Dear Paul,
I’m so sorry for the loss of your brother.
Sending prayers for comfort and strength.
I’m very sorry to hear of Mr. Fimble’s passing. He was a great teacher to have in both Tenakill and Villiage School. I also was fortunate to work with, and learn from him, in the Closter Rec program at the beginning of my teaching career. My condolences to the Fimble family.
My husband said it best. Pete was the guy every father prayed his daughter would marry.
He was so loved and will be so missed. Heaven just gained another angel.
Had the pleasure of knowing Pete since moving in our neighborhood Pete knew everyone in the neighborhood and he was the watchdog for sure always taking your garbage can up from the street even though you were capable he always wanted to do it . I got to know him a little bit the last couple years truly a nice man and his lovely wife as well. God bless him. I will pray for the family rest in peace, my friend,
Dan Cappelletti. ( friend)
You couldn’t have grown up in Closter in the ’60s, ’70s, or ’80s maybe even beyond without knowing Mr. Fimble. He was truly a fixture in the community. I remember it being a big deal when he was the gym teacher at Tenakill and married one of the teachers, obviously his wife. May his soul rest in peace.
He brought peace and joy to many and taught countless important lessons. I still remember talking with him in the hall when I was a young child at Tenakill Elementary. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Blessings and peace to all in Jesus’ name.
There’s only one Pete! Only by sheer and divine luck, caddying , first meet up, ! $2.50 a bag! And then college! Did not know we would choose the same school? I,remember! It was as the cheapest! And teaching!
Where Pete excelled “Mr.Fixit” even a broken heart! Pete could you take a look as favor ?

Pete was definitely a gem. I will always remember him for his kindness, sense of humor and his ability to make you feel special. I’m keeping Kathleen, Deborah, Ryan, Pete’s grandsons and his brother Paul in my prayers.
Mr. Fimbel was one of a kind. Teaching middle schoolers is difficult, I’ve done it. In addition to being a fabulous instructor, he was truly just a sweet man. I am blessed to have known him.
I’ll light a candle for you, Mr Fimbel, on Sunday.
Peace
