Paul Kleinlaut

Paul Kleinlaut, 83, of Norwood, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 3, 2020. Beloved husband of 62 years of Martha Kleinlaut. Loving, proud father of Paula Frendel.  Adored, cherished Pop-Pop of Maxine Frendel and Myles Frendel. 

Paul was a Commercial Offset Pressmith for 40 years in New York City. In his early years, he proudly served in the New York National Guard. He was an avid saltwater fisherman who enjoyed many cruise vacations with his family. He was proud of his chess game, tomato garden, and love of dogs. He was a longtime member and volunteer of the Norwood Senior Citizens Club, and he enjoyed many wonderful trips with his club friends. 

A viewing will be held at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale on Monday, July 6 from 4-7pm. Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 7 at 10am at St. Anthony’s Parish in Northvale, with a funeral procession leading to Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY. 

Barbara Mockler

Barbara Mockler (nee DiBlasio), 64, of Harrington Park, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Loving wife of Ronald C. Mockler. Cherished mother of Kristel-Lynn, Michelle and Robert. Dearest sister of Peter DiBlasio, Michael DiBlasio and his wife Debra and Anthony DiBlasio. Also survived by her beloved dog Lucky.Barbara was a devoted wife and mother who loved her husband and kids. Barbara loved entertaining her family and friends. She always knew how to make others laugh. Her smile was contagious and brightened up any room she entered. John J. Pinnisi

John J. Pinnisi, 92, of Saddle River, formerly of Norwood, passed away at home on Saturday, June 27, 2020. Beloved husband of Rafaela (nee Di Stefano). Loving father of Luciana Contiliano and her husband Roy of Bergenfield, Julia Moss and her husband Steven of Saddle River and John J, Jr. and his wife Candace of Gainesville, VA. Adored grandfather of Erica, Anthony and Dominic. Dearest brother of Frank and was predeceased by six brothers and sisters.

John was a proud US Army Veteran of WWII.  He was a pile driver for Raymond International for over 35 years before retiring.  He was a volunteer on the Norwood Fire Department and also enjoyed time spent with the Norwood Seniors.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday 4-7 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050). A Funeral Service will be held Thursday 10 AM at the funeral home.

Arlene Claire Boswell

Arlene Claire Boswell (nee Lease), 57, of Northvale, passed away on June 19, 2020. Beloved wife of the late John. Beloved mother of Tara Boswell and husband Joshua Ramirez, Joseph Boswell and Samantha Boswell and fiance Thomas Manousos. Cherished grandmother of Jesse John and Vada Whitney. Dearest sister of Rita Loguidice and husband Tom, Karen Baumgartner, Matthew Lease and Sandra Hughes and her husband Christopher.

Arlene worked at various restaurants locally as well as in Florida. She will be missed for her hard work ethic and her easy smile.

Edward R. Kammer

Edward R. Kammer, 85, of Northvale, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Claire. Beloved father and grandfather of Beth Kammer and her son Corey and Maryann and Stephen Baer and their daughter Valerie. He was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.

Ed was a film editor for NBC in New York City. He was a dedicated life member of 50 years of the Northvale Fire Department and served in many capacities over the years, including Fire Chief. He will always be fondly remembered for his role as Santa every year. Ed also served his country in the US Army reserves for six years.

A funeral procession will leave Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale on Monday at 11 AM, passing the firehouse and then to his burial at Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY.

Vivian B. Pane

Vivian B. Pane (nee Figari), 88, of Norwood, formerly of Closter and Union City, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Beloved grandmother of Jillian Pane. She was predeceased by her son Dennis, her sister Norma and her brother Louis.

Vivian worked for NY Telephone in NYC for many years before retiring. She will be remembered for her bright smile and her special jokes.

Darriel Gianni Olivero

A memorial service was held for Darriel Gianni Olivero at Pizzi Funeral Home on June 14, 2020. 
Darriel was born October 17, 2007, in Miami Dade Park Regional Hospital to Dely Olivero. His father is Joshua Olivero.

Darriel was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He loved people and was loved by many. His smile lit up every room he entered. The sound of his laughter filled the entire room. His love for children was Christ-like. His passion for life was awe-inspiring. His heart was made of gold. His hobbies included cutting hair and listening to music.

Darriel was baptized and discipled at Englewood Assembly of God Church and Metro Community Church, also in Englewood, NJ. 

Darriel is survived by his parents Dely and Josh Olivero, his sisters Jetaime and Shailene, and his brothers Joshua Jr. and Nino. 

Kathleen Keavey

Kathleen Keavey (nee Reilly), 79, of Norwood, NJ. formerly of Staten Island, NY passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.

Kathleen was born in County Fermanagh, Ireland.  She immigrated to the US at age 18 and built a wonderful life dedicated to her families both in the US and Ireland.

Kathleen met her husband John in the Bronx on the subway heading off to an Irish dance at City Center. Married in 1966 and together had a loving marriage of 54 years. Devoted mother of John P. Jr. and wife Charissa of Shrewsbury, NJ, Peter F. and wife Anne of Glen Ridge, NJ, Thomas M. and wife Amy of Boonton, NJ, Cathleen A. of Westwood, NJ and Mark E. and wife Rebecca of Olney, MD. Cherished grandmother of Emilie, Olivia, Caroline, Cecile, Elizabeth, James, Jack, Andrew and Matthew. Dearest sister of Elizabeth, Patrick, Edwin, Fr. Peter, Susan, Tony and the late Maureen and James.

Kathleen was a legal assistant at Chase Bank and then IBJ Schroeder in NYC before retiring. She was a devoted parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Norwood and was an active member of the Irish-American Social Club in Bergenfield.

Thomas F. Horgan

Thomas F. Horgan, 78, of Dumont, formerly of Brosna, Co. Kerry, Ireland, passed away at home on Friday, June 5, 2020. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Murphy). Proud father of Thomas F. Horgan and wife Sandra of Northvale and Michael Horgan and wife Kerry of Northvale. Cherished grandfather of Jack, Julia, Emma, Catherine, Ellie and Grace.  Dear brother of Betty, Kate, Julianne, Marianne, Con, John, Denis, Joe, Tony and Hannah. He is also survived by many other loving family and friends.

Tom was a paper handler for the NY Times for over 50 years before retiring. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Rose I. Savincki

Rose I. Savincki (nee Fossa), a lifelong resident of Northvale, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Savincki. Loving mother of Alan and his wife Jo-Ann of Kinnelon, NJ, Albert and his wife Denise of Hawley, PA and the late Joseph Jr. and Frank. Proud grandmother of four and great-grandmother of six. Dearest sister of Albino Fossa, Frank Fossa and was predeceased by four siblings.

Rose first worked at Federal Paper in Piermont, NY for many years before becoming a matron at Northern Valley Regional High School in Old Tappan and retiring after 13 years. Rose then enjoyed volunteering in the kitchen at the Northvale Senior Center.
