Jeanette A. Bonardi (nee Vanacore), 89, of Orangeburg, NY, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Edward Bonardi. Adored mother of Michael Bonardi of Congers, Steven Bonardi and wife Christine of Blauvelt and Richard Bonardi and wife Virginia of Blauvelt. Proud grandmother of Joseph, Eric, Julia, Alexandra, Christopher and Sophia. Dearest sister of Anthony Vanacore, Dolly Eufemia, Ralph Vanacore and Henry Vanacore.

Jeanette was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a Charter Member of Romanesque Lodge 2198 in Blauvelt. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 10 am at St. Catharine’s RC Church, Blauvelt with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill NY.

Edward J. McDermott, 86, of Northvale passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, December 2, 2023.  

Born to Delia and Jack McDermott of County Roscommon, Ireland, he was a proud Irishman.  He was one of four siblings, Sr. Maeve McDermott, Jack McDermott, and Joseph McDermott, all of whom he loved dearly.  

Edward is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, with whom he travelled the world. Ed is also survived by his three children and their spouses, Mary & Christian Fierabend, John McDermott, and Edward & Jennifer McDermott.    Edward, aka Pop-Pop, also leaves behind his six grandchildren who he loved and adored, Joseph, Michael, Molly, Giuliana, Victoria, and Ava.

Visitation and celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, between 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, New Jersey.  A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at St. Anthony’s Church, 199 Walnut Street, Northvale, New Jersey with a burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, 500 Fairview Avenue, Fairview, New Jersey.

Terry Mastropasqua, 77, of Norwood, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023. He was predeceased by his beloved wife  Patricia and loving son David. Survived by his daughter Jackie Monico and her husband Louis and daughter-in-law Daniela. Proud grandfather of Connor, Logan and Emily. Dearest brother of Effie Scutnik and husband Joe and Holly Gilpin and husband Dave. Also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

Terry was a diesel mechanic  for the Port Authority of NJ/NY before retiring. A hard worker, Terry also enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Felix Armando Lopez of Park Ridge, New Jersey, born June 5, 1934, in Formosa, Argentina to Pablo and Luisa Lopez, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, December 1, 2023.  Despite his many ailments, he never complained and took each one with grace and dignity and fought until the very end.

Husband of Mirtha Lopez (nee Paron) for 61 years. Cherished father of Ali Betts and her husband John. Proud Grandfather of Ashley Larkin and her husband Brian, Alex Rodriguez predeceased by her husband Pete Moulin-Malish, Danielle Betts and Johnny Betts. Adored Nonno of William and Maude Larkin.

Felix moved his family to Miami, Florida, in 1968 and worked as an auto body repairman until the young age of 83, when he retired. He had a love for sports, basketball being his favorite. He was the best at Argentinian parrilladas and always took over the grill at family functions while sipping his Chianti. To all who met him he was an adorned friend. He spent every moment of his life working and fighting hard, and always had the best stories, highlighting his most proud moments throughout his lifetime in Argentina, Florida, and New Jersey.

In celebration of his life, family and friends will be having an intimate gathering, with those closest to them, to share stories of all the amazing accomplishments, honoring his life. Katherine P. Gallucci, born March 16, 1927, of Harrington Park, NJ, passed away in her home of 70 years on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. She was 96 years old.

Beloved wife of the late Michael J. Gallucci. Loving mother of Michael and wife Dale, Donna, Gary and wife Patricia, Steven and wife Susan and Ronald. Proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.

Katherine was born in the Chelsea area of New York City to Martha and Alexander Booke where she lived her youth before marrying and moving to New Jersey to start a family.

Katherine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed making numerous visits to Atlantic City. She earned the moniker “Queen of the Taj Mahal Casino”. She was known by many people that worked and visited at the casino. It brought great enjoyment to her for over 30 years.

Visitation is Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 10 AM – 12 PM with a funeral service at 12 PM. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.

Marilyn Criscuolo (nee Byron), 80, of Toms River, NJ, formerly of Dumont, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.  Beloved wife of the late Vincent.  Devoted mother of Mark and his wife Teresa of Northvale and Matthew and his wife Donna of Vernon.  Cherished grandmother of Nicholas and Sara, John, Jessica (David), Arianna and Andrew.  Dearest sister of Anne Hobby. Marilyn worked in medical billing for many years before retiring. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved being with her grandchildren, her dog, Daisy, and walking on the beach.

John P. (Jack) Flynn, 91, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, formerly of Blauvelt, NY, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023. Born in Jersey City, NJ on November 18, 1932 to Margaret (nee Mackin, Armagh, Ireland) and Patrick (Roscommon, Ireland).  Husband of Agnes B. (nee Healy) for 67 years.  Survived by brothers James and Patrick.  Predeceased by brother Michael. Cherished father of Margaret Johnson and husband Timothy, John Flynn and wife Patricia (McGrail), Kevin Flynn and wife Tania (Wanderley), Patricia Doyle and husband Timothy, Theresa Krell and husband Steven, Maureen Flynn, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth (Civan) Flynn. Proud grandfather of Bridget Johnson, Caitlin Johnson, Michael Flynn and wife Tiffany (Bentley), Robert Flynn and wife Amy (Rowland), Daniel Flynn, Christopher Flynn, Brian Doyle, Kelly Doyle-Crossman and husband Stephen, Steven Krell, John Krell and Patrick Krell. Adored great-grandfather of Eamon Flynn, Eoghan Flynn, Grace Flynn, Helene Flynn and Ellie Flynn.

John was a survivor of both the South Bronx (St. Jerome’s Parish) and the Korean War where he defended our country at the otherwise tender age of 17. He was a proud member of theNYPD and then the FDNY for 34 years, and for almost 20 years served as the Captain of his beloved Ladder Company 34 (“Where Harlem Reaches the Heights”). He was a parishioner of St. Catharine’s RC Church, Blauvelt, NY and St. Patrick’s Church, Palm Beach Gardens, Fl.  The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Jupiter Medical Center and Trustbridge Hospice.

Visiting hours are Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 2-6 PM.

Flora F. Seligman (nee Schwickrath), 100, of Norwood, NJ, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Bertram Seligman. Loving mother of Albert and Arthur and his wife Susan. Thomas John McDermott, of Old Tappan, NJ, son of the late Cornelius and Margaret McDermott, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the age of 77. Tom grew up in Jersey City and attended St. Aloysius H.S. and graduated from St. Peter’s College where he was a charter member of Alpha Phi Omega.

Tom and his loving wife Edna recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. They have three children, Gregg and his wife Kimberlee, and their adored grandson, Gavin George. James McDermott, his wife Alice and Susan Daugherty and her husband Robert. Tom is also survived by his brother Neil McDermott and his beloved sister-in-law Susan and her husband Richard Bergeman.

Tom retired as a Global Account Manager for Verizon. Always civic minded, Tom gave back to his Old Tappan Community in so many ways. He was a Life Member and Ex-Captain of the Old Tappan Fire Department, he also served on the Old Tappan Council from 1984-1986. He was a leader and pioneer whose dedication led to the success of the first Municipal Joint Insurance Fund in the state of New Jersey. Tom also served for many years on the NJ Supreme Court Juvenile Conference Committee. He also served as President of the Home School Association of Our Lady of Victories in Harrington Park, NJ.

Woodloch Pines was a cherished destination where he and his wife Edna spent wonderful moments of family celebrations.

Gloria Lorraine Cornella (95) passed away peacefully on November 21st, 2023 just one day shy of her 96th birthday. She had been a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church in Northvale.

Predeceased by her parents, sisters and brother, her memory lives on and she is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

Prior to her retirement Gloria was employed at Kanebridge Corporation holding various positions over the years. She was well-respected by all and very dedicated to her work.

Gloria had a great love of books and often spent her spare time immersed in reading and doing puzzles. She loved entertaining and hosting holidays as well as traveling and seeing new places. Gloria stayed very active for a great portion of her life and was a fantastic dancer. She always welcomed new opportunities and did everything with honesty and integrity. She had very strong values and was well-liked by everyone, mostly due to her positive energy. She had incredible patience, and always made time to help others. She will be missed by family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors.

Visitation and celebration of her life will be held at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ on Friday, November 24th from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A prayer and memorial service will take place at 1:00pm. Immediately following services she will be laid to rest at the Garden of Memories, 300 Soldier Hill Rd., Paramus, NJ.
