David J. Musante, 86, of Harrington Park, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020.  Beloved husband of the late Kathleen P. Musante (nee Collins) for 57 years. Loving father of Maria Vanessa Musante of Harrington Park and Jeannette Musante of Montclair.

After completing his education and military service in the US Army, David started his career as a bench chemist at Lever Brothers Company. His career spanned 37 years with three companies where he specialized in leading an interdisciplinary team to manufacture new food products in the United States, Europe and Asia. David retired from Best Foods in 1997.

He was a Eucharistic minister and parishioner of Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Harrington Park and a volunteer Eucharistic minister at Bergen Regional Medical Center. David was a Life Member of the Harrington Park Volunteer Ambulance Corps with a National Certification EMT-D.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 10 AM at Our Lady of Victories, Harrington Park with entombment to follow at Garden of Memories, Washington Twp. Arrangements by Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale (201-767-3050).

Stephen Liparini, 30, loving husband and father of two daughters, passed away on November 28, 2020. Steve was born on February 6, 1990 to Stephen and Lori Liparini. Steve graduated  from Northern Valley Demarest High School and attended Muhlenberg College, where he played football. He was employed as a union carpenter in New York City. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Julia (married  September 1, 2017) and their two beautiful daughters, Viviana and Giana. He leaves his father, Stephen, stepmother Zaida Soto-Liparini and siblings Michael, Matthew, Lori, James,step-brother Alex and step-sister Elena. He also leaves his mother, Lori, Jeff Bellusci, and grandfather Roger Regensburg, who affectionately called him “Ace.” Steve also leaves behind his in-laws, Gary and Debbie Miuccio and their other children, Gary and Anthony.

Steve was a family man. He loved celebrations, holidays and family gatherings. He had a huge heart and was loved by many, a great and loyal friend. Steve was known for his charisma, sense of humor, infectious smile, athleticism and his kind and compassionate spirit. He was a young man with an “old soul” and a passion for nostalgia, traditions, music, food and “being Italian.”  Above all, he took great pride in being the best husband, father to his girls, son, big brother, in-law, and co-worker he could be. The day he left us put a hole in our hearts and he will be missed every day.

William Cummings, 83, of Venice, FL, and Pearl River, NY, formerly of Northvale, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2020. Devoted and beloved husband (49 years) of Christine (nee McGoey). Loving father of Jeannine and David Deramo and children, Ava, Kaitlyn and Ella; Justin and Siobhan Cummings and children Neave and Brendan; Kevin and Eugenia Cummings, Gerard Cummings and Lucy and children Keri-Ann and Jarrett; and Karen Kammen and children Marissa (Ravi), Rachel, Tyler and Kaylee (Andrew). Also, great-grandfather of Oliver, Hunter, Lincoln and Archer. Dearest brother of the late Kathleen Green, Robert Cummings, and children Robert (Kym), the late Jeffrey, and Sue Shortino. Dear brother-in-law of the late Kathleen Cassidy and children Liam (Shelley) and Sean.

Bill was a proud USMC veteran. He owned and operated Group II Photography & Video and worked many years for the NFL and NY Football Giants. In addition to photographing over 35 Super Bowls, Bill’s work also included hundreds of local weddings and he was intimately involved in filming and producing the NVOT Senior Video Yearbooks and Proms. He was a devoted parishioner and active volunteer at St. Anthony’s parish, helping to install audio/video for the church. In addition, he loved traveling to Ireland, researching his genealogy and playing golf. Most of all, Bill treasured time with his wife and family – and ever the consummate photographer – capturing the joy of his grandchildren. 

Bill served as dedicated President of the Casa Di Amici Condo Association for over 13 years and was a longstanding Board Member of the Venetia Master Association in Venice, FL, where he leaves an impressive legacy.

Peter Herina, 92, of Wanaque, NJ and Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2020. Born in Wallington, New Jersey to the late Stephen and Mary (nee Fengya) Herina. Beloved husband of Angelina (nee Pizzi) Herina of 58 years.  Devoted father of Peter and his wife Beth of Ringwood, New Jersey and Jo-Anne Jeffreys and her husband, Timothy of Naples, Florida. Cherished grandfather of Dylan and Haley Herina and TJ Jeffreys.  Peter was predeceased by his brothers, George, Stephen and John and his sisters, Helen Yoda, Rose Keresty and Margaret Breznak.  He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He graduated from Garfield High School and St. John’s University School of Pharmacy. Marion Malora (nee Hirn), 87, of Norwood, formerly of Northvale passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Frank A. Malora. Devoted mother of Todd and wife Laurie of Philadelphia, PA, Gregg and wife Eileen of Blauvelt, NY, Glenn and wife Bonnie of Harrington Park, and the late Scott. Dearest sister of the late Dolores Bullock and husband Norman, and Ronald Hirn and wife Sandy. Adored grandmother of Douglas, Daniel, Kimberly, Maeve, Megan, Devon, Matthew, and Aine. Before retiring, Marion was a salesperson at Wallnuts Wallpaper in Norwood and Bloomingdales in Hackensack. She was an active member of the Northvale Senior Center, the Golden Age Club, and a Blue Ribbon winning member of the Northvale Garden Club.

Marion was the anchor of her family, a talented seamstress, and an avid cook.  She will leave behind a lifetime of memories, amazing recipes, and a deep love of family.

Bertie M. Cohen (nee Smith), 70, of Blauvelt, passed away at home surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Beloved wife of Jeffrey J. Cohen. Michael Charles (‘Buddy’) Powers, 85, of Ringwood, NJ and Jupiter FL, formerly of Inwood, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2020. He was the loving husband of Nancy McGrath.  He is predeceased by his wife Theresa Powers (nee Dougherty) of Bronx, NY.  Proud father of Mary Beth Powers and husband Andrew Berkowitz, Jean Marie Powers, Christopher Powers and wife Patricia, Michael Powers and wife Teri, Katie McNamara and husband Michael and Tim Powers and wife Dawn. Dear step-father of Jack McGrath and wife Suzanne, Ellen McGrath Rozsa, Robert McGrath and wife Holly and Thomas McGrath and wife Lisa. Cherished grandfather of 25 grandchildren. Dear brother of William Powers and wife Jerry, Patricia Cliggett and her late husband John, Raymond Powers, Sr. and wife Kristine and brother-in-law Frank Honoré, husband of the late Maureen Honoré. Michael was a US Army Veteran and was a member of the Jupiter VFW. He was a National Sales Manager for GTE Sylvania for many years before retiring. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 6212 in Ringwood.  Michael was a devoted fan of the Yankees, Giants and Rangers and loved playing golf, having been a member of High Mountain Country Club and the Griff Harris Golf Club.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Charles A. Crasten, “Charlie”, 89 of Dumont, NJ passed away on November 14, 2020, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on April 11, 1931 in Bronx, NY to parents Arnold and Theresa Crasten.

Charles joined the National Guard in 1950 and served in the reserves for seven years. While in the service he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Buchwald, and they lived together inseparable for over 66 years. 

Charles returned to night school and was a 1960 graduate of Rutgers University where he studied Accounting and proudly earned his varsity letter in basketball. 

He was survived by his daughter Diane Tice and husband Jack of Norwood, NJ, daughter Donna Horizon of Richmond, VA, and daughter Dorothy Magnotta and husband David of Minden, NV; his six grandchildren, Sarah Rylick and her husband Jason, John N. Tice III and wife Nicole, Charlotte and Jenna Christensen, and Katelynn and Andrew Magnotta. 

Charles was lucky to be called Pa and PooPa by his great grandchildren Alyssa Rylick and Ashley and Lauren Tice. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Lynn Alimo. 

In his spare time, Charles enjoyed fishing, spending time in the Outer Banks, and telling old stories to his family and friends. He was a Civil War enthusiast and loved traveling to visit historic sites.

Abraham “Abe” Geevarughese was born March 26, 1982 to Mathew
Geevarughese and Aleyamma Geevarughese in the Bronx NY. He was a
younger brother to his sister Anita and older brother to their
youngest son Bobby. Abe was raised in Rockland County, NY and attended
St. Thomas Orthodox Church Yonkers NY, where he served as an acolyte
in the Holy Altar. He attended college at SUNY Albany, where he
graduated in 2004 with a degree in Information Technology and
afterward completed his MBA.

In 2016, Abe met Suzanne “Jess” Chirayil in New York and they married
on September 7, 2019 in New Jersey. They both enjoyed spending time
together watching movies, adventuring to different parts of the world,
and exploring new restaurants.

Abe was always generous with his time, especially when it came to his
family and friends. He loved football, traveling and cooking; his ham
recipes were always a hit during family get-togethers.

His early departure has left a void to all those who loved him. He
will always be remembered for being funny, selfless, compassionate,
welcoming, generous, and charismatic. He is survived by his wife Jess,
his parents Mathew and Aleyamma, his sister Anita, husband Philip and
nephews Noah and Josiah; his brother Bobby, wife Sally and niece
Naomi; his father-in-law Colman, mother-in-law Glory, sister-in-law
Tisha and husband Jomy; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and
friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 4-9 PM at St. John’s Indian Orthodox Church, 331 Blaisdell Rd., Orangeburg, NY. A Service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 9 AM at the church with interment to follow at Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY.
