Frank T. McElderry

Frank T. McElderry, 77, of Norwood, NJ, passed away at home on April 26th surrounded by his loving family.  Frank was a generous, kind and loving family man with a great sense of humor.  He will always be remembered for his devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren.

Cherished husband of 55 years to Lorraine (nee Marchese). Loving father to Frank E. McElderry of Boca Raton FL, Tom McElderry and his wife Corrine of Tappan, NY and Kerry Guerriero and her husband Neil of Harrington Park, NJ.  Devoted “Paco” to his adoring grandchildren Caitlin, Bailey, Shannon, Thomas, Mary, Kevin and Kayla. Dear brother to James McElderry and his wife Maureen of Ramsey, NJ and Larry Brown and his wife Joanne of The Bronx, NY,  loving brother in law to Marilyn Lutz of Whiting, NJ and dear uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

Frank was born in Dumont, NJ in 1938 and then moved to The Bronx when he was a young child.  He remained in the Bronx until he joined the Army and served his country in the Korean War. When he returned from Korea, he married his beloved wife Lorraine in 1961 and moved to Tappan, NY in 1965.  With three young children and a full time job, Frank still found the time to obtain his Bachelor’s Degree from Manhattan College and his Master’s Degree from Pace University.   He was a District Manager for Con Edison in Westchester County for 30 years.  He lived in Tappan for 37 years before moving to Norwood.  After retiring, Frank pursued numerous hobbies including car repair, home improvements, organizing anything he could get his hands on and watching his grandchildren participate in sports and dance recitals.  He loved to drive to Florida and spend time in the warm weather.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ on Thursday, April 28th   from 2-4 and 7-9. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 29th at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Church on Paris Avenue in Northvale. Interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.

Janet Eleanor Fellowes

Janet Eleanor Fellowes (nee Sendall), 83, of Teaneck, passed away at Villa Marie Claire surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 22, 2016. She was the devoted mother of Pamela Fellowes of Ridgefield, Linda Jean Jenkins and her husband Carl of Nahant, MA and Colleen Eleanor Fellowes and her husband Edmond Frankel of Harrington Park. Cherished grandmother of nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of George Thomas Sendall, Jr. of Arrington, VA and the late Virginia Daniels and Eleanor Cherie Sendall. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Ms. Fellowes was an active member of the Hawthorne Gospel Church for many years. She was a woman of many talents, including writing children’s books and poetry, and crafting, such as embroidery, knitting, painting and photography.
Family will receive friends Tuesday 10 – 11 AM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale (201-767-3050). A funeral service will be held at 11 AM with interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-On-Hudson, NY.

Richard Rene Riendeau

Richard Rene Riendeau, 79, of Northvale, passed away at home on April 20, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.  Richard was a kind, warm, humble, sensitive, family loving man with a positive attitude and a sense of humor.  He will always be remembered for his wisdom, and gentle, sweet soul.

 

Cherished husband of 47 years to Rosetta (nee Zambri), loving Dad to Shelly Masterson and her husband Larry, devoted Pop-Pop to Michael and Kayla of Old Tappan.  Dear brother to Roger Riendeau, David Riendeau, Elaine Wdowiak and her husband Ronnie of Ware, MA.  Brother-in-Law to Mary Lou Zambri of Haledon, and Carmel Zambrano and the late Carmine of Woodland Park and many nieces and nephews.

 

Richard graduated from Amherst College, Harvard University and Bowden College.  He was a Mathematics teacher and supervisor for 35 years at Northern Valley Regional High School.  He had a passion for learning and attended many summer institutes.  After retiring, Richard pursued numerous hobbies including Art and History.  He enjoyed traveling the world with his family.

 

The family will receive relatives and friends at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 4-8pm.  A funeral service is planned for Saturday, April 23, 2016, 10:30am at The Community Gospel Church, 430 Birchwood Rd, Northvale.

Lester Robert Jacoby

Lester Robert Jacoby, 79, of Englewood, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Beloved husband of Ruth (nee McMeekin). Cherished father of Kathleen Christie and husband Walter of Old Tappan, Diane Diaz and husband Waldo of River Vale and Lynne Moran of Englewood. Adored grandfather of Lauren Christie, Kara Christie, Ryan Diaz and Kyle Diaz. Dear uncle of Philip Mancuso and Robert McMeekin. Predeceased by his sister Ruth Mancuso and her husband Anthony.

Lester was a US Army Veteran. He retired from Cohen Express Trucking as Vice –President. Prior to that he was a police officer in Jersey City and was a private investigator and a talent manager for many years.  Lester was an active supporter of the Police Athletic League.  A generous and kind man with a huge heart, Lester will forever be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.

Patricia Andrews

Patricia Andrews(nee Patrizio), 96, of Bergenfield, formerly of Tenafly, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Loving mother of Dennis and wife Michele of Brooklyn, Brian of Bergenfield and Patrice Rosato and husband Daniel of Old Tappan. Adored grandmother of Brian Jr., Shannon, Shaun, Jillian and Alicia. Dear sister of Catherine Medaglia and Penny LoBello and aunt of many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Brian’s wife, Maria.

Patricia worked many years for the Mayor and Council of Tenafly on various committees and enjoyed being a choir member at St. Therese Church in Cresskill. She was an accomplished seamstress and had an early career designing baby clothes.  Patricia was a member of the Leonardo da Vinci Society Dance Troupe and loved to travel extensively.

Dorothy Lemken Sloane

Dorothy Lemken Sloane (nee Henrichs), 91, of Roxboro, NC, formerly of Cold Spring, NY, died on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Born in Lynbrook, NY, Mrs. Sloane was the daughter of the late Theodore W. Henrichs and Kathryn Kley Henrichs Lingner and wife of the late Charles W. Lemken and John F. Sloane, Sr.  Mrs. Sloane held various executive and legal secretarial positions and later retired as an accountant from IBM in 1992. Upon retirement, she loved travelling the world with her husband, John.

Mrs. Sloane is survived by her children, Louise Verni of Timberlake, NC and Bruce Lemken of Emerson; one step-son and four step-daughters; her grandchildren, Charles Lemken and wife Monica of Emerson, Michael Lemken and wife Charraye of Washington Township; one great-grandchild, Lily Sophia Lemken.

Hedwig Zellner (nee Mader), 94, of Norwood, formerly of Chester, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.  Beloved wife of the late Wolfgang.  Cherished mother of Hedwig R. Galow of Norwood.  Adored grandmother of Michael and wife Victoria, Robert and wife Liz and Karen. Loving great-grandmother of six.  Hedwig enjoyed spending time with family as well as her friends at the McGuire Senior Center in Northvale.

Joseph Patrick Dunn, Sr., 80, of Haverstraw, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016. Beloved husband of Cathy (nee Hammel). Devoted father of Joseph P.,  Jr. of Hoboken, Richard T. of Glen Cove, David M. of Haverstraw and Mark W. of Haverstraw. Dear brother of the late Thomas Dunn and Allison Kuhn.

Joseph was a Pastor at the Central Presbyterian Church in Haverstraw for many years before retiring. During his time as Pastor, he was active in the community and began a program in the village offering free meals to the needy every Thanksgiving and Christmas. He was a member of Rotary and was Chaplain of the Haverstraw Fire Dept. A true outdoorsman, he loved hiking, fishing, hunting and camping and was also an avid reader.

Theodora Rose Contini “Sis” (nee DiCola), 98, of Northvale, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Harold. James P. Moran

James P. Moran, 80, of Palisades, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016. Beloved husband of Ellen (nee McNeil). Devoted father of Suzanne Lindquist and her husband Richard of NYC, James P. Moran, Jr. of Garden City, NY and Melissa Moran of NYC. Cherished grandfather of J.P., Stephen and Abigail. Dearest brother and brother-in-law of the late Maureen and George Colleran.

James was a US Army veteran. He proudly served in the NYPD for 15 years before beginning a career in various hospitals in the metropolitan area. He retired from Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ as Chief Information Officer. A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, James loved his family and spending time with them and his friends, as well as a round of golf. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
