco

Michael Joseph S. Cecco, 22, of Northvale, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Cherished son of Michael and Janine (nee Olivo). Loving brother of Janelle Cecco of Hoboken. Adored grandson of Joseph Cecco and the late Sue and the late Natale and Eleanor Olivo. Michael Joseph is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. His amazing heart, infectious laugh and smile, and sense of style will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Dorothea C. McDonough

Dorothea C. McDonough (nee Atkinson), 94, of Harrington Park, passed away at home on Saturday, January 2, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Patrick John McDonough. Loving mother of Thomas A. of Washington DC, Mary T. Young of Exton, PA, John Patrick of Harrington Park, Jeanette McMullen and husband Steve of E. Brunswick and Noreen McDonough of Starksboro, VT. Predeceased by her son Michael P, granddaughter Amanda, grandson Christopher and sisters, Winifred Boyce and Marion O’Neill. Cherished grandmother of Halley, Waverly, David, Sean, Brittany, Patrick, Deirdre and Caitrin and great-grandmother of Orion and Liam.

Dorothea was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Harrington Park and was a longtime member of the Rosary Society.

The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Victories, Harrington Park on Wednesday at 9 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee.

Juliette Poivan

Juliette Poivan (nee George), 78, formerly of Fort Lee, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Arthur James Poivan. Devoted mother of Jo Ann Poivan-Traub of Northvale and the late George Poivan. Adored grandmother of Alan and Jacqueline Mae. Dearest sister of Marlene Barnes and husband Jerry, George George and wife Samyra, Gabriel Georgeian and wife Kathleen and Ferida George and husband Abbas. Predeceased by her sister Jacqueline Habib and sister-in-law Elisa George.

Juliette was a fashion designer who worked at Elaine Ames on Engle Street in Englewood for many years.

Thomas Walsh

Tom Walsh, 91, native of Knocknagoshel, Co. Kerry, and resident of Tappan, passed away on December 19, 2015. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and son – Kitty (nee Nolan) and William. Cherished father of Mary Danner (Danny), Kathleen Paxton (Jim), Monica Rolston (Mark) and Jamie Walsh (wife of Will). Brother of Janie, Moll, Mick, predeceased by siblings Willie, Dan, Joan, Jane, Jack, Nell and Nora. Adored papa of Kate, Chris, Keith, Jamie, Mike, Dan, Tom, Paul, Laura, Caroline and Thomas.

Retired bus mechanic (MABSTOA) and paper handler at NY newspapers. Tom was a member of The Kerrymans Assoc., Bergen Irish and the Irish Cultural Center, where he was a faithful card player. Devoted fan of the Kerry football team, NY Rangers and his grandchildren’s sports teams.

Barbara Ann Hartman

Barbara Ann Hartman (nee Simon), 83, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Devoted mother of Michael of Duncan, SC, Patricia Schaefer and fiancé Barry Bradshaw of Apex, NC, Stephen and wife Robin of Old Tappan, Eileen LaRosa and husband Thomas of Tomkins Cove, NY, Mary Jordan and husband Joseph of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY, Suzanne Aluise and husband Ted of Castleton-On-Hudson, NY and Andrew and wife Deborah of Garrison, NY.  Cherished grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Dearest sister of Francis Simon of WA. Dolores Alfis

Dolores Alfis (nee DeRienzo), 67, of Northvale, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Beloved wife of the late David. Devoted mother of David Jr. of NYC and Tracy Littlewood and her husband Thomas of Arlington, TN. Cherished grandmother of Thomas, Tyler, Todd and Troy. Dear sister of Lenny DeRienzo. Loving aunt of Alexis, Dustin and Sally. Also survived by her extended D’Ercole family as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Dolores was a selfless, giving woman who dedicated many years to the residents of Northvale. She worked at the James F. McGuire Senior Center since 1991, first as an office worker and volunteer, becoming director in 2002. She also could be counted on to organize annual Christmas Tree Lightings, Easter Egg Hunts and other community events. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy Hunihan

Dorothy A. Hunihan (nee Stasco), 83, passed away peacefully at Cabrini of Westchester, NY and entered into eternal life on December 8, 2015.  Born in Bridgeport, CT on October 14, 1932, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Dorothy Stasco.  Predeceased by her beloved ex-husband Andrew Hunihan and her beloved brother and sister, William Stasco, Jr and Isabel Variano. 

   Dottie is survived by her dear friend Frank McNevins.  She was the devoted mother to her loving daughters Diane and Rick Hulswit of Danbury, CT, Linda and Mike Casey of Norwood, NJ and Teresa and Tom Terino of Atlantic Beach, NY.  She was the ‘Nana Dot’ of Brian and Shannon, Christian and Tommy, Pete, Michelle and Karen.  Dorothy is also survived by her dear sisters Pat Dannenburg, Judyann Fatacanti and MaryLou Collon

   She resided in Newtown, CT before moving to Mt. Kisco, NY.  Prior to her retirement, Dorothy was the Office Manager at Mt. Kisco Supply Co for many years.

   A funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Mt. Kisco on Thursday, December 17 at 10am.

Catherine F. Lesica

Catherine F. Lesica, 83, of Blauvelt, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Charles J. Lesica. Adored mother of Carol Conklin-Spillane and her husband Brian of Old Tappan, Ronald Lesica and his wife Lisa of Blauvelt, Linda Bertoncini and her husband Robert of Centerville, OH and Richard Lesica and his wife Jeanette of Lecanto, FL. Cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren.

Catherine, along with her husband, Charles, owned and operated Pearl River Lanes for 40 years. She was very active in the Bowling Proprietors Association for many years on both the State and National levels and once received an award for Proprietor of the Year.
