Joe was my boss…but he was not just my boss, he was my mentor, a father-figure and a friend. I was his ESS/Admin for more than 12 years. I spoke to Joe more than most of my family. Those good morning calls everyday that closed with, “ok, Kiddo…good job…” will be missed so much. I stood beside him as he grew and managed hundreds of people…he was a truly respected member of our company and especially our team. We spent years living through difficult and major changes in telecom and his focus was always his people…making sure he could save as many of us as he could. And he did. He fought for us over and over for years. Lyndon called Joe “the great communicator” and he truly was. Being his right hand and learning from him has been the honor of my career. I’ve never worked with a man so true and dedicated to his life and work. Lynn, Diana and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. We talked about many things over the years but he was never more proud of being a husband, father, grandfather and the patriarch of your family. And he was family to many of us, too. He was truly an inspiring, great man and I miss him already. Rest now, sir. See you on the beach…

I have loved my Brother-in-law, Joe for so many years. Lynn and Joe have been our buddies in crime and we spent many happy years vacationing and going on various adventures together. He loved my sister and God daughter very much and they were always first in his life. He was a kind and caring person, very bright, very talented and very highly-regarded.

These last 14 months have been a nightmare for all of us that loved him. Although he struggled with all the speedbumps that came along, he endured such things with grace and always tried to comfort us!
He was a star in the firmament and I will miss him very much. My heart is broken. RIP, Joe; no more pain

  15. Joe was truly a great man. I considered him a friend and mentor throughout our many years working together. Rest in Peace, Joe – you will be missed.

  16. Dear Lynn, Diana, family and friends,
May Joe rest peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus and may your memories of him be a blessing and comfort to you. Our prayers will be with you all and I will keep the memory of Joe’s warm smile in my heart always. With love, kindness and prayers,
    Jane and Steve Gedeon

My brother-in-law was like a brother to me. I have loved him for a very long time. We spent much time together; traveling ,visiting and just enjoying life.
His early passing is such a shock for all of us. I comfort myself in knowing that I told him very often that I loved him, that I was proud of him. I am so glad it did that. I have no regrets re words unspoken. We will always be there for Lynn and Diana. RIP, my dear pal. No more pain.

  18. Lyndon & Jennifer Forde

    Dear Lynn and Diana,

Words cannot express how our hearts are aching right now. Joe will be missed tremendously. While there is no way we can feel your pain, we hope that you feel comfort in knowing that his love for you will always be there and we are here for you.

  20. I worked with Joe, my entire career, and he was a friend, a mentor, a confidante and father figure. I’ll miss the 2am phone calls while he was driving in to the office for a hurricane. The random calls just to check on me. The hour long calls abut Spain and the grandkids and Lynn and Diana .. I’ll just miss him!

I had just told him the day he retired that I credited a lot of my success to him and his guidance….

    You will be missed!

I was saddened to hear of Joe’s
passing. Joe lead an incredible life
as well as being an incredible person. I worked with Joe for ten
years at Sprint. I always found him
to be open minded, innovative and never pretentious. To Joe every new idea had to be discussed and if
    found plausible, implemented.
Joe will always be in the hearts and minds of the family and friends who privilege knowing Joe.

  26. Dear Lynn & Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. For me Joe was one of those special boss’s that bridged friendship and understanding with hard work and high expectations. In my mind he was a very decent man and a superb individual. I will miss him, as will many.

    Once again my condolences.

During your lifetime I think there’s a hand full of people who come into your world and really make a difference. Joe was one of those people. His authenticity and genuine concern for people was evident from the moment you met him. I worked with and for Joe for many years and I always felt like he was my friend, mentor, father figure and confident. I admired and respected him because of the way he treated me and everyone else around him. I am crushed to hear of his passing! Our world is indeed a darker place without his indelible spirit. I feel blessed to have known Joe and I’m so thankful for his impact on my life and my family. His wisdom was priceless and I will miss him terribly.

Joe was a wonderful person and manager. We worked together over MANY years and when I was on his calls the last few, he really was like a dad, sharing his wisdom and caring with his team just like a father would. My heart breaks for his family to lose him at this time of life. I’m sure the memory of his life will be a blessing to all once the sorrow eases.

  38. I am so shocked to hear of Joe’s passing. He was a friend, and a mentor during my tenure at Sprint. We worked side by side in Teterboro every day. He was fair, honest and his integrity was top notch. Even after I parted ways with Sprint, Joe and I kept in touch and would occasionally have lunch together. It is such a loss of a good man, husband, father and grandfather.
