James J. Remo

James “Jimmy” Remo, 38, of Northvale, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015. He was an avid Yankee fan and a die-hard Miami Dolphin fan. He was always the guy with a smile and a welcoming hug.

Jimmy is survived by his three year old twin girls, Madison Grace and Riley Beatrice whom he adored and gave him the greatest joy. He is also survived by his mother Judy Remo (nee D’Amico), his brother Anthony, sister-in-law Heather and niece and nephew Nicholas and Adrianna. His family and friends will miss him dearly.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 29 at 10:00 AM at Pizzi Funeral home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale with interment at Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday July 28 from 6-9 PM.

Mary Smyth

Mary Smyth(nee Kennedy), 85, of Old Tappan, formerly of Dumont, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015. Loving wife of John J. Smyth. Devoted mother of Kevin and his wife Gwen of Old Tappan, Marie Homa and her husband James of Stockholm, NJ, and Sharon Giardini and her husband Daniel of New City, NY. Adored grandmother of Kasey, Matthew, Kevin, Jr., Christopher, Ryan, Kyle, Danielle and Riley. Dearest sister of BridieMcGuire, James Kennedy and the late Thomas Kennedy.

Mary was a dental assistant at Fairleigh Dickinson University for 23 years. She was a parishioner of St. Pius X RC Church, Old Tappan. Mary spent her spare time doting and loving her grandchildren and all those who crossed in her path.

John J. Fontana

John J. Fontana, 70, of Northvale, passed away at home on Thursday, July 23, 2015. Beloved husband of Joanne (nee Lex). Devoted father of Jean Buzzell and her husband Nick, Julie Cabnet and her husband Kevin and Matthew and his wife Lauren. Adored grandfather of Vincent, Joseph, Jake and Gia Grace. Dearest brother of Phyllis Kelly and the late Thomas. Also survived by his brother-in-law Charles Ullrich and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

John owned Headlines by Pantana in Norwood and Northvale where he was a hair stylist for over 35 years before retiring. He will be dearly missed for his kind heart, quick wit and great sense of humor.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 10 AM to 12 Noon at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale with a memorial service to be held at 12 noon.

Timothy Jay Sargeant

Timothy Jay Sargeant – Franklin, VT – passed away suddenly on Friday, July 17, 2015 at his home in Northvale, NJ. He was 54. He was born on May 24, 1961 in Rutland, VT, and only child of Everett and Arlene Sargeant. Tim worked for many years as an EMT for Franklin Rescue and assisted the Franklin Fire Department in his time off.  He was employed with Mor’ Power Equipment Inc. where he worked alongside his in-laws, Kurt and Ivy Liebmann for the last five years. He enjoyed learning and retelling family and Franklin town history.  Tim was an amazing man with a great sense of humor and a loving heart.

He leaves behind his wife Wendy Sargeant, four step children Cassi Stilianessis; Dreyton and Jenna Caputo and grandson, Dominic J. Caputo; Abigail Stilianessis and fiancé Brett Santor; Michaela Stilianessis and special friend Patrick Perreault; as well as many cousins in Vermont, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Florida.  He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at the Franklin United Church, 5414 Main St Franklin, VT on Monday July 27, 2015 at 10am.

Another Service will be held at Mosaic Christian Fellowship in Chodae Community Church, 100 Rockland Ave Norwood NJ on Aug 1 at 8pm.

Dorothy Carroll (nee Beamish), 84, of Palisades, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Ronan Carroll. Cherished mother of Michael and his wife Maureen of Palisades and Mary Ellen of Valley Cottage. Adored grandmother of Ronan, Will and Claire.

Dorothy was a secretary for many years for Volvo in Rockleigh, NJ. Prior to that she worked for Teamsters Local 456 in Elmsford.

Norma Rufo-Seebach (nee Macaluso), 64, of Tappan, formerly of Northvale, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Beloved wife of Allan F. Seebach, Jr. Adored mother of Melissa Rufo of Old Tappan, Natalie Salvi and her husband John of West Milford, Suzanne Degasperis and her husband Christopher of Saddle River, and Vanessa Rufo of NYC. Cherished grandmother of Victoria, Olivia, Julia, Amanda, Isabella, Sofia and Christian. Dearest sister of Anthony Macaluso and wife Grace, Leonard Macaluso and Paul Macaluso and wife Leatha. Zonnia Serrano-Ingraham

Zonnia Serrano-Gonzalez Ingraham, 80, went to eternal rest on Friday, July 17, 2015. Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico she attend The Academia del Sagrado Corazón and went on to study at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Pierdras.

She moved to the States and several years later embarked on a teaching career in Paterson, NJ where she worked in various capacities in the Bilingual and Basic Skills Programs.   She enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching. She had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed her many camping trips to Maine, as well as spending time in her garden, but above all her favorite pastime was talking about her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Enrique Serrano and Carmen Gonzalez as well as her brother Francisco “Paco” Serrano-Gonzalez all of Puerto Rico, and her beloved chocolate lab Jack.

She is survived by her children, David and his wife Ellen, Paola Yammarino and her husband Joseph, Robert and his wife Susan, and her beloved and cherished grandchildren – Maureen and Andrew Ingraham, J.B., Jared and Jonathan Yammarino.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, Closter. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale.

Vincent Auletta

Vincent Auletta, 85, of Norwood, formerly of New Milford, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015. Beloved husband of Frances L. (nee Mager). Cherished father of Donna Perazzo and her husband David of Tuxedo Park, NY and Rhonda Martin and her husband James of River Vale. Adored grandfather of Lisa Walz and husband Greg, Christen Anz and husband Isaac, Heather Caporaso and husband Matthew, Scott Martin and Sarah Martin. Dear brother of Arthur Auletta of New Milford and loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Vincent was a five year US Naval Air Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from PSE&G after 40 years of service. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council 3814 in Oradell and the Westwood Elks. Vincent also enjoyed playing pool, golf and bowling, along with his wife, Frances.

Peter F. Glynn, Jr.

Peter Francis Glynn, Jr., 83, of Cresskill, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Beloved husband of Ann C. (nee Dillon). Adored father of Peter F. Glynn III of Cresskill, Cathy Glynn of Cresskill and Maureen Finn and husband John of Northvale. Cherished grandfather of Jessica, Ryan, Bobby and Katie. Dearest brother of Thomas Glynn and wife Eileen of Tuxedo, NY and the late Florence Glynn.

Peter was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War and belonged to the VFW Post 3286 and American Legion Post 21, both of Cresskill. He retired from the US Postal Service. He was a parishioner of St. Therese Church in Cresskill and was a member of its Knights of Columbus Chapter and the Cresskill Senior Citizens.

Sheila retired from the NYC Bd of Ed where she was a cook for many years. She belonged to the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association, the Celtics Gaelic Football Club, and the O’Sullivan School of Irish Dancing.
