Theresa Timpanaro, 50, of Northvale, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Donald. Devoted mother of Nicole, Anthony and Louis. Cherished daughter of Margaret and the late Anthony Maglione of Tappan. Loving sister of Anthony Maglione and wife Ivonne of the Bronx and Rita Morea and husband Richard of Norwood. Dearest daughter-in-law of Patricia and the late Louis Timpanaro and sister-in-law of Louis and Ann Margaret Timpanaro and Kelly and Michael Gulevski. Beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Theresa devoted her life to her family, especially her children. Always upbeat and with a smile, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She worked at Pearson in Old Tappan for many years.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, Northvale with entombment to follow at Garden of Memories, Washington Twp. Visitation is Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 at Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale.

Maria Libera Venezia (nee Matera), 82, of Emerson, formerly of Northvale, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 22, 2018.

She was born in Italy on Sept. 6, 1935, and came to the United States at age 13. She started work as an embroidery seamstress, then became a master craftswoman of custom window treatments. Most of all, she was devoted to all things related to her family. Her gifted hands cooked, sewed, crocheted, and made floral arrangements. She volunteered for schools and churches, and was a member of the Northvale Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary in the 1970s.

She was a parishioner at St. Andrew’s R.C. Church in Westwood, and formerly of St. Anthony’s R.C. Church in Northvale. She held deep devotion to the Rosary and Mary, and attended Mass almost every day.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Rocco; her cherished children, Joyce Venezia Suss and husband Sherwin; Lisa Venezia Thomas and husband Charles; and Anthony Venezia; her treasured grandchildren, Jacqueline (Robert), Jeanette (Matthew), Rebecca, Mollie, Nicholas, and Elizabeth; her brothers, Gennaro, Biagio, and Joseph; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Pasqualina Gramuglia, and her parents, Cristina and Nicola Matera.

Visitation is Monday from 3-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave., Northvale (201-767-3050). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Anthony’s RC Church, Northvale. Entombment to follow at Madonna Mausoleum in Fort Lee.

Vincent J. Gulfo, 86, of Blauvelt, NY, formerly of Haworth, NJ, and Brooklyn, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Betty (nee Clementi). Loving father of Mary Keagul and wife Kathleen of Eastham, MA, Vincent Gulfo and wife Mary of Warwick, NY, Elizabeth Gulfo of Harrington Park, NJ and Joseph Gulfo and wife Adele of NYC. Adored grandfather of Kathryn and husband Josh, John and wife Megan, Christopher and wife Michelle, Laura, Emily, Michelle and Natalie. Cherished great-grandfather of Linus and Christopher, Jr. Dearest brother of Mary Simone and the late Josephine, Rose, Lucille, Ann and Camille and brother-in-law of Joseph Clementi and the late Phyllis Nocero. Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Vincent was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved God, his family and his country, proudly serving in the USMC during the Korean War. He worked for National Hanover Press in NYC before retiring. A man of deep faith, he was a parishioner of St. Ephrem’s Church in Brooklyn and Sacred Heart in Haworth, serving both parishes as religious education teacher and lector.

It is with deep sadness that the family of Linda Glass Barnes announces her passing after a difficult and brave battle against cancer.  Linda was truly a one-of-a-kind woman who filled each room she entered with her exuberant personality and vibrant zest for life.  There wasn’t a party she wasn’t the life of or a dance floor she would leave untouched.  Linda’s love, devotion, and loyalty to her family led her moral compass and guided her every action. She held her family most dear prioritizing those she loved most. Linda is survived by her three adoring and loving children, Jackie Douglas (John Douglas), Jennifer Reeves (John Reeves), and John Barnes III. She was the proud grandmother to her beloved five grandchildren: Lauren, Jack, and Jessica Reeves, as well as Meghan and Sean Douglas. She is also survived by her sister, Eileen Avagliano.

Linda’s journey began January 24, 1942 in the Bronx, NY. She was the eldest daughter born to Louis and Annette Glass. She grew up, first, in a long line of cousins surrounded by a tight-knit family and treasured relatives.  She cherished her memories of growing up in the Bronx and spending her summers in Long Beach, NY.  Despite earning full scholarships to several colleges for her intellectual prowess, upon graduating high school Linda threw her hat into the work world and began her administrative and clerical career at Thatcher Glass.  At 19, Linda met the love of her life in Long Beach, John Barnes Jr.  They married in 1963, and moved from the Bronx to Flushing, Queens to begin their beautiful life together.  Linda and John went on to settle in Norwood, NJ in 1976 where they amassed many life long and cherished friends.  Linda worked for 35 years as the payroll administrator at IS 143 and then WHEELS in Washington Heights, NY. She loved her job and forged strong relations with her colleagues over the years.  Linda wholeheartedly embraced her life in Norwood and became actively involved in the school and her local community.  She participated in the Home School Association while her children attended Norwood Public School. In addition, she served on the Norwood Women’s Club and participated in a variety of book clubs, as she was always a passionate reader.  She savored her time exercising and riding her bike on the boardwalk.  Linda was interested in politics, world events, and social justice.  She supported the arts and was an ardent supporter of Broadway.  She loved New York and frequented Broadway shows on a regular basis throughout her entire life.  She loved traveling, and in her retirement years, Linda traveled the world with her husband John, their cherished friends, and family. She was an active participant in her children and grandchildren’s lives and took a front seat at their milestone events as well as their mundane day-to-day activities. She fervently believed that life was not a dress rehearsal and she lived according to that motto. 

Visitation is Sunday from 2-6 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale (201-767-3050). A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 AM with interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Judith A. Rosenbach, 68, of New Milford, formerly of Harrington Park, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael and cherished son Michael. Margaret I. Keely, 95, of Norwood, formerly of Closter, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Frederick. Cherished mother of Joan Villone and husband David of New Milford and Jennifer Amendola and husband Anthony of Piermont. Adored grandmother of Serafino, Alexandra and Samantha. Dearest sister of the late Mae Hessler, Constance Ford and Natalie Kilmurray. Also survived by nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Margaret was an avid Yankee and Giants fan, enjoyed golf with her husband Fred, trips to the casinos and playing cards with her friends at Fox Hill. Before retiring she worked at Arwood in Rockleigh and Scholastic in Englewood Cliffs. She was a member of the Norwood and Northvale Senior Centers.

Philip T. Cabot, 66, of Norwood, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Beloved husband of Rose (nee Baig). Loving father of Kenneth and wife Sanjida of Long Island, Mark and wife Renu of South Windsor, CT and Allison of Brooklyn. Cherished grandfather of Tiernan, Aakhil, Maxwell and Elias. Philip was a senior manager for Volvo in Rockleigh for many years. He was an active volunteer for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children). He also enjoyed being a member of the Rockland Radio Control Club.

Mary D. Macchia, 96, of Midland Park, formerly of Little Ferry and Jersey City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Beloved wife of the late George A. Macchia. Loving mother of Domenick and wife Sandra of Hasbrouck Heights, George M. and wife Joni of Wyckoff and the late Andrew and wife Barbara. Adored grandmother of Mark and wife Kim, Denise and husband Joe, Danielle, David, Kristin, Kevin and Carol and great-grandmother of Max, Karina, Jackson, Sarah, Nicholas, Stevyns and the beloved family pets. On Sunday, February 11, 2018, surrounded by family, William G. (Gil) Masten, was called into the arms of Jesus. He had just celebrated his 93^rd birthday in January. Gil worked for more than 30 years at Bergen County Utilities as an electrician. After retiring, he worked for Rapid Meter and then Belveduto Electric. Following this, he drove a school bus. Gil was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. There wasn’t a toy, mechanical device, or household object that he couldn’t fix. There wasn’t a second that he wasn’t willing to sit with his grandchildren or great grandchild to play cars, read a book, complete a puzzle, or just be. There wasn’t a day that all of us didn’t know we were loved unconditionally.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Gwendolyn, Louaine, and Helen; and two brothers, Jerry and Theodore. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Antonina (Nina) Nadwodny Masten; daughter and son-in-law Susan Masten and Simon Davies of Okemos, MI.; daughter Barbara Masten of East Stroudsburg, PA.; son and daughter-in-law William J. and Susan Masten of River Vale, NJ; son and daughter-in-law Steven and Roberta Masten of Wayne, NJ. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Jennie (Adam) John, Joseph (Kelli) Murphy, Paulette Murphy, Quentin Masten-Davies, Erica Masten, Jeffrey Masten-Davies, Alicia Masten, and Steven Masten and his great grandchildren: Christopher John, Lyla Murphy, Noah Paul, and Kenzie John. He is also survived by his canine children: Lady, Heidi, and Gee Lee.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Anthony Church, 199 Walnut St, Northvale, NJ 07647. A luncheon reception to celebrate Gil’s life and love will follow at Bergen County Health Care Chapel at 35B Piermont Rd., Rockleigh, NJ 07647.
